Recently visited The Aquarian for colon hydrotherapy to support the aid in digestion, as well as, cleanse out my colon during a specific a regimented parasite cleanse. In summary, after 2 colonics, I was told that my colon isn't suitable for his service, if i weren't to take the "knock off" psyllium husk supplement the Mr. Alcyon pushes on every single client who visits him. At the end, I was refunded for services not rendered as I would not take psyllium husk before the treatments as it wasn't suitable for me to take. After I was still gaslighted due to not taking "his supplement" prior to treatment, I received a colonic from another therapist on island and my experience was completely different. I a) had stool move through the treatment, and B) was told that other patients were actually sent to her and even sent to the hospital due to the supplement Mr. Alcyon pushed on them. 1. This supplement, he explains, is the "ONLY THING" that will help the process. The supplement is 100% psyllium husk, ground finely, then he sticks his label on it and resells it. 2. Mr Alcyon does not rely on labs to confirm whether you can handle psyllium husk nor what your colon truly needs, however he solely pushes you to take this supplement, or else. He doesn't consider other regimens you're currently on, it's his or nothing. He also mentioned things don't work because of the shape of your colon, which he doesn't know as he's never seen images of it. 3. His bedside manner is direct which is great, however will become to borderline abusive especially when you're 1/2 naked with a tube up your behind and he doesn't see the result he wants -- which he says is only "because you're not taking his knock off supplement". Overall I am shocked this behavior is acceptable especially from a male therapist rendering vulnerable services to women. Note: I did try to take this supplement and was instantly constipated for 4-5 days. Once I stopped taking it, I was normal. While many visit Mr. Alcyon, I recommend you review what type of experience you want to have prior to getting the treatment done here. There are other practitioners who don't require you to take supplements for treatment and make you feel safe, comfortable and empowered.

About 30 minutes from Diamond Head on the opposite side of the island. Next to 7-11.

I'm traveling from Miami to Honolulu and my daughter wasn't doing well. I've gone to the best colonics in Miami and other cities because I know how important that is for health and traveling affects my digestion as well. The Aquarian really did the job for my daughter. It was like finding a hole in the wall cafe, with gourmet food. The place is a dive but everything that needed to be sanitary, was in perfect protocol. The "Dr" was rude a hell but Im sure he's a very nice person deep down. He has a NY soup kitchen humor vibe. The treatment was so effective and well done, that it didn't even bother me. I'm just sharing that point for expectation purposes. He treated my daughter very well and she was comfortable, all things considered. He provided a lot of explanations and a beneficial, nasty tasting, fiber treat at the end. It was a nice touch. The place is a dump but the guy is probably the best in the business.

I came to see Alcyone with my husband and the two of us had back to back sessions. It sounds like it would be awkward but it was actually really comforting to have someone there with you! It's not a painful procedure but there is definitely a lot of pressure. Alcyone will give you a towel and then have you remove your bottoms in the bathroom. When you lay on the table, your completely covered, and the procedure can begin. You're going to learn a lot about your colon and you get to see exactly what's coming out! It's cash only and included is a fiber drink he will expect you to drink on the spot. My husband and I felt really good after the procedure was done and even scheduled another just to make sure nothing was left behind. Highly recommend for anyone having digestive issues.

This packet mix with his fiber & 10 oz water. (See my review for details).

Dr. Alcycone is amazing at what he does! He's been doing this for 45 years. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He is so great to put me at ease (1st time trying this). He answers any questions you have and you get a discounted rate if you book the 3 sessions ($115 per session or $275 for 3 sessions). I booked 3 sessions (frequency is follows: 1st session done, then come back 1 week later, then 2 weeks later). He will give you a container of fiber which you mix a heaping spoonful with 10 oz of water + add the packet. You will need to go to a health store (like Down to Earth) and add a packet of the brand Trace Minerals Power Pack of electrolytes/vitamins. They come in many flavors (he makes you one after your 1st session). https://www.traceminerals.com/product/sugar-free-electrolyte-stamina-power-pak-citrus-flavor You will need to drink this daily and then 4 days before your following session, drink it twice a day. Mind you, your fecal matter will come out ropey, but do not be alarmed. It's normal. Each session my tummy feels so good and emptied out! The fiber will make you feel a bit bloated but necessary to help with your sessions..please take it!

