Beautiful spot on the water. Walked in and seated on the outside porch right near the dock. Started with a ponchartrain punch. Really great. Ordered the redfish sandwich , grilled with slaw. The slaw is a vinegar base and refreshing just different. The waitress was new but super sweet and helpful. Another terrific experience.

Amazing views with stellar service, refreshing drinks, and tasty seafood options. This place was a nice gem to discover but it is not very vegan or kosher friendly as most of the items contain either shellfish or pork.

This was my 2nd visit to The Anchor! On both occasions the hostess was very inviting and accommodating. The first visit was during the summer season when everyone wants dockside seating. We met two separate couples and had a very relaxing and enjoyable meal with friendly conversation. Today, our visit landed us at The Anchor after a recent cold spell. Anyone from Louisiana knows these rarely last for to long. The day was pretty and the temperature was up, but still chilly. My partner wanted to be seated dockside, I preferred a little heat. The hostess, Nicole, gave us the best of both worlds. She gave us seats with water views but under the very comfortable heaters. Can I say, really accommodating and pleasant! And, that was on the first visit too when it was extremely busy! Our waitress, Emily, was super! I wanted a boozy warm drink. She made something for me that wasn't on the menu, and was quit tasty. For my entree I had the tacos with Firecracker shrimp and sweet potato fries. Spicy & Tasty!!! Honestly, I was to full to eat because we had an order of boudin egg rolls and Nashville wings which was all scrumptious! The sweet potato fries were pretty good; but I could have downed the beer fries on my own. The Boat Burger was seasoned and juicy. As full as I was I took a few bites because, it was delicious! Overall, everything was amazing; from the atmosphere, the service, and the food! I'd be back; hopefully a lot sooner!

I really really really like this setting. The vibes by the water & the actual aesthetic of the restaurant was my type of vibe. I was disappointed in my food. The picture was good but the food was cold. I made a stop on my lunch break, I waited just about 45 minz for my food to get to me after placing the order shortly after I arrived and when I got my food I wanted to send it back but I didn't have time to wait again. The restaurants restroom is upstairs as well. So don't hold it lol cause you have two flights to walk up.

What an amazing experience with service, ambience and the exceptional flavors this restaurant…read moreoffers! Truly the biggest gem in Madisonville! We dined here late lunch/early dinner. The decor from street view of the restaurant is welcoming and yet, once you walk inside it gives you the artsy, modern & sophistication to another world. I was pleasantly surprised and admire this take in its art form. We ordered 3 plates to share, Calamari, Cevice Clasico, & Pulpo Anticuchero & a couple Pisco sours. Each dish was plated and cooked perfectly, especially the octopus. Octopus is usually overcooked in most establishments, but not here... it was melt in your mouth outstanding. I honestly can reorder those plates again for the next visit because they are actually that outstanding. They do have a speakeasy (upstairs) open on Friday's and Saturdays which is themed to Scarface and even have a connecting outside front patio lounge to that. Unfortunately they weren't open at the time, as we visited on a Sunday. But we still got a pretty cool tour by our awesome server. Needless to say, this place has won our hearts and we will be back to try more! Note: if all the parking spots are taken in front of the river, there is ample parking right behind the restaurant.

I guess the branzino father's days special made the day!! Sarah was our server and she was welcoming and chatty which we like in a waitress ! Restaurant was nice decorated and kept same vibe in downtown New Orleans .. we will definitely be back!

We stopped in for Sunday brunch on my daughters birthday and had another fantastic meal…read more I ordered the Louisiana Crabmeat Sardou, and it was outstanding. Think eggs Benedict with a Louisiana crabmeat twist. It starts with a buttery homemade biscuit topped with a whole artichoke heart, creamed spinach, a perfectly poached egg, hollandaise, and caviar. It's served with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and a side of potatoes. With so many rich components, I expected it to be heavy, but everything was surprisingly balanced. Every bite worked together, and it was an incredibly delicious dish. My wife ordered the French Dip, which was the brunch special, and she absolutely raved about it. The shaved ribeye was incredibly tender, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the au jus was packed with flavor. My daughter, who considers herself a burger connoisseur, insists their Brunch Burger is the best burger she's ever had. She ordered it again today, and it only reinforced that opinion. I also tried the Golden Hour cocktail, and it may have become my new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. Tchefuncte's continues to deliver one of our favorite brunch experiences, and we can't wait to stop in again the next time we're in the area.

