One star is too much for this store! On 10/26/21 I met my 5…read moreyear old granddaughter and family at Parkway Place Mall with plans to eat at the food court and go to Build a Bear to build a bear. While waiting on the birthday girl I went in the store to look around. No other customers were there, and when asked if I needed help I mentioned I was meeting my grandaughter to build a bear in a bit. This was at 5:40pm. No one mentioned that they close at 7 and stop making bears at 6:45. We ate at the food court. While eating, the birthday girls daddy walked over to the store and noticed it closes at 7pm. We all rushed over and arrived at 6:46. They told us that we were too late to make a bear. They stop taking orders at 6:45. We were 1 minute late! We were told they would not make an exception because if they made an exception for 1 person they would have to do it for everyone. I looked up and I saw tears rolling down my daughters eyes it broke my heart! So 5 year old birthday girl and her mom were both crying. We left so sad and disappointed What was supposed to be a fun celebration turned into a very sad evening. Creating a birthday bear was a huge thing to my grandaughter. She was so excited! These 2 employees made no effort to help us out and exhibited no empathy whatsoever. We were 1 minute late! That rule was not posted anywhere! Build A Bear was a total disappointment and I will spread the word to all who care to listen! #Buildabear #buildabearsucks #poorcustomerservice #willnevergoback I did call the customer satisfaction number and stayed on hold for several hours. Never was connected to anyone. Eventually hung up.

I can't wait to go back for another class! My sister, mom and I went to the Gnome Halloween making class, where she showed us how to make a Gnome and then we could make it our own. I chose to make a Gnome that was just plain, nothing really Halloween based, but I figure I could keep it out for decoration all year around. After forming the Gnome we leave it for 2 weeks and she places it in the kiln and you come back and paint it, once painted you wait another 2 weeks while she bakes it again and then come back for the final pickup. I think our Gnomes all came out amazing! I believe we all used the stoneware paint finish which was so beautiful. She has clay wheel classes, paint your own (where you can choose already made pottery and make it yours by painting it) and so many other options. It was so much fun and I cannot wait to go back!

They have a great selection of pottery you can paint. They also have great classes to check out. We are partial to the gnome classes. The team here is super helpful and very knowledgeable of how to create that perfect glaze. I definitely suggest checking g this gem out!
