a plate of food with lettuce and cheese

I saw the familiar CiCi's logo across the street from the hotel that I was staying at and found myself awash in memories of when my kids were younger and always wanted CiCi's for their pizza and the video games. So it was not too hard of s decision on where I would be having dinner on this particular evening. Let's get this out right away, CiCi's will never win any awards for their pizza. It is a typical conveyor belt through an oven type pizza. However, you can't beat the price. All you can eat pizza, pasta, and salad for six dollars and change. This is s big allure there and, if kids are involved, the games will bring smiles to their faces and will hopefully be stored as a fond childhood memory. I will say that my daughter is still a fan of CiCi's at twenty three. My go to has always been the pizza ole, kind of a taco pizza and they made one up for me. Not necessarily good pizza, but it filled my stomach and maybe rekindled a few memories of a time of early parenthood. In fact, I seen a couple walking out with their child and I wanted to tell them to cherish this time for sooner than they think it will be gone. I didn't, for that is a lesson they themselves must see and besides, while zi miss the children my kids were, I am so proud of who they are becoming.

This is how you eat all you can eat pizza - don't eat the bones!! hahah

Started with fried chicken, Mac and cheese, fries, green beans and a grilled pork chop. The fries just came out when I was there but they were cold and soggy. Fried chicken was ok, Mac and cheese was missing a cheese with flavor. Beans and pork chop were edible but not as tasty as they should have been. Went back to try the catfish, wish I hadn't. Was cold, slightly undercooked and had no flavor at all. Thanks for tartar sauce for flavor. Had the carrot cake which turned out to be the best part of the meal. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly but the food was underwhelming.

Me and two coworkers went here for lunch to mix it up and try something new. When we walked in, the hostess rang us up as a party even though the first guy said he just wanted to pay for himself; whatever, we sorted it out among ourselves later. There is a buffet that serves southern food. Fried chicken, fried catfish, baked chicken, spaghetti, liver, dressing, mashed potatoes etc. Also offer a salad bar. The food was criminally underseasoned. Everything needed salt - I'm not sure if they keep it saltless to cater to the older people who make up the majority of their customers or what. Tried a lot of stuff looking for good food and I didn't find much. Fried chicken had too much breading, the breading tasted unseasoned. Dressing was very dry and had a consistency of cornmeal, you touched dit and it broke apart. Mashed potatoes were definitely instant mashed potatoes and not a good brand. Spaghetti sauce had a little meat in it, but tasted like stewed tomatoes. Cornbread was dry and unsweetened. Roll was OK. Green beans casserole was good. Coworker said liver and boiled cabbage was good, said catfish was bad and "none of it was great". Salad bar looked fresh. Another coworker had asked us to bring her back some dessert: when I sent her a picture of the desert bar, she changed her mind. They serve Pepsi products and offer sweet tea. Waitress was nice and we had pretty decent service. Buffet area was kept clean and stocked at all times. Would not return.

We were promptly seated and had our drink orders taken (they serve Coke products and alcohol; no Coke Zero sadly). The menu was pretty large but they don't offer a lunch portion on weekends which was unfortunate but fine. The adult meals came with 2 sides and miso soup, kids meals featured one side and miso soup. I ordered Beef Bulgogi with cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi, wife ordered Pork Belly with bean sprouts and fish cakes, kids ordered Beef Bulgogi Fried Rice and Chicken Frid Rice both with Japchae noodles. The miso soup was a little disappointing - the soup cup was filled a third of the way up and only had a few slivers of green onion; no tofu or seaweed or anything else. It was the smallest, saddest miso soup I have tried. Sides were brought out before the test of the meal -- save them for when the food comes out, you will need them to cleanse your palate and break up the meat overload. Sides were pretty good. The main course was served and the food looked beautiful! Unfortunately the food was very bland. The pork belly lacked salt (don't ask me how this is possible) though the onions they came with were nice. The beef Bulgogi was pretty bad, had flavor but seemed dry and it was just a pile of meat that got old quickly. Not a lot of complex flavors. My youngest kid's chicken fried rice was bad -- the chicken was extremely dry and lacked flavoring. She loved it; but she also doesnt want to use ketchup or any sort of flavoring on her meat usually so that tells you the flavor profile here. The waitresses we had we both very nice, but they weren't attentive. My glass of water was low and I got no refill - no one at my table was ever asked if they wanted something else to drink. One of my daughters used the rest room and complained that the floor of the women's restroom had a lot of water on it. She siad when she say down on the toilet water squirted out from around thr seal and when she stood up it sucked back in. She specifically asked me to mention it and and she's 11 years old and never complains about bathrooms so that was weird. Food cost $72 after taxes for 2 adult meals, 2 kid meals, 3 drinks and no apps or booze. Not worth it. If you think the food looks good, its post production. I really hate to rank this place so low but the wife and a I both agreed that it's a solid 2 stars and that we wouldn't return here. I enjoyed most of the other korean restaurants around town and have traveled quite a bit internationally and across the US for context; this place was not good. If you do want to try it out, I'd advise eating it family style where everyone shares several dishes. Sorry!

Growing up near this location which had been in the parking…read morelot of Madison Square Mall for ages prior to its demolition, we lovingly referred to Hopper's as "menopause manor," due to the average age of the patrons. Growing up, my family would dine at their seasonal buffets, such as Easter, and we always enjoyed ourselves. This hotel was pretty much the only hotel [except for the Sheraton at the airport] in town, back in those days. As single, late teenagers, we would go here in small groups because businessman TDY would stay here on per diem, and we nearly always drank free. One of our favorite local bands in the 90s was Kozmic Mama [featuring two Butler High School classmates, John Broussard and Carla Russell] and we saw them at Hopper's every chance we could. In the later 2000s, groups like Peter and the Wolf became more prevalent at Hopper's. Peter and the Wolf always wrapped up their gig oddly, by encircling the bar, getting strangely close to those seated at the bar. I never understood their need to interact this way, when there was a perfectly good stage right there in the bar. The drummer didn't dislodge his drum kit, maybe he played a tambourine. This is a bar to get standard cocktails, highballs, and beers. I've only eaten the bar food here in the bar proper - things like French fries and nachos, and the food was always edible and the service polite. Even today, Hopper's offers live music with, I think, at least 3 bands lined up for this week. Thanks for great memories and live music, Hoppers!
