I communicated with Alex on the phone and went to the store when I was told they had the refrigerator I wanted. I saw the unit. They are a store to buy dinged and scratched,but new units. Their knowledge is good. The unit I bought had minimal damage and it comes with the factory 1 year warranty. All I can say is I got a new reefer with the factory guarantee for half price that is at the big box stores. It was delivered, extra charge, they set it up. Plumbed the waterline, you have to buy the kit, and made sure everything worked. I got my reefer today. The installers were excellent. No dragging across the floor. So there I was: my dryer was spread out in pieces all over my garage, and I just discovered that the igniter I bought online had arrived broken. It was Saturday afternoon, and everyone in my house needed to do their laundry. Thank God for the Appliance Depot. I think they are the only people who sell appliance parts in San Diego on Saturday Afternoon. They had the igniter in stock (and it was inexpensive to boot.) I drove down to Chula Vista and visited their showroom. They have a lot of good brands of washers/dryers at bargain prices. I saw a brand new set of LG washer/dryer for a really low price, and I wondered why I was even bothering with my old dryer, but I guess that is how cheap I am. It's a family run store, and the people are very friendly. I love family run stores and it kind of reminds me of the way San Diego used to be, back when. Two thumbs up. Would use again. read more

I purchased a stove from them for $6000.Miele. after purchasing this stove about nine months later, the broiler went out, that was $1500 more which was supposed to be covered under the warranty, but it was not. We went to Appliance Depot based on the recommendations here on Yelp, and I can verify that all the positive reviews are well deserved. Did we wind up spending more than we had planned? Yes, BUT we walked out feeling extremely confident in our purchase. Yadi definitely knows her stuff and walked us through all the available options, and explained pros and cons of each. We felt absolutely NO pressure to buy at all. Yadi was courteous, well informed and very thorough. The cherry on top was that they were able to deliver the same day. We walked in the store around 11am, and by 4:30pm our new washing machine was delivered and installed, and the old one was hauled off. After a misfortune, sometimes the stars just align! Wednesday evening, we discovered that our GE French door counter depth model had quit cooling for the THIRD time in 9 years (in addition to several service calls for other issues). By now, I had the routine down pat. First to Smart & Final to buy dry ice ($150 worth!) to try and salvage any food that hadn't already gone bad (it was too late for the broccoli & cauliflower). Next, start calling refrigerator rental firms, but it was already past business hours. Then, go online to schedule a GE service call--the first available date was the following Monday. The next morning, one of the frig rental firms told me they didn't have anything available until next week. The other rental firm didn't open until 11 am. So while waiting for my wife at the optometrist, I started searching for a new refrigerator on my smartphone. We'd heard Samsung's were good and the first frig displayed on the Appliance Depot website was the exact one I was searching for. I called and spoke to Yadi (who merits the great reviews I read about her here) and asked when the unit could be delivered. She surprised me when she said today between 12 and 2! Using my credit card, I ordered the unit over the phone about 10 am and by 1 pm, our new Samsung frig was delivered and installed by a very efficient and polite crew. We bought our LG mega front load steam washer & Electrolux dryer from here about 5yrs ago when they were located in Escondido. After our 3rd craigslist washer quit I said enough is enough, its time we buy a new one. After weeks of research I knew which brands to look for & what features I wanted. They didn't have them on the floor of course (the models I coveted had just come out) but while we were chatting I mentioned how much I'd love to get the new LG mega-load steam washer. She said "just a moment, let me see what price we could get it for"...clicked away on the computer & came back with a price that made my jaw drop. I knew how much the retail price was...even after scouring every single labor day sale the week before I couldn't come close to the price they offered. PLUS it was brand spanking new...they ordered it & picked it up from the manufacturer for me! She was surprised I didn't want the matching dryer but quickly looked up the electrolux dryer I desired and once again beat the price. After confirming all the details were correct, the final total, and time frame for ordering we happily ordered. They called once the washer & dryer were at the store, picked them up the next day, and have been in laundry heaven ever since! The only hiccup was when I realized the interior dryer rack was missing a week later but they quickly made it right & the Mr picked it up later that week. This place was super friendly and efficient. We were shopping desperately for a refrigerator last minute because ours gave out and we found out this place delivered next day. We picked out our refrigerator and saw what looked like a scratch. It ended up looking like the plastic cover. Before we purchased, the lady helping us went out of her way to remove the plastic just to make sure the scratch wasn't on the actual fridge. The process was super quick and the delivery fee was only $25. The men who delivered were incredibly careful installing and removing our old fridge. Awesome small appliance store that was somewhat hard to find because it is so small you could just drive