Service was fast, although I do feel that a smile would go a long way, I don't want to take away from the pastries so my rating of stars stay. Saw this bakery on social media and had to give it a try, and I'm glad we did. Located in downtown Phoenix, it was easy to get to and, being a Sunday, parking wasn't an issue at all. The bakery itself is very cute and inviting, but there's no indoor seating. Normally that wouldn't be a huge problem, but in May in Arizona the outdoor seating was just too hot for us to really sit and enjoy our pastries there. We ordered three pastries: the lemon cheesecake on a red velvet base, the lavender choux, and the coconut mango choux. The lemon cheesecake was absolutely wonderful -- light, airy, flavorful, and not overly heavy. Definitely a standout. The coconut mango choux was just as delicious and another item we would happily order again. Unfortunately, the lavender choux wasn't quite for us. Lavender can be tricky in desserts because it can sometimes lean too floral, and this one ended up tasting a bit soapy. The boxes for carry out are very nice and don't crush the pastries. Something small but def noticeable There are also drink options but we did not try any Even with that one miss, the other pastries were excellent and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area. read more

This was my first time trying The Art of Baking and i tried two pastries that definitely made the visit worth it. The Texas BBQ Brisket croissant was straight-up fire; flaky, buttery layers wrapped around that smoky, savory brisket. It's one of those bites that makes you pause for a second because it hits all the right notes. I also grabbed the Lemon Blueberry pastry, which was tasty in a totally different way. It's not overly sweet. The brightness of the lemon and the pop of blueberry came through without being drowned in sugar. Overall, a solid spot with pastries that feel thoughtful and well-balanced. Cute bake shop with fancy pastries and desserts. The inside decor is really appealing from the walls to the ceiling. The staff is friendly and helpful. I tried the Texas Brisket croissant and lemon blueberry croissant. I was so eager to try them I forgot to take pictures of them. I really enjoyed both of them. Finally made it!! The time on Google is incorrect they open at 8am. I met Evelyn, who was extremely sweet and cute. My baby girl is on a Matcha kick lately so of course she tried it from here. The shop has a small variety of different pastries to choose from. The gold flakes on the crème brûlée was appealing and we had to get that too! I tried to caramel macchiato because there isn't much of a selection and it wasn't a favorite. We were the only two in there so it was quick, super friendly service. read more

My ordered arrived quickly in an elegantly packaged and sturdy box with handles. I can see this working if ordering as a gift as well. This was delicious! It's a small spot downtown, but you'll find meter parking and some lot and garage parking within a 5 minute walk. It is right by Chase Field. There's one small table inside and some outdoor patio seating. The smell will hit you in the best way when you enter. This is an artisan bakery and cafe, with pastries made fresh daily. This means that they don't always have every selection on hand every day. But don't you worry! Whatever they have will be worth it! I got the spicy ham and cheese croissant and my friend got the raspberry cream cheese croissant. Both were so favorable and honestly beautiful. I got a yuzu hibiscus iced tea and my friend got the tiramisu iced coffee. We were in heaven. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I'll try to stop in next time I'm downtown! read more

I love a good coffee shop...especially one that feels warm and inviting with great decor and ambiance. This place definitely checks those boxes. It's super cute, and the coffee was absolutely delicious. That said, it's hard for me to give five stars because the customer service just didn't match the experience. There were two ladies working the morning of July 5, and neither one ever cracked a smile. We asked a few questions and even complimented the coffee, but it felt like we were bothering them. Maybe they were just having an off day...I totally get that happens. I probably would have tried some of the desserts too, but after feeling like my questions were an inconvenience, I decided against it. The shop itself is a small, charming bakery tucked near Chase Field. I tried both the lemon and mango desserts. The lemon was my favorite: bright flavor, a great balance of sweet and tart, and even without a crunchy exterior, it was still delicious. As for the mango, I've tried just about every viral mango dessert in Los Angeles, and TAoB's version really stands on its own. It comes on a long cookie base and is the only glossy-style mango dessert I've had. If you love mango, this one delivers--intense mango flavor with small chunks inside, no cake layer, just mousse and fruit, which I personally prefer. It's not crunchy, but that didn't take away from the experience. I had ordered other viral fruit desserts from local home bakers in Arizona, but I specifically waited for The Art of Baking to release their mango--and it was absolutely worth it. read more

Ambiance is gorgeous and their displays looked so good! I was sad I couldn't get what I wanted but I did come an hour before close so I knew selling out was a possibility.