My previous orthopedic surgeon told me to get bariatric surgery and when I lost enough, then I could have knee surgery. We had a parting of the ways instead. My current orthopedic surgeon first referred me to a hospital weight management program. One of the best things that happened was the clinic was moving offices and didn't get back to me in a timely fashion. In the meantime, my doctor asked if I wanted to try keto. Sure, I said, why not? One year after starting a supervised keto diet with Dr. Jodi, I've lost 75 lbs, halfway to the minimum amount I want to lose. Knee replacement surgery for the right side is scheduled to take place in a couple of months, with surgery on the left side happening three months later. You ease into the diet and ketosis. If you follow it, it is unlikely you will experience keto flu. You get food lists and guidance, not meal plans, which wouldn't work for me as I have multiple food allergies and some dislikes. The plan is balanced, low carb, and lower fat. Healthy eating that can be sustained for a lifetime. For various reasons, I deviated twice from the diet. Never again. Once I ate rice. It threw me out of ketosis and I felt sick for two days. I had to restart the diet. Recently I ate canned luncheon meat slices and hot dogs. It was eat that, or nothing. I should have gone with nothing. Soon it felt as though there was a pile of bricks in my stomach. I threw up six times. My stomach could not take that much fat anymore. I was a sugar fiend. I couldn't stand any bitter taste or overpowering foods. I no longer crave sugar. In fact, I rarely eat anything sweet anymore. I have 90% dark chocolate now and then and things like bell peppers now without a problem. Before, I couldn't stand these. My taste buds have been reprogrammed. I realized texture is way more important to me than I thought. I go online and try various keto recipes. Most are quick and easy and are delicious. If you share your keto dishes with others, and you didn't tell others they were low carb, they'd never know, because they taste so good. Because I get enough protein, I am rarely hungry. My hair and nails grow very fast. Dr. Jodi and I meet via telehealth, which is great for me. In between appointments, if I have questions, I email her. The diet requires patience and a focus on the long-term. Weight loss is not a linear process. You may occasionally gain a bit, which is a sign the diet is out of balance - maybe too much fat, water retention from too much salt, etc. I keep a food and drink diary that I share with Dr. Jodi before each appointment so she can provide feedback. I have two friends doing keto unsupervised. Both are struggling. It's been easy for me, but of course everyone is different. I went online to see what some websites say about keto, and they've twisted it to be a meat (fat) heavy diet. Bad for your health and unsustainable, even if you lose weight. Dr. Jodi supervises a clean keto diet, emphasizing whole, fresh foods. There are many packaged products out there labeled as keto. Yes, they are low carb, but they are not healthy and are filled with crap ingredients. This is the only diet I've been on that I feel I can sustain and won't gain the weight back afterwards. I check out restaurant menus to see which ones have things I can eat. So I'm still able to eat out or get restaurant food delivery. Keto isn't for everyone. But you can try it, and if it doesn't suit you, you can stop. At least you tried.

The only action taken was ordering a blood draw. It took a full week just to receive the requisition form, something our other doctors always provide the same or next day. When the requisition finally arrived, we noticed tests were ordered that we had specifically said were not needed (such as cortisol and thyroid panels), because our daughter's endocrinologist regularly monitors those. After the blood draw, communication essentially stopped. We emailed a week later asking if results had been received and also asked for guidance ordering a stool test, mentioning that we wanted to schedule our next appointment once that was done and also mentioning that our daughter isn't doing well. We never received any reply. Even after blood results were available and uploaded in our patient portal, there was no follow-up, and no review of the findings, even though there were some abnormal blood markers. The office simply never contacted us again. Given the lack of communication, lack of guidance, and absence of a treatment plan, we cannot recommend this provider. We felt our daughter was ultimately abandoned without any follow-through despite her not feeling well and our attempt to move forward with care.

