Finally tried this location. I've been to the one in Silver Spring years ago when they first opened. Didn't really feel the need to return. I placed an online order for the quarter jerk chicken with a side of plantains and rice and peas. I was brave and got their hottest sauce on the side (angry angry). It's actually really hot - you've been warned! I was greeted right away and my order was ready. The restaurant was clean and nearby parking was available. My reason for this rating isn't the service. It's more about the price and the food just being ok. Don't think this was worth $17! I might visit again though!

The food is so good! This is my second time going here and the timing was perfect. I was so hungry that I just asked for random ingredients. By the end I said that I don't know how this is gonna taste and the employee said fire . He was right. The portion was big enough for two IMO. The restaurant odd clean and the sound level was actually a bit quiet. No food pictures this time because my appetite won't let me wait!

Yum yum yum! Omg I came here one time before. They were out of the shredded oxtail for the oxtail bowl. But this time they were fully stock. I got the lo mein with shredded oxtail, cucumber salsa, corn, and carrots. The shredded oxtail didn't exactly taste like the whole oxtail portions however it was still very filling and tender. The server was very professional, quick, and polite. Over all it was a great meal. Felt like a meal for 2 not one. I'm coming back.

I love the angry jerk! I typically do not like Caribbean food, but this is so good it feels naughty. The chicken is juicy, the Mac and cheese is perfectly cheesed, and don't even get me going on the plantains. The plantains are the best I've ever had. I've only ever gotten angry jerk as take out, but it carries across town well. Only gets better as it all sits and blends together. Do yourself a favor and go try it!

If you like chipotle and Caribbean food, this is the perfect spot for you. I got the jerk chicken bowl and it was incredible. The portions are great too. They have tacos too. Highly recommend getting the jerk mumbo sauce and the sweet sauce. I asked for extra sauce on the side and they gave me plenty. The staff was patient and gave good recommendations on what to order since it was my first time. This is my new favorite spot.

I've seen this establishment online many times and I'm glad I stopped by. The food was fresh and the service made the process seamless. At other fast casual restaurants, you feel a bit rushed and stressed during your first time. I ended up getting a curry chicken bowl and I love how vibrant it was. This may have been my first visit, but it will not be my last!

We'd been wanting to try Angry Jerk since we saw it was coming to Merriweather. We visit the Kyo Matcha and other restaurants there from time to time. We came for dinner after a run around Lake Kittamaqundi so we had an appetite. We both ordered bowls although I wanted a jerk chicken entree but they were out of bone in jerk chicken. The server loaded our bowls with all the fixings, which we greatly appreciated. My wife's favorite loved that it was clean inside. We sat inside and ate; we both started to feel full after eating half of our bowls. I finished our leftovers for lunch the next day and the food was just as great!

My first order by DoorDash. I paid extra 2,99 for fast delivery and it was fast! Side details was good. The portion pretty big! Only think chicken and rice wasnt that good. İt was ok... I can order again. I don't say it's bad! My expectation was little high I think!

I came in to ask questions and get a good look at the place in preparation for event hosting. I met with the owner and he answered all of my questions an was very helpful. They are set up cafeteria style and I hope that works for them. I am aware some dishes are prepared the same when dining at casual restaurants but not all dishes and I'm not a fan. If you're in a rush, this hopefully is a great choice for you and I may come here to grab lunch even rushing so it may work for me as well.

All the food was very hot and very delicious. My daughter and I got the oxtail which seemed to be a popular item as I seen 3 oxtail order prepared before we placed ours. Oxtails ($23.99) were very tender and the gravy was amazing. Mac and cheese was very cheesy and hot. The mixed veggies were cooked just right and were even seasoned. The Mac and cheese as one of your sides is an extra $1.99 added to the main plate. We sat in the restaurant and jammed to the Caribbean tunes playing throughout the building. I ordered the jerk chicken bowl with potato salad, Old Bay fries, and ranch dressing. My husband got the jerk pork bowl with rice and peas and mac & cheese. I'm not sure whether it was the chicken or the ranch, but one of them was spicy enough to make my nose run. I have zero tolerance for heat, so it definitely caught me off guard. Hubby enjoyed his bowl, though he mentioned they gave him less pork than on previous visits. The staff were friendly and even brought the fries out to us on the patio. I really liked the fries and potato salad, but the chicken (or the sauce) was too spicy for me. I tried a bite of my husband's mac & cheese, and that was also good.

