Again, United/Armstrong Moving Company has proven they lack any knowledge on how to deliver customer service. The President, Mr. Jon Rapp replied to our review on Yelp asking us to call him at 770-368-0368 to discuss the move with him directly. We called his number, SURPRISE WENT TO VOICE MAIL, NO REPLY FROM MR. RAPP AS OF JAN.29, 2025. Also sent him an e-mail with photos attached showing him a wardrobe box that we opened, that they delivered, numbered 192, MARKED CLOTHES, that was completely empty. Now we wonder, WHERE ARE THE CONTENTS OF THIS BOX? IS THIS UNITED/ARMSTRONG"S IDEA OF SERVICE FOR A MOVE THAT COSTS US OVER $9000. we had a very last-minute move out of state. Armstrong was able to help us from start to finish. We were so impressed with the movers! They had a great attitude and worked very hard to make sure that nothing got hurt during the move. They were punctual and professional in every way. To follow-up on my review on October 28, 2024, a representative from The Armstrong Company called me on December 3, 2024. They found my records where they moved me in July of 2022. But she could not explain why my items (2 to 3 boxes) of items did not make my new home. She said after they packed my home up, they parked the semi moving van at a facility and it was locked. She said there is no way that those boxes were taken off the van. I told her I guess the items in those boxes just vanished into thin air. I know I packed the items, and I know I was not able to unpack them because those boxes did not make it to my new home. Be wary of using this company for your moving needs. read more

Amazing customer service. They hold your hand the whole way. I did not find one single damaged item upon unpacking. Not one chip, scratch or any breakage could be found. We moved from GA to IN recently. Our coordinator, Terri was awesome at keeping us informed. The packing crew arrived on time as scheduled and did a fabulous job packing our belongings. They had to hold our belongings into storage as we awaited the closing of our new home. The delivery took 2 extra days due to a breakdown of the truck enroute, which also created crew availability issues. The driver worked through the night to find one, however the crew showed up 2 hrs after the truck arrived. Once here they were quick to unload. I liked the inventory check off process they have. Just a couple items broken of little value and missing of all things - our ironing board. Overall, I expected some of this and may have given 5 stars had there not been any delays. Our driver "Ricky" delivering our belongings is a good asset to the company. He was pleasant to work with. read more

I count moving homes as one of the most stressful times in my life. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to call the "last move" the LAST move. Now let's say you face another move again remembering how crazy it was the last time and add a pandemic, cross country move which all has to be planned while you're working full time. That's where I was just a few months ago moving from Atlanta to Seattle. To try to take the stress out of it all, many of us fork over a ton of money to a moving company that we will hope will care for our stuff as much as we do. Unfortunately, it seems, that finding such a company with decent customer service is like trying to find Nessie in ole Loch Ness. My most recent move from Providence to Atlanta actually went very well. We had no missing furniture and only 1 damaged product which was promptly resolved. We never lost contact and the company was proactive about it. Unfortunately they were New England based and didn't have a subsidiary in the south. I asked them for a recommendation and they suggested Armstrong Relocation. I got in touch with Derek Duvoisin the relocation consultant who was assigned me. I have to say he was the only good individual out of this whole experience. Because it was social distancing time, we did the entire estimate by zoom. Simple. We walked from room to room and then he sent over the paperwork with the estimate. I contacted them about 2 months in advance and we picked a date and an estimated delivery. That all went smoothly. Packing folks came in a couple days before to pack and then move everything into the truck. Everything went smoothly from that standpoint and we waved goodbye expecting to then receive everything in about a week. When we prepared to unload in Seattle, we instantly realized something was off. We were called and they couldn't figure out which beds were ours as apparently they pack more than one family's furniture into a single car. I get it. It's about efficiency but with efficiency perhaps there should be a better labeling system. Perhaps by color? Matching number? I can't tell you distinguishing features about my mattress over the phone! I hardly ever see it without the sheets. When the movers finally arrived at the house, they unloaded box after box. Interestingly, we received a box of women's shoes (there are no women in the house and we do not choose to wear women's clothing), a table and a dresser that never belonged to us. All were labeled with numbers that didn't correspond to any other sticker we had. Yet somehow these were left in a back room in the home. Unfortunately we this added furniture, they had lost 3 boxes of some of our most precious memories. These are priceless trinkets from around the world. We also lost a box of meds and kitchen supplies but we were less concerned about that as things that can be replaced, will get replaced. I get it mistakes happen. But I think my message is then you should be proactive about finding our stuff. It took me 3 weeks from initially contacting the company that I had received another person's furniture. I wanted it to get back to the rightful owner as I am sure some component of their stuff was sentimental as was our missing items. I had to repeatedly call, take photos, send photos about 3 times to 3 different people before finally on a random day I was called that someone was coming by to pick them up. Whether these items got to their rightful owner, it will remain a mystery but they had labels so I sure hope they took 2 seconds to match things up. Unfortunately, they same could not be said about our boxes. While we were reimbursed the cost of the missing items, things that are of sentimental value could never be replaced. The entire experience of having to repeatedly hound the company to get someone else's furniture back to their owner made me pessimistic that A. other folks who had our boxes would ever have the same persistence to get boxes returned and B. that the company would take the time to track down the missing items. I would say that upfront, customer service seemed great. Things were tailored to the individual. People were polite and all furniture were packed and labeled as you would expect. The receiving end was a disaster and sadly after things are delivered, it felt as though their desire to help you resolve any inaccuracies dwindled down to nil. I know a lot of you may be stretched tight for cash at this time but are willing to pay to lessen the stress of a move. Plus who's to say the next moving company would be any better? There are a ton of mixed reviews here so read through everyone's experience to see ultimately if you would like to take the chance. These are my 2 cents. Supper disappointed in Armstrong. They didn't ever call me to fully assess my timing needs. Then they picked up my items and instead of getting my items moving waited another 5 days to group my items with another persons move. Which made them miss my desired delivery window which was over four days. If you have specific timing needs they only provide broad windows and will delay your priority in order to group your stuff with others. read more

