I was told Caribeyond has good Haitian food so I had to come see for myself. The location is tucked in a small plaza with plenty of parking. When you first walk in Haitian music is playing at a moderate level. The aromas of the food is amazing and the restaurant is clean. There are tables set up for small and large parties, and they even have a pool table. The cashier was welcoming, provided menus and answered all the questions I had. After a few minutes I decided to order the fried kabrit fritay. The dish came with pikliz (pickled peppers) fried kabrit (goat) , marinade ( fritters) and akra (a root vegetable yautia). I also got a side of diri blanc and sauce pois blanc ( white rice and white bean sauce). For my drink I went with Couronne. Haiti's brand of fruit champagne soda. Overall I'm rating 9/10. The rice and bean sauce could have been better but it wasn't horrible. The rest of the dish was so amazing. I also loved how their pikliz was not overly spicy and enjoyable with the rest of the platter.Definitely recommend. I know the restaurant offers cuisine from other countries on their menu, but this is primarily a Haitian restaurant so I would highly recommend ordering Haitian food. You will not be disappointed.

Extremely clean I ordered. Jerk chicken & curry chicken The jerk chicken was very tasty & flavorful Curry chicken was ok The cabbage was on point not over cooked Now I'm not a expert on Jamaican food but I've been to 3 establishments in the area with the other on Main Street & another on Route 1 in Laurel This 1 is my favorite Enjoy!

TL;DR - 3.5/5, Probably would make a good take-out meal This is one of the few places around Columbia/Ellicott City where you can find Caribbean food. The restaurant itself is a little hard to find, but there is plenty of parking available. Overall, the food is good although the service was a little slow - I'd actually recommend ordering take out ahead of time for the best dining experience. I got the jerk chicken platter, and curry chicken patty. I would have rather tried the beef patty, but they were unfortunately out of them. I would have personally liked a little more spice on the chicken, but the chicken was very juicy so it balances itself out. The curry chicken patty however, was a little disappointing. I didn't find that the flavors really came through the thick pastry as much as I would have liked, although it was still edible. Overall, while the food certainly isn't the best I've had, it's definitely above average. I certainly wouldn't mind coming here occasionally if I'm feeling like eating some jerk chicken

Cool hole in the wall with great patties! Found this place on uber eats, otherwise I had no idea it was there. Ordered a bunch of their patties and some plantains. I thought the Jamaican beef and curry chicken patties were great. Spinach just so-so and the plantains were not as sweet as I expected, but portion sizes were large and it hit the spot for what I was looking for. Looks like they have the possibility of being a hangout with the pool table.

The food is ok . Trying to support local community and not drive to nearby cities. This was my second visit.Disappointed that there no lunch specials.

Newly opened, woman-owned business. We found it on Yelp as we were traveling to Chevy Chase. Fab plantains, delish spicy steamed cabbage. Located in a strip mall. Outstanding fare.

Unfortunately the quality of food here is not consistent! This is supposed to be curry goat but there's barely any curry. It tastes more like a tomato based stew and goat has a burnt smell & is quite salty.

Jerk Chicken / Mac n cheese / cabbage / rice (after I picked over it)

This popped up as new in the area. So I decided to give it a try. The establishment appears to be nice and clean. Very well lit and bright aesthetic. Placed an order for Jerk Chicken with a side of cabbage, mac n cheese, and a beef patty. I also asked for either jerk sauce or brown stew sauce. Food came out quick and the plate was heavy!!! After getting home and opening my plate I was rather sad. Not sure if I got there too late or if this wasn't a good day but.... Jerk Chicken - Charred with no sauce Mac N cheese- barely a scoop, very bland and dry Cabbage- barely a scoop, decent taste Rice- plenty, was the best thing I ordered Beef Patty- was good as well. I'm willing to give this place a second chance but not anytime soon. Next time I'll be sure to visit during lunch hour. So far it's a solid 2/5 for me. Uploaded a pic realizing that I forgot to take one prior to tasting. I literally ate 2 spoonfuls of the sides. I believe the cabbage is cooked in curry which I don't prefer.