Several months ago, a friend, ("L", if you happen to read this :-), treated a bunch of us to some super-fresh super-tasty ceviche Peruano, and I lost the info. Yesterday, hoping for a quiet lunch, we found Pipilinka Peruvian Charbroiled Chicken, and the moment we saw the authentic home-made foods on the menu, we knew this was the place! There's plenty of parking, and we walked across a patio with benches and tables shared among several restaurants, also used for occasional live music. Pipilinka is a cute colorful storefront towards the west end of the patio, with some specials on a sandwich board out front. Inside it's cozy and cute, brightly decorated with Peruvian art and crafts. It's family-run, and the owner helped several groups who arrived at the same time, 1:40pm on a Saturday (Nov 2025), sort out among the 25 or so indoor seats. Several could sit out front, on a nice day. The weather was a bit cool, and we loved sitting indoors near the little space-heater in the front area. The friendly owner helped us with several questions about the offerings, and we started with a $4.50 bean and cheese Salvadoran pupusa. The farina corn dough was hot, pan-fried to a slight sear on one side, filled with flavor, and came with a small cup of simple tangy fermented cabbage slaw, curtido. The side of clear golden-red tomato non-spicy flavorful salsa-rojo was perfect over the pupusa. They have two or three stand up coolers of canned and bottled beverages, many from Peru and Latin America, and also several that they make themselves. We had a bottled unsweetened lime sparkling-water, Topo Chico, and traditional home-made purple-corn drink, chicha morada, sweet, slightly-fruity, with a hint of clove or cinnamon. Both were very refreshing. As you might guess, the $12 broiled dark-meat quarter-chicken with two sides was our first choice, with Peruvian rice and a small fresh avocado salad. The chicken was just as we wanted it, falling-off-the-bone tender, moist, marinated and gently seasoned throughout, with crispy skin. It was nicely presented on a large pretty plate as a meal, much nicer than fast-food. The generous serving of Chaufa rice is a traditional Chinese-Peruvian recipe of wok-fried rice with shredded chicken, egg, and very-finely chopped veggies, such as bell peppers and scallions. The Inka salad is of fresh lettuce, thin-sliced ripe avocado and tomato and pink pickled onion slices. We chose a small cup of the tangy only-slightly-spicy yellow-color sauce, an Aji Pollero Amarillo, rather than the verde green sauce that the owner said would be spicier. Perfectly cooked and delicious. We also had $18 pan-fried Pescado a la Sarten, sweet white fish, lightly coated and fried, with some of the crunchy tangy picked onions. We added a side of yucca, lightly fried and lightly salted, and as tender as yucca can get :-), more textured than french fries. We used some of that slightly-spicy amarillo salsa as a very complimentary dip. We added steak fries, not an adventurous choice, and they were also lightly fried and lightly salted, and pillowy soft inside. That fish was especially nice, so tender and light and flavorful. We finished with a box of five daisy-shaped home-made Peruvian Alfajores pastries, a pair of thin delicate melt-in-your mouth shortbread-like cookies with a thin layer of purple Peruvian dulce-de-leche sweet jam between. Heavenly! The staff compete to heat the condensed milk just hot enough just long enough for the perfect pastry. The owner tells us that it's all about the timing. Today's recipe has our vote! Somehow, so satisfied from such a delicious meal, we managed to save a couple to take home :-) This is a lovely gentle cozy family-run place to enjoy delicious homemade traditional Peruvian and Salvadoran foods.