First: The document titled Order for Service/Bill of lading is NOT an insurance policy. If you want insurance , you have to get it yourself, if available. Second: The claims company , UniGroup, IS THE PARENT company for Armstrong and United relocation companies. So you are asking the Parent Company to compensate you for THEIR relocation company damage. Our experience was a driver who ran over the common lawn area of our new community, a crew which we felt had poor loading skills and who put our furniture together wrongly causing damages. They lost approx 10% of my items and beat the living daylights out of the rest. If I hadn't watched them load it onto the truck myself I would assume that they moved all the boxes out of my apartment by throwing them out the third floor window. So far, nothing good to say. They called 3 days before our interstate move and changed the date on us. When I said I didn't want that date, they said that was the only one they had available, even though we had booked another date. I asked for compensation because we would need to go to a hotel--they refused. Later, I called to request our stuff be moved into our new home from storage and they said they could only do a week later. So now half our family will be living on air mattresses in the new house while the rest is staying with friends. I haven't seen one of my kids in days because she's at the other house. Broken, damaged and lost furniture ....thanks Armstrong, not. We hired Armstrong for a cross country move, and have been very disappointed by how our furniture was handled. There are missing boxes, items, and plenty of broken ones. My daughter was upset that during pick up the night lamp in her room was ripped off, in front of her eyes .... The only positive is the calm demeanor, and positive attitude, their representative had while communicating with us. While a consolation, that does not fix the need for a lot of back and forth discussing next steps. read more

Armstrong moved our household goods from Atlanta all the way to Las Cruces NM. The estimator did a great job sizing up our load and came very close to the correct weight. We had done much of the packing ourselves, except for all the furniture items which Armstrong packed in blankets or plastic wrap. Except for minor damage on a few items that was repairable, all goods arrived in excellent shape, and on time, even though there was a need for about 10 days of storage. The move coordinator, Terri Hardy, was very good about keeping us informed of the status of our shipment and eager to make adjustments for any issues we had. There is only one issue that keeps Armstrong from getting 5 stars -- the team member responsible for preparing an inventory list on move-out day, listed almost every one of our items as though in poor condition. So I recommend taking photographs of important items so you can prove condition on move day. In our case, all items are still in good condition after moving in to our NM apartment, so no problem there. All in all, very good! I would move with them again. read more