We really enjoyed Tchefuncte's!…read more They have their own parking lot, so it made it very easy to get in and out. You just park, the go inside, and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The service was phenomenal! It was for an anniversary, and they made sure to tell us happy anniversary, and add it to a little sign that was left on our table. Now for the main part: the food. Fried Oysters and Pork Belly - very good, if you get this make sure you eat them together (that was our "best bite" for that serving). Wedge Salad - one of the best wedge salad's we have had. The blue cheese dressing was creamy (rather than chunky blue cheese). It had crispy shoestring onion strings that almost acted as the croutons. I loved every bite that included lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and bacon. Delmonico Steak - this was probably our overall favorite item. Just a great steak, and large enough for both of us to enjoy. Redfish - this was good, not great. Would probably try something else other than this if we went back. Tchefuncte Potatoes - they almost were like a twice baked potato (flavor wise), but they are super creamy and fluffy and then turned into a lightly fried ball. Good and very unique. Crème Brûlée - if you like crème brûlée then you will enjoy it here. A classic dessert that was delicious. And to top it all off, the ambiance was great. It is right on the water, and service was very attentive.

We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were absolutely delicious and probably the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had! For drinks, we tried the Hot Honey Margarita and Blood Orange Mezcal, and both were extremely flavorful and beautifully presented. The aesthetic was unmatched. My daughter had the kids' cheese pizza and was very happy with it as well. For our entrées, we went with the pistachio crusted salmon and the steak with crawfish cream sauce and fries, and both were exceptional. We also had to try the Blueberry 75 since French 75s are my absolute favorite, and it did not disappoint! Our waitress, Jillian, truly took the experience to the next level. She was incredibly sweet and attentive, and every recommendation she gave us was spot on. Overall, 10/10 experience! Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, great cocktails, and even better service. 100% recommend and definitely a must try in Covington! We will absolutely be back.

Walked in and the place was super cute. Called earlier in the day for reservations for 7 and they…read moresaid they did not take same day reservations but place should not be bad at 6pm and we should be seated fairly quickly. We arrived at 5:40pm and told them 7 people and were told about 40 minutes so we sat at the bar and grabbed a few drinks, waited about 40 minutes are were seated.. perfect timing. Now this is where things start to fall apart.. we sat and waited about 5 minutes for someone to show up and take drink orders and I thought should put in appetizers just in case it takes them awhile to return. A few drinks stumbled out and then appetizers came and the a few minutes later more of the drinks.. weird. Finally we ordered our entrees and while waiting finished our appetizers and then no one came and cleared the table, water was empty, drinks were low appetizer plates and appetizers vessels still on table. And wait for it... here come the entrees.. and they are placing them around an already full table.. was there no dishwashers so they didn't want to take plates back to be washed??? I put about 4 plates where my entree should have gone and they pushed the entree plate next to it and I had to ask them o remove the other plates. I feel like this is too long already.. the food? Tasted odd like it had an odd flavor I ordered the Truffle Butter Steak and it was about the size of my hand and cut in strips with onions rings on top and a small bowl of fries... for $35.00. My stunning wife orders the Shrimp fried rice and she was not impressed I tasted it and it was mushy with small shrimp. Oh I liked the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer that is the reason for the two stars. Bill came and I paid for seven of us and looked the bill and it was $381.00 with drinks no one told me the gratuity was one there already and stupid me did not look and gave them another $80.00 on top of the $60.00 on the bill yep $140.00 for horrible service.. and okay food. If you all read my reviews I honestly try to be fair and hope people have off days.. I am regretting having spent nearly $500.00 on this night
