    Calamari and LPC sauce (lemon-parsley-capers)
    Jennifer D.

Our server,Sarah, was pleasant and quick and kept beverages full. We ordered the polenta sticks which were hot and crispy and came with 2 dipping sauces, and the calamari, which had a lemon-parsley-caper aioli for dipping. Wish I lived closer to come again soon!

Gateway Tapas and Spirits replaces Charlottes tavern and its a wonderful place in groveland with great hospitality, drinks and food. Everyone super kind and attentive with customers best interests at heart.

    Side & quinoa salad
    Jenn N.

We arrived on a Saturday evening, height of the dinner rush, and on a holiday weekend. The place was packed and looking in from the outside we were not sure how long it was going to take to be able to eat. Finn greeted us all with a smile and an incredible level of down home hospitality. We ordered our food and a table was cleared off for us right away. After seeing the suggestive glow of neon bourbon happiness shining in the corner, we went all in on Old Fashioneds and we were not disappointed. They have an incredibly impressive list of beers on drought too. How can you go wrong with Pliney, Red Seal, Old Rasputin..need I say more? Everything we ordered was incredible. The bone in pork chop will be something I'm dreaming about for awhile. Flavorful, moist, tender, with just the right amount of fire grilled crust on the exterior. I don't even like sweet potato fries but I could not stop eating these. The curry aoili perfectly complimented them. The quinoa salad was fresh, not to heavily dressed and the goat cheese propelled it to the next level. Do not miss this stop!

    Korean style ribs

Food: korean style bbq ribs, veggies, and coleslaw The ribs were a little bit in the saltier side but delicious. Fall of the bone meat. Veggie were well seasoned . Customer service: i felt like I was at home. Everyone was very kind and they treat you like family. Definitely A+ customer service!!! The ambience is perfect for families with kids..This restaurant is inside a hotel. We will definitely be back.

10/10 experience with my husband and our two fur babies!! Ashley was so kind and patient with our two large dogs. Food was DELISH and we would 10/10 come again.

first of all Finn and Shanna are the best "hosts ". enjoy the beer garden.... I had the Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables... (Excellent) and my husband had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken.... he loved it.... but what put this place a "favorite " for me is that, They are a dog friendly restaurant

    Porterhouse steak for 2

This place was exactly what a friend and I wanted after a long day hike at Hetch Hetchy. We ordered the Pence Farm Bread Basket, the Porterhouse Steak for 2, and a hot buttered rum. The bread came with this great butter that had a sweetness to it, the steak was a perfect medium rare with a chipotle bourbon sauce that had a nice kick, and the buttered rum was so good after being cold outside. We wanted to try the buttered pecan ice cream but they ran out that night. They also have this awesome system in which other generous individuals have paid forward meals for those less fortunate. The service itself while sitting was great, but the initial service you must walk to the counter to order your meals and proceed to seat yourself. Which really isn't an issue, but when we had walked up to the counter and said hello the staff only replied with "wait one minute... what are you guys wanting". Other than that the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere.

Back patio facing the hotel. The string lights were ambient and the patio was busy until the end of the evening.

Charlotte's Tavern has the best food in town and the friendliest folks. After a long day hiking on the trail, their hot honey chicken sandwich hit the spot in all the right ways. We opted to sit on the back patio which was lively with several parties hanging out until later in the evening. Overall, Charlotte's tavern was the perfect place to end a perfect day!

Super cute place. Unexpected find in gold country. Felt like something out of Healdsburg and not in the typical burgers and taco joint that we expected. Tesla supercharger a block away too. Owners are very warm and inviting. Food was very good and welcomed after eating bar food for 2 days. Phrase to describe this place... Charmingly Good.

Great place, try the venison if it's on the menu The meatloaf and various salads are just great also.. Great place for the whole family....

This restaurant is a true gem. If you have a chance to visit Charlottes Tavern, order the venison if it's on the menu. They also offer a great meatloaf with a bourbon glaze along with great salads. For a small town ambiance, they offer big city quality and talent. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Shana, she works hard and will go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your dining experience!!

Not only can you tell the staff love working here, but the food is damn good. Its better than damn good. Its EXCEPTIONAL. And oh my goodness how dare I forget the MOST PERFECT MARTINI. She had us laughing, remembered everyone's orders without missing a beat, and when we wanted to add something at the last minute, she got it in right before the breakfast cutoff. That kind of quick thinking and warmth is rare, and it made the morning feel easy and fun for the whole group. Tanner took care of us at dinner and was equally impressive. Polite and attentive, he checked on us often and kept everything running smoothly even with a full docket and several family parties in his section. Juggling that many tables while making each one feel looked after is no small feat, and he handled it with real composure. Both were fun, flexible, and quick -- the kind of servers who make you want to come back. Thank you!

Pros: Great servers…read moreGood kids meals options Food was reasonably tasty most of the time Big issue though. Weirdly and bizarrely stingy, especially with breakfast menu. We're a captive audience staying at an expensive hotel, I get that things will cost more. For breakfast though, coffee is $12 for a "French press for 2". 2 mugs are provided and you'd be quite lucky to get a mug and a half of coffee out of it. Also the coffee is not great but that's a different issue. $12 for 2 people to feel like they didn't get much coffee is a bummer. Also we got the lox bagel one morning. It was an open face lox sandwich ON HALF A BAGEL. I asked the server, surely a mistake, where is the other half bagel? Menu suggests "a bagel", which would suggest an item totaling a single bagel. The server fought the good fight with their GM and got us another half a bagel. Such a bizarre thing. I get that food costs are high and all, but in that environment you can charge a little more and ensure customers don't feel like they're being squeezed. It's ok to be expensive and generous (at a luxury resort). It's not ok to be pretty expensive and stingy. My tip, grab a coffee at the shop next to the lobby, and a bagel there too while you're at it.

They have limited hours so make sure you plan for it, and they also host events throughout the week which means live music isn't always available. The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!
