The experience was overall great. Service was good. Sandwiches were made fresh and so were the curry. They offered us soursop drink to taste and it was delicious. The chopped sandwich was flavorful too. I love the pineapple ginger drink. My only hiccup is that the jollof rice had hair in it. like multiple pieces. The music was good and everything. To get to this place you have to drive around back of the office building. It's a small little cafe with big taste! The food was amazing! We got several things that lasted us the rest of the week. They give good portions for a good price. We got jerk chicken over jallof rice and curry goat. Buss up shut, beef patties, chopped cheese sandwich, and a sorrel ginger drink. The food was amazing! Spicy and homey! The great thing is that they use halal meat in their cuisine! It feels like a small lunch cafe, we sat in and had our meal. To start off, the Jamaican patty was delicious. Unfortunately, the oxtail was... terrible. I hate saying that but they were hard and not edible. I couldn't even eat it. I was tempted to take it back but I drove 25 minutes home to eat it and didn't want to drive back. So disappointed! Rice wasn't the best. I was in Columbia for a work related meeting and after seeing this place on TikTok, I knew I had to try it. I got the cabbage bowl which has white rice, cabbage, shrimp, sausage, and peppers / onions. It was honestly perfect! The flavors were so on point and everything was cooked just right. I hate overcooked shrimp. These were cooked just the right amount. My coworker got the cheesesteak on coco bread and I immediately regretted my decision not to order that lol. It looked and smelled delightful. They were so kind as to let me have a bite and it is truly the best cheesesteak I've ever had. I'm happy to have found a Caribbean restaurant right down the road. Saw the reviews on Yelp, and had to try it. The location is a bit hidden behind some office buildings. You'll find it tucked away in a corner of the lot. They have a few seats outside as well as inside. I ordered to-go, but could see sitting in there for lunch. I was pleased with just about everything that I ordered, with the exception of the jerk wings. They were a bit soggy, didn't have as much of the jerk flavor I was looking for. The curry chicken (boneless), was well seasoned and paired nicely with the rice and peas. Overall, I was very happy with the food. Downsides...the wait was a bit long, which isn't always an issue if the food is good. I wasn't a fan of the ordering system. You have to place your order through a kiosk. I get that's what most places use these days, but I'm not a fan. I like to be able to order with a human so I can ask questions and make any special request if needed. The food here is definitely on point!! I originally came here just to pick up a gifted belated bday cake from my cousin, who uses this location as pickup point for her bakery. But I soon realized that this location was a Caribbean restaurant (incidentally, my cousin did not tell me; she just sent me the address), and it was "on" from there!!! This is a family owned and operated restaurant with a husband and wife duo-I believe one is from Trinidad and the other is from the British Virgin Islands (hence the name Anegada). And the food is great!! and everything tasted well seasoned and authentic. I tried almost everything..curry chicken, curry goat, stew oxtails, beef patties, mac and cheese, rice and peas, roti skins (dhal puri). My favorite was the curry goat, but everything was delicious "! They also offer a variety smoothies and drinks, and you know I had to try to the soursop smoothie- it was fantastic!! The service was friendly and personable, the restaurant is clean and open (but a space similar to moderate sized cafe), and there's plenty of free parking since the restaurant seems to be located on the 1st floor of a large office building. I bet they're very busy during lunch hours. Just a heads up, as far as I know- there's open seating, in person ordering is through the kiosk only, they do offer delivery via doordash, and don't be in too much of a hurry, as some items are made to order. I came to Anegada Delights and was overwhelmed by all the menu selections. So many choices! I decided to try 4 different items. Jerk Mac and cheese: creamy and delicious with good jerk seasoning. My one criticism, I'd like the cheesiness to be thicker. I found it a bit runny. Vegetarian Roti: this was filled with chickpeas and potatoes with curry. The flavor was delicious and probably my favorite of the four items. I would like to see more potato in the filling however. Boneless curry chicken platter: this came with a nicely tender curried chicken and I chose the side of rice and peas and plantain. This platter was very good. Lunch special: brown stewed chicken with rice and peas and salad. This was my least favorite only because I'm biased by my sister in law's brown stew chicken. I prefer the flavor of hers more. With that said, the chicken was tender I look forward to going back and trying more menu items. There is a large selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The owner Lee was very friendly and accommodating. My order was to go but there is indoor and outdoor seating available. This place is only open Monday- Friday. No weekends. Anyways, this revised review is about the oxtail meal I got from the restaurant off of Broken Land Parkway. First of all, every time I go