This place is so cool! Definitely unique. I stopped by on a late Sunday afternoon/early evening and it was bumpin'. A lot of the places on Somerset were already closed by 5pm, but this spot was open until 9 and had coffees, teas, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages and some snacks. It's an old house turned into a literal art house cafe, so there are different rooms and I believe an upper level that I didn't make it to. It's hard to know where to look because there's so much to look at! When you walk in, head to the right to place your order - there is also a bin at the table to put your dirty dishes into once you're done. I was a little overwhelmed by the drink menu, to be honest, so I told the server I liked bourbon and wanted something warm, and to just make whatever they wanted. He asked me if I wanted caffeine, I said yes but not too strong, the other person making it asked if I liked vanilla, I also said yes, and so they made me a London Fog with vanilla and bourbon. And it was perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Flavour was great, not too strong, well-balanced, well-made, and just pretty. The staff was also super friendly and quick. While the drink was tasty, I stayed longer for the ambiance. It was busy but there were tables, chairs, and couches for people to sit wherever they could find a spot. I was able to grab a comfy chair beside the piano, where someone was playing, and next to someone else who was writing a paper, while others around were just chatting, some deep in conversation about philosophical ideas and others about Instagram. Mixed bag of people, and it was great. The walls are also lined with artwork of all kinds for sale. I just sat there enjoying my beverage, listening to the live piano, admiring the artwork, and people-watching. Love the vibe here and would definitely come back here whenever I'm in the area!

A nice option in the Covid times, they are open late til 10 and they have a nice covered heated patio with lights on.. I got a hot chocolate which was rich and tasty but not that hot to be honest.. I like my drinks hot! I can't judge for the drinks since I didn't try their coffee and stuff and now with the to go cups all drinks look the same! There is also plenty of parking on the streets both sides!

Very friendly, accommodating during COVID How old is COVID getting???! Take out window for drinks/coffee/beer special Patio to the side; if heated would be great for longer days/deeper into winter. Somerset a nice stretch of Ottawa.

A lovely and delicate atmosphere with a very homey tea house feeling. Quiet, great for studying if you live in the area, or just for coming to talk with a friend. Got a huge pot of tea for only 4 or 5 dollars, everything seemed very reasonably priced and delicious.

Such a quaint little spot, the walls are completely filled with beautiful pieces by local artists. The coffee is delicious, the food is healthy and wholesome. Ain't nothing more welcoming than a cozy spot like this after a cold winter day.

There are 3 floors and are mostly Canadian based. There are a few expositions that I do not understand why they are there but at the same time I am not an artist. There is never a lineup but there is always a flow of people. I do know that there are events which I will have to inquire since I have read reviews about them and they sound awesome!.... On a side note, the washrooms are super clean. I also have never tried the cafe which is in the back. I will have to try it soon!

I love the bright, airy spaces full of colour, the daring, provocative collections. And it's all available to the public 6 days a week FREE. When it's open, I love to have a drink or a coffee in the Jackson cafe downstairs with people I love. I walked in today and discovered Don Kwan, a friend of mine, had a show show upstairs, and I was thrilled to feel this close artistic connection with my city. We wandered casually through the gallery and gift shop and met up with a mutual friend, also a friend of Don's. It was crazy to make a social connection in this place that I love so much. Floor after floor was new and totally different contemporary art, in different media and styles. I had brought my sketch book and a pencil with intentions to do some drawing inspired by my surroundings, but unfortunately, there was nowhere to sit and contemplate. There's even an installation on the second floor with chairs, but they are all connected and you can't sit on them! There's a new exhibit coming March 26, and another exhibit on BIPOC artists in May. I can't wait.

I love this gallery especially since they have jewelry from my favorite artist Anne-Marie Chagnon…read more Her jewelry is amazing since it gives you the power to change it. Maybe from a long necklace to a short one, or by reshaping a part. I went with a friend and she noticed pieces by a couple of her previous art teachers here and was excited. The highlight for me was definitely the jewelry. There were some really large striking pieces that would be totally unique to wear to an event. Of course they are a bit pricey, but it's art. The woman working in the store was really helpful and gave us a lot of additional information on the jewelry and how it could be changed, about the artists etc. She noticed my earrings and that they were by one of the artists also. This is one place I will visit soon when I have a special event to find accesories for!
