Update- MIL lost 25 lbs in 1 month in memory care. 2 trips to the ER for extreme dehydration. No shower/bathing in a week. They acted like they didn't know what do or how to handle a dementia patient. They failed to be able to redirect her. Within an hour or two at her new place we were able to leave with peace of mind AND she had a shower, ate her entire lunch drank cranberry juice and had muffins for a snack. On top of it we have a group text set up and are receiving pictures and videos throughout the day. She's smiling again!

Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but The Villas stands above them all thanks to Grayson Tynes, Executive Director, and Nikki Zukic, the Director of Memory Care. Both have set the gold standard for providing personal care to their residents and for creating an active and supportive community. My role as a private caregiver--hired by the families of residents--means I have an objective and unbiased assessment of every facility I work in. I am an advocate and mandated reporter first and foremost, so I have a duty to observe everything. This means watching how the staff interacts with residents, how the facility itself is maintained, etc. My experience at The Villas over the past six years, during which I have had clients there, has been very positive. Each of the aforementioned directors has taken the time to listen to my feedback and observations, which, in turn, has allowed us to exchange ideas and suggestions. Their professionalism, integrity, and genuine commitment to their residents are unmatched. Staffing is and will always be an issue at every facility; I have seen the worst to the very best at all of them. It is an unavoidable element due to the nature of the industry. So I will not pretend that any one place is perfect. However, The Villas has seemingly been the most proactive in both hiring and letting staff go (to put it nicely). This approach has ensured a consistent, effective level of care for residents. Every day I see the staff, from caregivers to servers and even those in maintenance, go above and beyond to help and provide hospitality to the residents. They've cultivated a safe, welcoming environment for everyone to thrive and maintain their autonomy. The directors also make themselves available, being on the floor and present, which is uncommon in many facilities. It is a challenging task finding a new place to call home, whether for yourself or a loved one, but I would highly recommend visiting the Villas. I believe they offer all the amenities necessary to have a quality of life that each of us deserves.

There are several staff members that always stood out to me for the care my father provided. Jocelyn, Michelle, Jamie, AD and private care staff members Scott. They always had his best interests at heart, and I truly appreciate every one of them. My Father was very happy there and loved all his new friends. I am certain that every one of them played a role in his success there. Even though he suffered with Dementia, he knew and appreciated them and all they did for him, that was very clear to me. Overall, my experience with The Villas was outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a comfortable, safe place for their loved one. She definitely was not making any progress there then I learned about citrus Pines. Janelyn the owner is such a sweet person who genuinely cares about all her residence. Once I explained our situation to her She made time to come and visit my grandmother at the other home and shortly thereafter we got her transferred. Since moving to citrus Pines, she socializes with the other residence she can get herself to and from the restroom by herself and we are happy to say she is transitioning back home next month and we couldn't be more happy if you're looking for somewhere to send a loved one this home care facility should be at the top of your list. Jake and Eric have so much patience and really listen to the needs of all the residents. Nancy and Ludy are also there to help whenever needed. I can't say enough good things. Placing my father in a board and care facility was not an easy decision, but one we had to make. After my initial meeting with Janelyn, I honestly felt completely at peace knowing my father would be taken care of. Post care for my father, my opinion of Janelyn has not waved and she is truly amazing. Her care and compassion, along with her diligent attention to the safety for her residents, is second to none. Janelyn's sons were equally impressive. They all made my father feel safe, special, loved and welcomed. What else can you ask for?! Not only did my father feel this, my wife and I did as well. There is something truly special about this place. Everyone, and I mean everyone, that I came into contact working for facility was a blessing. This included third party transportation service providers, medical specialists that checked in from time to time, and even hospice workers assigned to provide additional care towards the end of my father's life. With respect to the facility itself, it is safe, clean, pleasant, peaceful, and welcoming. My father's room was a perfect match for his personality. The staff made sure to make it welcoming and decorated it to fit his needs. Best of all, my father, who loved to be surrounded by nature, had a view of the serene backyard, where he could see and listen to the water fountain, watch hummingbirds feed outside his door and squirrels feed and play. Janelyn and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my father's remaining days were nothing but peaceful and comfortable. The circumstances that lead us to partner with Citrus Pines Senior Living were difficult, but it was a pleasure getting to know Janelyn and all of the staff within this amazing facility.