My husband and I have moved many, many times over our 19 years of marriage for our careers and I cannot tell you how extremely pleased we were with the service we received from Fred Lantz and his team of gentlemen. They came up to Long Island, NY, moved us to McLean, VA, etc... then again. They made the entire process from estimating to boxing, packing and moving and playing with and walking our dog to unpacking and moving us in absolutely SEAMLESS! I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! United was the best. A relocation manager came to our home in GA. Answer all our questions, set up our times and told us everything that they could and couldn't transport. The price was reasonable and times we set up they followed and believe me they were on time for pick up and drop off. Our furniture was in great shape we lost two cordial glasses(broken) that was outstanding work and very careful as well. The entire Armstrong team was on top of everything from start to finish. Ok. So, while waiting for my stuff, I was pretty upset with Armstong. Having gotten my stuff, today. I am on cloud nine. I'm missing just one part of one thing, and most of my belongings seem to be in good condition. Timing: Slow As a comparison, using AFB/U-Pack, I had my stuff from Austin TX to Philadelphia PA (1500 mi) within a week (cost me about a grand to do, packing and loading myself). Same with my boyfriend going from Austin TX to Portland OR (2000 mi). With Armstrong, it took 19 days to get my stuff from Boston (1000 mi). They say they have a driver shortage. Communication: Meh. Packing: OK (their partner, Humboldt, used crinkled paper for protection, and also didn't pack my computer monitor in the original packing that I had out) One part of my tv stand got lost because it was left loose. Accuracy of information: Verbal is misleading, I think. Delivering: Excellent (Thank you, Crystal and Wallace) Crystal and Wallace were very pleasant and helpful delivering my items. I certainly had some euphoria, knowing that my things were safe and arriving before Christmas (my communications with Armstrong were not the most reassuring).But here are the facts: They were careful, pleasant, communicative, and quick. Wallace even helped me search a bit for the part that got lost. Cost: ???? My employer is footing the bill. btw, I think my employer is paying about $2500 for this move (I think I saw that on the form I signed) and that includes full insurance. I've seen and heard the horror stories about moving companies and I can say from first hand experience that Armstrong defied all odds and treated our move as if it were their own. Pick up was on time and quick. Storage was without a hitch. Delivery was on time and quick. Every person we worked with and talked to was professional and friendly. And EVEN when we realized that an item (a small wine fridge) had gone missing in transport, we were written a check for it's replacement within 24 hours. Simply incredible. Not only that, but our move came in UNDER cost and there were no hidden fees or charges on the back end. No hostage situations with our furniture. I had a really good experience with Armstrong. Rob was very responsive and got me a quick estimate and explained everything very well and gave me good advice on how to get the best price and the quickest move. My load was smaller as it was only a 1 bedroom apartment, but they got me the best arrival window they could and stuck to that date. The movers arrived a little late, but it's Atlanta and I can't imagine driving one of those trucks through the city, and they'd also been scheduled to completely unload a truck at the warehouse before coming to our place. The guys were professional and quick and wrapped all of my furniture up well so there was no way it could get a scratch. Everything arrived in the same condition it left my apartment in! I had an excellent experience with Armstrong. Karen was great at communicating with me and helping to address my concerns as I have never before used a big moving company when relocating. The driver was very accommodating and we were able to work out some last minute changes to the schedule which worked out for me and the driver-- and allowed me to get my stuff delivered ahead of schedule! Only issue I had (that I discussed with the driver) was with the labeling of the boxes. Most were very generic and offered no real insight to what was in the box. Just makes unpacking less efficient but not really a problem. read more