I tried to leave and they physically restrained me after I said these words "You do not have permission to touch my body." They violated my space in a big way, and that is illegal. You don't have a right to hold a patient down who does not want to be touched. I was already out the door at that point. You're lucky you didn't get sued. Then when I was sitting on a bench waiting for my husband, and meditating to calm myself down, they threatened to call security and HPD to remove me. I'm thinking go ahead, maybe they will give me a ride. Then they did send a humongous security guard who told me I was trespassing on private property and had to leave right that moment. WTF? I'm a little old lady who didn't want to be manhandled either. He was my son's age and was polite and just doing the job they told him to do. I don't blame him. It was those nurses that caused the whole incident from beginning to end. None of them could seem to realize that all I was ever trying to do was leave peacefully. I was in the ER for a reason. I wish i had better words to describe what an amazing experience it was to have my baby at [Adventist Health] Castle's Vera Zilber Birth Center. First off, though not the most important factor, the facility is *stunning*. With the ko'olau mountains as the backdrop, lush greenery all around, a bed for your labor coach, lots of free parking for friends and family, a jacuzzi tub to labor in, delicious food- what more could you ask for? Oh, right... amazing staff and care. Well, guess what? You get that ten-fold here. At 4am on a rainy day in October 2018 at 39 weeks pregnant, my water broke and hubby and I rushed to the hospital. We'd packed our bags ahead of time and we were already registered there so very little paperwork was needed. They checked us in and ushered us to the triage room where they confirmed that my water broke and measured how dilated I was. They informed my doctor immediately and took us to our huge suite where we could get settled and comfortable. I knew the baby's head was turned a bit weird because i was laboring in my back more and so it took 9 hours of labor and *3 hours* of pushing to get my 8lb baby out! They offered me different laboring options with a bar to get baby to come down more and the wonderful jacuzzi tub to sit in with jets. I requested to do a natural, unmedicated birth and was supported the whole way through. Dr. Chapman is one of *the top* OBGYNs in the country and I was privileged enough to have her be the one to deliver my baby (and sew me up - ouch!). She really is one of the most knowledgeable and respected doctors out there. The staff is absolutely incredible. Hands down the BEST. They took the time to get to know me and offered tailored care for me, my baby and my husband. They were so attentive and respectful. Every time there was a shift change, the nurses updated the chart but READ mine beforehand and obviously spoke to the other nurses to learn my situation and what i needed. I was always greeted with a smile. The day charge nurse would introduce me to the night nurse and they always made sure that i knew who they were, what they were doing, what me and my baby needed, they helped me with my lactation issues, arranged for a lactation consultant to further assist me, made sure my husband and i were comfortable, etc. To put it simply, I wasn't a room number. I was their patient. They really cared for us and gave us the one-on-one attention that we needed. They encouraged baby-friendly tactics to enrich our bond as a family, as new parents. They gave and taught us tools that were invaluable for when we brought our baby home. I can't express enough how wonderful everyone was. We were so blessed to have our baby here and be cared for by each and every staff member. A very special thank you to the following staff members and nurses who just really shined (whose names I can remember): Melody, Candace, Ashley, Grace, Malia, Carolyn, Tamy, Leah and Regina. For a caring and VIP birth experience, choose Vera Zilber. ***Note: Each suite has a jacuzzi tub, bed for your labor coach and a fridge for your snacks and drinks. If you like, you can bring your own pillows for extra comfort. They do not provide meals for your labor coach/significant other but there is an amazing cafeteria in the hospital called the bistro. Honestly, hubby and I just shared the food they gave me because it was so much anyway and we had our snacks and a baby to keep us busy .