By the way the most unique and different thing for me was BAIJIU! This is the first time I heard and tast! It's strong and tasty. The an other most important thing was, I was the winner for the event! I won the bottle of Oversea Baijiu. Because of my video that I share at instagram I am glad Oversea Distillery and Bar only 10 minutes away from my house! BAIJIU: (pronounced bye-jyo) is a traditional, clear Chinese distilled spirit. Literally translating to "white liquor," it is typically distilled from fermented grains like sorghum, rice, or wheat and ranges from 35% to 60% ABV. As the world's most consumed spirit, it boasts a history spanning millennia How It's MadeUnlike most Western spirits, baijiu relies on qu, a unique starter culture of crushed grains packed with active molds and yeasts. This culture simultaneously converts grain starches into sugars and ferments those sugars into alcohol--a process called solid-state fermentation. The mash is then traditionally distilled in clay or stone pots. Just like wine or whiskey, baijiu isn't a single flavor. It is categorized into four primary styles, though many sub-varieties exist: Strong Aroma: Sweet and pungent with fruity and spicy notes (e.g., Wuliangye). Sauce Aroma: Complex and savory, often likened to soy sauce, fermented vegetables, or dark chocolate (e.g., Kweichow Moutai). Light Aroma: Crisp, clean, and floral, similar to sake or high-end vodka. Rice Aroma: Mild, slightly sweet, and floral, closely resembling other Asian grain spirits like shochu.

We started with a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir (listed at $68.21), which was smooth and paired really well with everything we ordered. That said, this is where things got a little concerning. The waiter initially charged us $110 for the bottle, and if I hadn't caught it, we would have overpaid by a lot. He did fix it, but honestly that's a pretty big red flag and not something you expect at this price point. The charred octopus ($23.18) was a standout. Tender with a smoky char and pickled onions and a creamy sauce that balanced everything out. For the entree, we got the half rack of lamb ($49.18) and the duck breast ($46.18). Both were cooked as we liked. The lamb was flavorful with crispy potatoes, and the duck had a great sear and richness without being too heavy. Dessert was the mango mousse coconut cake ($12.18), which was light and not overly sweet. However, we were told ahead of time it would be complimentary and that they would write "Happy Anniversary" on it neither of those things happened, and we were charged for it. That was disappointing and felt a bit sloppy. Service overall was on the slower side. The one bright spot was the bartender, Abel, who was great and actually made the experience better by offering us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate. Also note there is an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill. Overall, the food and ambiance were strong, but the service issues and billing mistakes took away from the experience. It had the potential to be a really great night, but a few key things were mishandled.

I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! The staff are nice, but service and the kitchen seemed a bit slow on a Sunday early afternoon towards the very end of brunch despite the area we were seated only had a few tables filled. The Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was nothing special - feeling like a flat, single-note dish.. Perhaps it was that the hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity (usually from lemon juice) to brighten the dish. Or, that the nod to Maryland - the Old Bay honey - drizzled around the edges of the dish wasn't enough to elevate it to something that is savored with each bite. The Fluffernutter Blondie is a good dessert choice if you love blondies and peanut butter. Although, it was a bit drier than I'd like, the texture was still soft.

Oddly enough, it was pretty quiet, but they do have the games on for anyone looking for a low-key spot to watch. We were seated within 5 minutes, which I appreciated. Our server, Patrick, was... okay. Not terrible, but definitely felt new to serving. We didn't get the rundown of the daily specials (yet overheard them being given to the booth behind us), and a few small service details slipped through--but I'm giving him grace based on his newness. One thing I noticed from Yelp reviews is that bread is usually served automatically. We had to request it, especially after seeing tables seated after us get theirs first. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. We ordered several appetizers, and honestly, they were filling enough to be a full meal: * Ribs - Flavorful, tender, and genuinely falling off the bone. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent--some pieces were cut shorter than others--but the texture was on point. I'd definitely return for these. * Brussels Sprouts - Patrick didn't mention they were shareable, which would've been helpful. I did like the flavor, but in hindsight I'm glad we pivoted to... * Crab Dip - This one missed for me. The flavor leaned more tuna-ish than crab-forward. Not my preference, but you may feel differently. * Shrimp in Spicy Butter - Definitely spicy, but somehow still flavorless. More like spicy water than a seasoned butter sauce. The one bonus? They were served piping hot--exactly how I like my food. * French Fries - Hand-cut and tasty. A solid win. Unfortunately, everything except the shrimp came out lukewarm, which took away from dishes that could've been great. Temperature matters! On the drink side, though? Hits all around. The fresh-pressed beet juice was fantastic, and the sweet tea was also on point. We skipped dessert only because we were full, but I'm already planning to come back specifically to try it--along with the ribs and fries again. Overall, I'm hoping this was just an off day. Elliott's Kitchen has potential, and I'd like to see it shine on the next visit