I liked the way they did their estimate, and their total came in lower than other estimates we received. Armstrong Relocation did a great job in regard to working with my schedule, and being on time with pickups and deliveries. Could not give 5-stars because the one thing that broke was probably the most avoidable, my 6 foot dining table. Keep in mind the management team who handles the claims and scheduling are completely different people than the team moving and handling your items. Lakeshea Trueblood made it right and reimbursed me for the table within a reasonable timeframe. Just talk to the office team and they will make it right. This company is by far the WORST experience I have ever had with a mover. Being as I am ex military, I have moved a lot in the past, Armstrong couldn't have been worse. The day of the move wasn't terrible, aside from the guys that came not actually wrapping the couches correctly, which are damaged now. They also wrapped some paintings we had which didn't show up in the same wrapping or box they where place in, also ruined. When our shipment arrived, the driver who called to confirm delivery, didn't even show up with the shipment. He instead, sent his brother, who doesn't even work for Armstrong or United. So the person who signed for receipt of the goods, didn't even show up to deliver them. I'm not sure how you maintain the integrity of what your shipping at that point. We didn't give them a hard time about this however, then they started unloading our belongings. As they started unloading the truck, we noticed many items where completely destroyed. See the pictures of how they left one of the rooms below. We then called the driver who was supposed to deliver the goods, and he said "oh, I know you guys where going to be mad, I told terry in the office that on Friday". This is probably why Wallace didn't show up. Furthermore, they broke additional items down at the warehouse, and then they asked me if I had tools when they got there because they left theirs at the warehouse in Orlando... Everything we owned was on the back of the truck, how am I going to supply you with tools? Later on I told the guys I would go get a drill from Home Depot so they could put the things back together, however; they then informed me they had left the screws for everything in the tool bag in Orlando. They couldn't have put the stuff together if they wanted too. The following Monday, our claim was assigned to Lakeshea. She assured us everything would be taken care of, and my girlfriend should go through her, and everything would be fine. She then offered to pay for the desk they couldn't fix, if we took the time out of our day to go look for the desk and get the exact price, which we had to do because we both work from a lot of the time. The desk was taken care of after about a week and a half, which was good, and we felt like some progress had been made... We where wrong. We asked Armstrong to refund some of the money from the move, since they didn't do the job properly, they offered us 500.00. The move cost 4000.00 plus. We both work in transportation and offered to settle for the amount it would cost to get a semi truck to go from Atlanta to South Florida. They didn't don't want to hear it. I managed to get Stan Baker, the owners direct line, I have left 2 voicemails, and he hasn't returned my calls. I guess it just isn't that important. We moved to a new place for my girlfriends company, where neither of us know anybody or have any family, just to have this happen and have Armstrong downplay the significance of what happened to all of our belongings. THEY ALSO HAD TWO DIFFERENT ESTIMATORS COME OUT AND TAKE PICTURES, I GUESS THE FIRST COMPANY DIDN'T TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANTED TO HEAR. In total we filed a claim for 7700.00 in damages, United/Armstrong offered us 1200.00, plus the 500.00 for the move. We went with them over many other companies that where cheaper. If I had it to do over again, I would have picked the cheapest mover and took my chances. I would strongly advise against this company, even the guy who didn't work for them but showed up with our stuff said, "you should have used Atlas!" AGREED: AVOID THIS MOVING COMPANY!! My husband and I recently moved from DC to Atlanta and thought we might finally have a great moving experience with our move taken care of by relocation services--we could not have been more wrong. We had issues with every aspect of our move, including, but not limited to: -Moving truck was stuck for 2.5 hours behind our building and, when finally freed, drove away without a back up plan. No one from the company called me; I had to call them. -We were unable to move until 2 days later because it was a "holiday weekend" (the holiday was several days later). This meant losing a weekend with family and friends and my husband missing a day of work. -Our flat screen TV was never crated and arrived without its cord; our bed arrived without one leg and our mattress topper was discarded -Many of our items were loaded into a second shipment, which arrived a week late, was terribly packed, and many items were badly damaged -Despite repeatedly telling Armstrong that a certain-sized truck would not be able to access our property, they sent the truck anyway. They had to return with a different truck several hours later, again wasting our time. Though their representatives have made vague apologies, their response to these mistakes and damages has not been nearly adequate enough. I could not be more disappointed with this company. I very much liked Rob Kiely, the man in charge of our account. He tried to save me money, but I insisted on insurance that covered everything's replacement. I haven't collected yet on the damaged items. The driver was super hero who carried everything by himself. Therefore, there are lots of nicks and scratches on my furniture. Don't move in the summer. He sweated all over the upholstery. Also, the inside of the truck is like a furnace and the heat damages items. It is also dirty. He arrived on time to pack and on time to deliver. However, the last day of packing he kept saying he was through and my son and I were going through the house pointing out things to be packed. In the end, they moved stuff we did not want moved and I ended up with several big pieces of furniture with no place to put them. They failed to move other stuff we wanted moved. We did tell him he was rushing too much at the end. My mirror and portrait were to be packed in a special way. I was paying for that. They overlooked that and packed them in a common box. The guild on the mirror has been rubbed off. A lamp shade was torn up because other shades were packed inside of it. Loose silver coffee spoons were thrown away and later found loose in the bottom of a huge box. No one told me that they would pick boxes up if I arranged it. This was my first move in 40 years and I had a lot of valuable furnishings so I paid more attention to the process than most people probably do. Vivian G. read more

ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS COMPANY. I moved from Florida to Georgia and in the process I had more than $8000 in damages. There was no care taken in moving my items and the crew was disrespectful. During the packing and loading, the crew ate lunch in my old apartment and proceeded to leave a mess of their leftovers all over my kitchen. Garbage was found packed away with my belongings in their boxes. Still, months after my move I am fighting to have my items repaired or replaced. The entire team at Armstrong was professional, thorough and very knowledgeable during our whole moving process. They gave suggestions on how to make the move most efficient and cost effective and were all very friendly. This company did a great job on our recent move from Atlanta to Houston. Rob, who came out for the estimate was professional, knowledgeable and took his time. The price came in about 1/3 less than expected. The load out went very smoothly, on time and with no drama. Darrell, the crew chief/driver is terrific. He showed up on the other end when he said he would and the move in was quick and smooth. I have already recommended Armstrong to friends and will continue to do so. I would advise anyone not to use this company. My employer paid for my relocation and even recommended that I use Armstrong which cost $6800. My Television got damaged. I completed an insurance form they sent to me. Two weeks later because I had not heard from them, I followed up. I was advised that they are not responsible for it. I Emailed and called their corporate president believe his name is Van Bake. I let him know that I disagreed with the decision. He never called back and never emailed back. I brought that TV for $1200; now I have to replace it. Poor customer service. I am very surprise by that decision because I am a Senior Director of a company that use them for relocation all the time. Poor way to treat valuable customers. read more