there, the owner is very nice and has pleasant conversation. I wasn't really in the mood to talk much but I still appreciated the good natured banter. Now to the oxtail meal...it was sooo freaking good. I got it with the jellof rice and plantains with a side of the best jerk mac n cheese ever! My review last year stated the oxtails had way too much all spice and had no jellof rice. A year later, the total opposite. EVERYTHING was on point! I came here for takeout lunch after reading the amazing Yelp reviews online. The food was soooooo good! Coincidentally, the day after getting takeout here, I learned from a coworker that Anegada is an island in the Caribbean. I had no idea this was the name of an island....learn something new everyday... I ordered the whiting fish jerk combo with rice and beans and plantains. The plantains were very flavorful and soft texture. The fish jerk had amazing spices and it paired perfectly with the mildly seasoned rice and beans. I wasn't even that hungry but I finished all of the fish and plantains and maybe half the rice and beans. Not only did the food taste good, it looked picture perfect! I got the oxtail and jerk chicken combo plate. The oxtails are simply amazing. So good. Cooked to perfection. Absolutely the best! The jerk chicken was really good! I'm typically used to jerk chicken in whole pieces with the skin on it but I really enjoyed Lees version of it. It was like pieces of very tender chicken (meat only. No skin or bone) and it was amazing. The flavor and tenderness is the best I've ever had. Also the jerk mac n cheese is the best Mac n cheese I have ever had. The rice and peas were so good too. My friend got the same exact thing. We both really enjoyed our meal. Also he brought us some special hot sauce. Holy hell, it was full of flavor but very hot! So dam good. What a great meal. I am so impressed with the owner entrepreneur face-man, one and only - Lee, and his staff, and the quality of these savory foods! This is a priceless gem for any Foodie for great authentic Trini /Caribbean flavors in local area ... my senses vacationed as my dreams manifested to reality! Lunch rushes on a Friday can be crazy and overwhelming for restaurants. Although I came about an hour after the restaurant opened, they were already out of a lot of things. That could be a good sign that their food is that popular, or it could be be that they're waiting for a shipment. Also the staff seemed to be flustered as they were trying to bounce between in-store and online orders, I notice that a lot of places are having that issue these days. The atmosphere was very nice and they have both indoor/outdoor seating. Pros: *THE FOOD....period(t) *I loved the intimate size of the restaurant *The owner comes around and talks to people which I loved Cons: *No one had on a hairnet *Wait time for basic things *Lack of uniformity Recommendations: *Have staff designated for in-store/online orders. They're near my dentist's office so I look forward to grabbing takeout after my appointments and their curry chicken patties and veggie patties never disappoint. They make the shrimp and fish entrees fresh to order so you should be prepared for a wait but if you aren't in a rush, this is definitely a worthwhile hidden gem to make your way into the business park for. This is a carryout with a few tables and chairs that has always been clean during my visits and the staff is always friendly despite them always being busy.... For good reason... The escovitch red snapper, boneless stew chicken, boneless curry chicken, and oxtails have always been on point and worth the wait. For my first visit, I went with what I feel sets the tone for anything else I could get: jerk chicken, rice and peas, & plantains. Loved that I didn't even have to tell them to put gravy on the rice. It was all just rich with warm flavors & spices that I had a feeling was coming, since I could smell it from the parking lot. No disappointments, just pure indulgence & satisfaction followed by water because the spices were spicing... As they SHOULD. I got chicken roti(boneless), polourie, and a beef pattie for my first fry. I hadn't even walked through the gates and i could smell the curry goodness wafting in de air!!!!! That was sign number one. Sign number two, as I waited in line and i could see in the fridge fresh veggies. That made me happy. Somebody's cooking for real. The young man at the register was very pleasant. I placed my order through toast tab. I was in Annapolis when I placed the order. Before I got off of 32 I received a text saying that my order was ready. 20-25mins. The beef pattie was a bit crisp on the edges. A little more than i would have liked. The polourie was good. No complaints. The chicken roti was delicious. Wrapped perfectly, it was mild, full of nice big cuts of boneless chicken, potatoes, and peppers. It's really enough for two servings but it was good that even though i was half way through and feeling full i kept going. I did not want to stop. That was damn good. Devour the rest. I barely remember what it looked like Note to myself to go back soon. The day comes. I walk in. Ready to eat anything they've got. I'm recommended what I would soon call the "Holy Sandwich". Cocoa Bread, Lettuce, Grilled Onions, Jerk Chicken and Jerk Sauce. I leave the restaurant again. Can't wait for a park. The service is impeccable and the staff are very friendly. I have been here at least once a week since I found this place.