by without seeing it. There are no big signs, just look for a small place next to Taco Niyeli that has a sign saying "APPLIANCES". We had a great deal for our washer and dryer here. These work much better than our previous washer/dryer set which was rented out to us. It definitely saves us money that we no longer rent a washer and dryer. They were reliable with customer service and delivery. We loved our experience here, it was low pressure and it seemed like there were enough people calling and coming in the store to keep them busy. Our washer and dryer was delivered within a week as promised although it was delivered tied to the back of a pickup truck. It looks like the truck was modified just for delivery so I felt that it was safe and it wasn't jumping around in the back. They also installed it for us and they worked fast. I definitely recommend this place to check out if you're looking for appliances. We went shopping in the big name appliance stores as well and found that this place had the best deals for a washer and dryer. We had the best customer service here and the best experience with delivery. Their delivery fee was much cheaper than the big store appliance! However, they have a much smaller selection than many appliance stores. If you pay cash instead of card, they give you a discount. Sometimes, it's worth it to pay cash. We decided to pay credit to get the miles and in case anything happens, we have payment protection. They also service the washer and dryer for free for 3 years. We would just have to pay for the parts if needed. They have a selection for "scratch and dent" fridges, other kitchen appliances, and used washer and dryers. read more

At the terminus of a court, off the next-to-last exit before you hit the Mexican border in one of Chula Vista's many scenic small industrial warehouse districts (incidentally and conveniently located next door to a brewery tasting room), I found one of the best kept locals-only secrets in San Diego: Appliance Depot. I found this place here on Yelp and, after a terrible experience with a big box store, I was happy to see the many great reviews for this locally owned and operated business and decided it would be worth a trip. And it was! The storefront is very deceiving...the back of the place houses a fairly large and well-stocked, if eclectic, selection of many different makes and models. (The website does not do the place justice.) Problematically, the appliance I sought was a washing machine, but it had to be a mere 24" wide to fit my laundry space. Appliance Depot came to the rescue with a reconditioned one that matched my dryer, but after 10 days it kicked it and I gave the store a call back to ask what we should do. The washer was fully covered with their 45 day warranty, and the owner gave me 3 options to choose from as to obtaining a replacement. I took the NEW higher-quality washer (only slightly scuffed) that was offered for a few more dollars, and I am very happy I did. I do not think I could afford such a nice, quiet washing machine without experiencing the first problem, and I am extremely satisfied at the way things worked out. They took very good care of me! Do yourself a favor. Skip Home Depot and Lowes and get your appliances here. This little store provides BIG savings. After doing a lot of shopping around, we decided to try the Appliance Depot after finding it on an internet search. As other reviewers mentioned, it can be hard to spot. We definitely drove by it on our first trip and had to circle back. It's a small hole in the wall place. The salesperson was so helpful. I wish I had got her name. She knew a lot more about appliances than anyone I had spoken with at Lowes, Home Depot or Sears. It was a hot day and she gave everyone water bottles, which was sweet. She walked us through the pluses and minuses of different features, the benefits of American vs. Foreign make, and which brands they got the most service calls on. She was really upfront with pros and cons and not overly salesy, just really helpful. The prices are amazing. The appliances at this store are refurbished, overstock or scratch n' ding. Generally, and scratches or dings are very minor. And, the overstock stuff is in brand new. They don't have every option from every brand, and they often have limited supply. But, what they do have is all priced well below everywhere else. You can check their Web site to see when new items come in. But, if you like something, get down there because they go quickly! We bought three appliances from The Appliance Depot and couldn't be happier. Our KitchenAide fridge was almost $2,000 off and brand new. It was one of four overstocks they had brought in that week. The Whirlpool range was over $500 off because of a small dent in the side. It was on the side that slides into the cabinet, where no one will ever see it. The dishwasher was only $50 off, also an overstock. But, really, great prices all around. I got all the appliances for less than the cost of that refrigerator at Lowes. I took off one star because their delivery team scratched the wood of my kitchen floor. It's cheap wood, and prone to scratching. The previous owners had already roughed it up so it wasn't pristine or anything. But still, I would rather not have had another scratch. The delivery team also came in the last ten minutes of the two hours window provided, and of course stayed for over an hour to hook things up. So, I had to take a bigger chunk of time off work than I would have liked. But, since those problems occur with almost every delivery group everywhere, I think they were relatively minor - especially when put in perspective in how much money you can save by shopping here. I would recommend them to anyone remodeling their kitchen or thinking about upgrading their laundry room. read more
