Love that they have the lunch special (appetizer + entree) available on the weekends! I got the Kra Pow at a medium level spice but it still got a kick that was addicting - the fried egg addition was a great compliment too. The Zaab Wings were addicting too with the hot but also sour/citrus seasoning - just drooling thinking about it again!
Service was wonderful really really quick for how busy they were! Store was nicely decorated, I just wish I could see the second floor LOL. We got pineapple roasted duck which had a nice sweet and savory sauce. The duck itself was tender and had crispy skin but I didn't think it had much flavor. Next we got the crispy pork belly much had delicious water spinach but the pork was very hard and not yummy. The water spinach was my favorite part of this entire meal. We got a pad Thai baron and it was good but I didn't like the texture of the egg. We also got a Thai iced tea. I think it was on the higher price end too.
My favorite Thai spot in Queens! It's so beautiful inside. We ordered Thai tea and sometimes it's a miss but this spot never misses. It was perfectly sweetened and creamy. For our dishes we got the vegetable thai fried rice and the panyang curry with vegetables. I usually always go for a meat dish but because my friend was vegetarian I wanted to get something we can both share. Service was quick! Lots of people were eating when we went. Def recommend reserving for a nicer outing. Totally understand why this spit is top 10!
When in Bangkok is absolutely worth the hype. The cocktails are excellent and thoughtfully crafted, and the food is so good. We ordered the Drunken Noodle, Khao Soi, and the Braised Pork Leg--every dish was packed with flavor, comforting, and beautifully executed. The Khao Soi in particular was rich and aromatic, and the pork leg was tender and very satisfying. The ambiance is cozy with really cute decor, and the overall vibe feels warm and welcoming, even when the place is buzzing. It does get very packed, but it's 100% worth the wait. Portion sizes are generous and prices are reasonable. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better despite how busy it was. Easily one of my favorite Thai spots--I already can't wait to go back.
My friend and I wanted to sit outside because they have a patio, but they didn't set it up. They said they expect to open it next month. We ordered Mango Branzino Rolls, chicken pad kee mao, and Pineapple Curry Duck. They have lunch special daily from 11-4pm but we wanted try other dishes on their menu. No regrets. It is a bit expensive, but they give you big portions. We enjoyed all the dishes very much. The pineapple curry duck comes with one bowl of jasmine rice. The service is great and they refill our water pitchers. We left there satisfied and very full.
I was drawn to this place because they're owned by the same owners of Malii (was a fan of their first branch in UES 2nd Ave then they added Gramercy). I've tried both takeout and dine out by now. The dine in experience last week was far better than the takeout experience a couple of weeks back. Food tasted better and tasted consistent to the same food I've tried at Malii. For dine in last week, we tried their Mango based rum drink each and luckily made it to their Happy Hour time so was charged $8 less, a good deal. We got their Zaab Zaab wings which were good and ordered the Crab Fried Rice and Panang Curry in Beef. Crab Fried rice was pretty yum with actual chunks of crab meat while the Panang Curry tasted just okay. Hope they can work on that. I also ordered Thai iced tea which was very watery and somehow tasted like medicine, they didn't charge me for it and I appreciated the gesture. Looking forward to try them again and hoping their taste profile can be as good and consistent as Malii. Service was warm and friendly, thanks for that! :)
Food was so good! Som Tum salad was super flavorful and fresh. There were diverse flavors from the crunchy green papaya, crispy pork skin, green beans, peanuts, and tomatoes. Both Kao Soi and Tom Yum Noodle Soup were explosions of flavor - heart warming and satisfying. Kao Soi is a sweeter, heavier curry whereas the Tom Yum Noodle Soup was more sour and craving satisfying. Service was good and ambiance is cute! Would go again.

The food came out fairly quick. The decor was very nice and modern. We are outside and it felt comfortable. For the price I think the food could've been much better.

We walked in for a Sunday night dinner. The space is modern and the food presentation was pretty. There's a restaurant week menu for $45, which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. They were out of the panna cotta. The food was fine, not amazing. The shrimp ceviche was slightly fishy. The tamarind crab curry only came with half a crab, but the soft shell crab karee came with plenty of crab. The soft shell crab got a bit soggy in the curry. I think having it served on the side would've been better. The churro in the dessert wasn't good but the ice cream was tasty.

