Instead of just ignoring it or rushing through, they were so professional and kind about the situation, explaining what they saw and giving me the time to address it. They removed and hauled away the old dishwasher. They were nice enough about putting installation on hold until I deal with the mold situation in my kitchen. They botched the job from the beginning to the end and not only couldn't install the dishwasher but possibly permanently scratched my travertine tile all the way down our floor with their apparent incompetence and poorly maintained hand cart. I have attempted to resolve this through email exchange and they suddenly don't seem interested in communicating. Almost a shock! Ruben (I think his name is?) and his crew seem as if they get paid the same whether they do the job correctly or at all, so it seems like their mentality is why even bother taking the extra effort to do it properly?! Benjamin did a great job installing my Bosch dishwasher this morning! We were the first stop so they came pretty early around 7AM which was what they told us the prior day. They let me inspect the dishwasher first to make sure there wasn't any manufacturers defect or issues during shipping, so that was great . Then for the install, they put a mat down on the floor to protect my flooring in front of the dishwasher. They removed the old one with ease and installed the new one very quickly. They ran it to ensure everything was hooked up correctly.. Then I inspected the dishwasher as well as the surrounding area for any damage and it was completely damaged free . --The guys came back and installed the damper on Friday (original install date was Wednesday). All done, happy with it now. Neat and tidy after installing the damper. This vent was never installed correctly on our previous microwave and as such we never had a vent hood, it just vented into the room despite a perfectly lovely vent being available. We have a good extraction fan and vent now! We want to be able to do high heat cooking. The damper is important because for years this was just a cold air sink straight into the kitchen. This company was contracted to be the preferred service provider for Aztec. They performed a measurement visit, which is standard and I appreciated. They wanted to be paid for that initial visit which I also understand. They seemed a little paranoid about payment and reminded me three different ways that payment would need to be collected. I didn't think much of it other than it was a little persistent. When the 4 appliances were actually installed for over $1100, they added the first measurement visit as if it was never paid (of course it was). One of the installers was not helpful. He was Incomplete in removing all of the plastic and stickers and left the refrigerator unbalanced and in a crooked position. He told me that the fridge was crooked because the floor was not level, which I verified was not the case. The refrigerator has adjustable legs and can easily levelled with a little effort. It was clear that the only effort the installer was going to do was to place the fridge, but even that didn't go well. He connected the water to my copper RO valve, and when he pushed the fridge in place he pushed it all the way to the back of the wall which tweaked the valve and caused a leak that leaked down through the garage ceiling -- I'm not sure who is at fault for that one or if that was just unlucky. The installer left me manuals and parts, but did not tell me which parts went with which appliance unless I asked. And when I asked questions about the left over parts, he was short with the answers and threw annoyed looks at his partner (yes - I saw that). I asked them to be careful with the walls and railings. They did not even clear a path, such as simply moving chairs toward a table or closing accordion doors before picking up the appliances and moving them inside the house. Two weeks prior, the walls were newly painted and now I have about a half a dozen nicks in the wall and railings that need to be repaired. His comment leaving was that it wasn't too bad relatively. They were supposed to deliver a new handle for one of the appliances and install it, but they did not have the handle. I don't think that was their fault, but when they called to schedule the installation of the handle, I asked if there would be a charge and the scheduler said that she would have to check. That clearly was frustrating since I told her there shouldn't be a charge, so I started to share my entire experience with the scheduler (partly out of frustration with the experience). Admittedly, I was partly just venting, but instead of showing empathy, she decided to escalate the situation by telling me the call was unprofessional and needed to end it. It ended without resolution or the handles I paid for. I won't be using this company again. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is that it's not easy to install new appliances and remove the old. It can be done better. Find the company doing it better. read more

I am pleasantly impressed by South Coast Installs, specifically Julio and Alan. They arrived at the beginning of the estimated time window, completed my dishwasher installation in 30 minutes (might have been less), were very communicative and knowledgeable, and installed the appliance perfectly. Ben installed GE double wall oven for me. There was a complication - the oven didn't fit! Ben had to modify the cabinet for me by cutting out the backboard and using a trim piece to raise the oven. This was a surprise to me because I expected the new oven to be the same size as the old one. I was worried about cabinet modification will damage my cabinet but Ben assured me it's will not and he is confident that he can do it well. He did a great job and handled the job smoothly. I ordered a dishwasher from Lowes on February 14th. I paid for hauling away my old dishwasher and delivery/installation of the new one. I saw it was delivered to the store within a weeky after I placed the order. Lowes sent me a notification the unit would be delivered March 5th. When it wasn't delivered that day, I contacted Lowes on March 6th to find out why. Then Lowes contacted this company, South Coast Installs, for status. It took 30 minutes for Lowes customer service to reach them and get an update. Even she sounded frustrated dealing with them. They finally delivered on March 10th. The delivery men told me they couldn't install it because of alleged damage to the valves. They told me they could replace the valves for $280 but they would have to shut off my water. Then they claimed it might cost more depending on if pipes got clogged. I told them never mind and asked if they could just haul away the old one. They gave me some excuse why they couldn't. I saw another review here where someone said South Coast Installs tried to swindle $230 before installing their dishwasher. No bueno. Side note: If you have a Costco membership, check them first. Ben did an outstanding job with my new dishwasher install. He encountered several problems with the way the old dishwasher was installed originally in 2001. He was able to fix all of those issues and complete the install. It was a lot of physical work including plumbing and electrical. He went above and beyond in dealing with Lowe's on my behalf. One issue was I had paid for all of the parts needed to complete the installation but Lowe's did not include them with the delivery. He spoke with them a number of times about different issues. The handle was slightly marred and he arranged to have a replacement dishwasher scheduled for delivery. Ben is very professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable.
