That was one of the main reasons I agreed to move forward. Almost immediately, that promise was broken. My schedule was constantly changed with little to no notice, making it extremely difficult to plan my time or take this opportunity seriously. On top of that, the management was disorganized and unprofessional when it came to communication. Instead of addressing concerns or trying to fix the situation, things only got worse. After I decided to part ways due to these issues, I was then banned, which felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I am still waiting to be paid for my training time over two months later. I was promised compensation, and that promise has not been honored. At the end of the day, this isn't even about a large amount of money -- it's about basic respect and professionalism. If you work, you should be paid. Simple. Overall, this experience showed a lack of organization, accountability, and integrity. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a reliable or professional environment.

I know the difference between 'good', 'average' and 'bad' when it comes to PT's. I'm a Male in my early 60's who is focused on Power Lifting training and wants someone to have an eagle eye in form/technique to mitigate risk of injury and to optimize my time in the gym. In my eyes, 'good' starts with a PT who is prepared (the plan is set before I arrive for the session, not 'made up on the fly'), a PT who engaged throughout the session, monitoring technique/ensuring good form to mitigate injury risk and who is personable/fun to work with while not being afraid to push me to heights/challenges I likely wouldn't take on by myself. Andrew Cao, the Director of the St Pete location, is a very good leader and sets the tone for the high levels of professionalism that each of the trainers exhibit as I watch them work with their clients. My trainer, Joe Cameron, has been exceptional to work with & is beyond 'good' as outlined above. - The gym is never 'packed' (5 clients at one time is max I've seen during my 3 months and it's busy w/out being claustrophobic). - You are greeted warmly, by name, by all upon arrival, - the facility has all the major equipment you need - the 'Trainerize' app they use is the best I've encountered in my fitness journey and is comprehensive re: exercise (w/videos available for every movement), food, water & steps tracking all-in-one. - the place is as clean as a whistle with towels provided along with home brewed Nitro Coffee. Love seeing people!! For me, the busier the better. It means they will be around for the future. Best part is going through the 30 minute machine line and then focus on a particular muscle group. I lost 40 lbs over a 4 year period and got back into my 40 year old shape by going to Crunch. I did use a personal trainer for 10 sessions at the beginning of my journey. I told him I wanted to get "Cruise Hardened". It worked. No injuries on cruises for the last 5 years. And my fellow cruisers on Celebrity think I am in my 60's. On Carnival they think I'm 55. But they are mostly drunk.

Personal training is available if you want to go that route. Daily, weekly, monthly plans are available and there are no initiation or other BS fees. If you're looking for a place to workout without the drama, this is the place for you. I like to support women who are business people when I can. There's plenty of parking in the front and the back and at night they have a cleaner who comes and refreshes the bathroom and mops the floor. Even still, the gym is pretty filthy though if you look at different areas, you can see where dust has collected, dirt, and sweat. I really wish they had more regular cleaning and actual wipes instead of paper towel towels with a cleaning solution on it to wipe the machines when finished. The space is small so they have to do what they can with the space but the equipment is placed relatively close. I also wish it were permitted for members to use the personal training area when sessions are not ongoing because that equipment appears to largely be unused. Planet Fitness unlike other gyms also does not have a sauna, but they do have tanning and Hydro massage chairs. The goodie bags that they sell are extremely outdated so I would like to see them improve that as well, but I will not be purchasing it regardless. Now that I have stopped personal training at my other gym, I may end up canceling both planet fitness and the other gym and just joining a gym with all of my favorite amenities plus being open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For all these reasons, I would rank this planet fitness three out of five stars. The thing that would bring planet fitness to a higher ranking cleanliness, other offers or amenities and maybe a reorganization of the equipment.
