I had high hopes for the Armory. Extensive remodel and prime location,I expected it to be a "destination " restaurant attracting clients from all over the area. First visit, rooftop seats very nice, ordering No frills menu,expecting an expansion of the menu later on. Drinks-Makers Old Fashioned and a Chardonnay for the lady. We both had Caesar Salad one chicken one shrimp. The chicken was from a deep fried patty and both were served in a recyclable press paper container The lettuce was head lettuce not Romain as you would expect. We had the most amazing experience this past weekend. We stayed at the Lumberjack Hotel across the street and were pleasantly surprised at what a great experience was located just across the street. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, there was a jazz band playing and the outdoor patio with misters was a nice respite after a long drive. Every employee there was not only welcoming and attentive, but you could tell they really loved working there. The food and drinks were perfect, and the setting with the warm evening was perfect. Having a fuzzy time remembering everyone's name, but the owner, manager, and staff were so positive and took the time to really engage with us. I don't ever post reviews, but I give this 10 stars for the service and atmosphere. Make this a definite stop on your travels!!! read more

The food just was not very good dry taco shells cold meat we had told our friends how good it was not this time they should bring back the French dip and the Reuben have better food. I was meeting my daughter and her BF there, and when I walked in I was confused. There is no one to greet you and tell you which way to go. I texted my daughter and found them upstairs. I had the steak and waffle fries and the steak was very good but the fries were soggy due to them being under the steak. Served in takeout containers. That's weird. Pretzel appetizer was delicious. Amazing! Elise and the entire staff made our High School reunion more than what we could have imagined. The appetizers were absolutely incredible! The Kennedy Room is beautiful by itself, but it allowed us the perfect foundation to set things up perfectly. Everyone who attended was blown away by The Armory! My son and I took my husband here for dinner, to celebrate his 60th birthday. We pass this restaurant on a regular basis, as we are fairly local, but have never tried it until now. Boy, have we been missing out! From the outside of the building, to the bar area, barrel room, balcony area, to even the restrooms, the ambiance is awesome! The restaurant is clean and roomy. The menu is very small, with not a huge selection of foods, but when you're experiencing excellence, you don't need pages and pages of food items. The cocktail and beer choices are large and delicious! My blackberry Mojito was NOT watered down!!! The giant pretzel was the best one I've ever had, and my son and I order them at every restaurant we visit! My husband loved his short rib tacos and chips and salsa. My son loved his short rib sandwich! I had the chimmichuri shrimp and it was wonderful! The service was very quick and the waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant to have a conversation with. We will definitely be back! read more

This review would have been a 4 or 5 if the service was remotely decent. The foor is good. The place has a gokd vibe. We were there today (July 4th 2025). We sat upstairs. There was maybe 50% of the tables in use at 1:00 pm. Our waitress didn take our order until 1:25. It took another 25 minutes to get our food. I don't blame out waitress, I think it is on the ownership. We have eaten there a half dozen times over the past 12 months, and it has been the same each time. We won't be back. read more

The live music is always fun, but as a local the menu is a bit tired. There's nothing really exciting for the plant based crowd, except the Buddha bowl which I got last time and the rice was under cooked and the tocos, which have no protein. Great venue for a meal with groups large or small. We came here with 16 on a weeknight and were able to sit the party between two picnic tables. The menu is great, the nachos with either meat are our favorite and the cocktails are nicely curated as well. As a non-regular we did find the seating/seating yourself a bit confusing because they have three different areas with differing rules. My favorite spot was at the bar in the Bourbon Barrel, a bourbon bar. They have other drinks, but why wouldn't you drink bourbon there? The food, drinks, and service are fantastic. Need gluten free food? This place has GF items and provides options to modify other dishes to be GF. I had a delicious burger with gluten free bun and asked for the shoe string fries (without asking if they were safe). From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff, pointing us towards the bar, the beer on tap, and the restaurant. I got the Cowboy Smash Burger... yum!!! I'd give this spot a 4.5. I wish we had 1/2 stars (a complaint I will make until I die or Yelp gives 1/2 stars). I've been here a few times for both work events and personal events. Can't go wrong with one of their classic margaritas. Always good and well made. Great for groups and a more casual hang out vibe during the warmer months with all of the lovely outdoor space. Parking can be tight during peak season and during peak hours so keep that in mind. Regarding the work event - we rented the Kennedy room and they catered an entire dinner with dessert. The food was so good! Not what's on the regular menu and there were lots of options to choose from. Everything was on time and went off without a hitch. Everyone was highly satisfied with the meal and ambiance. Service was friendly and they were so, so helpful to us the whole way through! We went in last Wednesday. Although, the place is different for downtown and has a very cool layout. The menu is lacking and leaves a little to be desired. The food we did have was decent. The service was okay but you never want your bartender telling you what you ordered. It's nice to say "oops my mistake" and just give you the correct beer. What an experience, especially if you live here, passing through from skiing or up at the lake, not to mention intentionally making the over one hour drive. They have their own parking lot, you walk into the the open bar where you are welcomed with a beer tap waterfall, you find stairs that lead up to the top which provides two couches around 2 separate fireplaces. The rest of the seating is not accompanied by any heaters (which is weird for outside venue). There are about 20+ beers on tap, including some ciders. As you walk back downstairs, you walk into another space that has a couple of tables to the left is a door.... becareful as the door opens up the alleyway/street.... to the far right in a huge open space... maybe event seating? Right before that door is a 4-wall seating space that seems enclosed and for larger parties.... back to the left is a barrel entrance that opens up to the Whiskey bar. In all areas you can order food on the app or through the servers in the Whiskey room. They offer several drinks... quite a few flights... small wine selection and the beer can only be ordered in the beer room. The food..... one word AMAZING! I ordered what essentially was nachos fries (normally came with waffle fires, but definitely try it with the shoestring fries) which was enough for two people (it was shared).... ordered Sliders (2 different ones available and able to choose 1 and 1)... I tried one and absolutely loved the texture and flavors, well balanced. Didnt get a chance to try the other as it was gobbled up quickly. The shoe string fries were a nice touch and perfectly seasoned. The chicken sandwich was so good my cousin ate the entire thing. Munchkin ate his chicken tenders and was full enough that he didn't finish his fries. Would definitely come back, the atmosphere and food is worth the drive, just gets a bit chilly in other areas (except the whisky room) and the bathrooms were tidy and well kept. Service was super friendly, it can be a bit confusing when you walk in as it is unconventional and after stumbling through the entire place (while we were greeted by staff) there was no direction. So we asked and was gladly provided the information to make our decision for where to place our bodies to dig into some food. The Whiskey flight and the Bourbon flight both came with a glass of water to rinse your mouth in between tasting the liqours. The Carmel Whiskey was a favorite. The mixed drinks were absolutely strong and deliciously fresh. The chia was super smooth, a very dangerous drink as it doesn't tasted like alcohol.