When in Bangkok was a spot I found online while visiting, and it looked so good that I had to give it a try. They are dog-friendly and offer outdoor seating, which was a huge plus. The waitstaff was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. We started with the oysters, and the condiments served with them were different from the usual ones you typically get. They were absolutely amazing and added a unique touch. For the main dishes, we ordered the chicken pineapple fried rice and the fried pork belly appetizer. Everything was solid, especially the cocktails, which were refreshing and well-made. We ended the meal with the roti dessert, which was definitely unique and a great way to finish the meal. You do have to go inside to use the restroom, which gives you a chance to appreciate the beautiful modern decor. Overall, When in Bangkok is easily one of my favorite Thai restaurants of all time, and I would definitely come back. read more
First visit after many friends suggested and it lived up to all the hype. We were warmly greeted by the host for lunch, from there it was all superb. The entire drink list, food, service and cleanliness of this restaurant must be commended. In short, absolutely worth the trip. No doubt we will be back for dinner service soon. read more
The best Thai restaurant in the Flushing/Bayside area. The soft shell crab karee has a crispy outside and a soft inside. The crab fried rice had lots of crab. All the dishes were flavorful and well balanced. Highly recommend the soft shell crab karee. The service was good. read more

Well I love Thai food and when in Bangkok didn't disappoint. Tasty and delicious food. Serving can feed 2 people. It was a lot. Our waiter was very friendly and bubbly. The place was a cute little restaurant. Definitely worth a second visit. read more

Weekday Happy Hour | Mon-Fri 11:30 AM-5:00 PM $2 Oysters Crispy Wontons: The fried wonton wrappers stuffed with fish balls were crispy and delicious. My niece loved them and kept the whole plate to herself. Tamarind Wings: The spicy tamarind sauce kicked my palate and made the chicken wings flavorful. Chive Rice Cake Daily Lunch Specials | 11:30 AM-4:00 PM Choose a starter, an entrée, and a protein. Spring Rolls + Red Curry + Jasmine Rice + Chicken Spring Rolls + Thai Fried Rice + Chicken Thai Salad with Peanut Dressing + Thai Fried Rice + Chicken I couldn't stop eating the Chicken Thai Fried Rice because it tasted scrumptious. When In Bangkok is going on my all star list of "go to" spots for any occasion. It has a fine dining aesthetic with a casual vibe that makes you forget you're in residential northern Queens. Can we take a minute here to sing the praises of their steamed sea bass? It comes to table on a burner tray to keep it steaming and seeped in a broth flavored by ginger, lime, lemongrass and assorted herbs. Digging out the pieces of cabbage underneath was like the gift that kept giving. This is a must try! I think our server was shocked at how we picked it clean, but not a bit went to waste. The Mango branzino rolls are a fun and light pop of flavor to get the digestive juices flowing, but if you're looking for a good appetizer to pair with a beer or Japanese whiskey, the Tamarind Wings are it! Just ask for extra napkins because you will be a mess. The mango sticky rice is a nice dessert for the little bit of room you might have left. It's on the tangier side of sweet with a nice nutty finish from the toasted coconut flakes on top. Perfect for sharing which we happily did. read more

When In Bangkok is my favorite casual Thai spot! I've been here several times on girl dates and it is perfect each time! First off, most if not all drinks here are AMAZING! Their Thai Iced Tea is THE BEST and currently all time favorite. The first time I had it at the restaurant, I immediately ordered another one to go! It is a must-order! When on girl dates, I have tried a few cocktails - White and Red Sangria, Passionfruit Mojito, and mocktails - Passionfruit Mojito (mocktail version), Lychee Fizz - they are all very pretty aesthetically, sweet, and delicious! The oysters are the next best thing - they have a Happy Hour Special for $2/oyster on weekdays (excluding holidays) from opening 11:30 am through 5:00 pm or if outside Happy Hour, it is 6 oysters for $20. The oysters are sooo fresh and my favorite has to be their homemade seafood sauce - that sauce is delicious and works perfectly with the oysters with the crispy shallots and a squeeze of lemon juice. I usually skip the chili jam. If I have extra seafood sauce left, I save the sauce to put it over my entree. :) Another favorite appetizer of mine is the Crispy Pork Belly! It is perfectly fried and not greasy and the sriracha sauce just works with it. I usually come here for lunch special combo. I get the Spring Rolls and Pad See Ew. Both are really good choices here. The flavors are more on the sweet side but I really enjoyed it! My go-to Thai restaurant in Queens. The wait usually isn't very long, and with two floors, it's a great spot for larger groups. I still remember them seating a group of 14 of us after pickleball with no issues at all :) The portion sizes are generous and everything looks very aesthetically pleasing. I first came during Restaurant Week and got to try a variety of dishes and an affordable price. The Pad Thai Boran quickly became my favorite. The duck is also very crispy and pairs so well with the citrusy pineapple curry sauce Their cocktails are also worth ordering. I really enjoyed "Meet Me at Siam," a fruity strawberry cocktail that's refreshing and paired well with the things we ordered :3 read more
Another bday celebration at one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Muarry Hill Queens. Small and cozy [they also have outdoor seating for warmer weather] Got there a little after 7pm on a Sunday. Luckily it was busy yet, we were able to get seated within 5 mins for a party of 4. What we ordered: - Chive rice cake [taste just like a deep fried turnip cake] - Cho Muang [butterfly pea dumplings with ground peanuts, shallots served with sweet turnip with garlic chips, cilantro, lettuce, and fresh chili] - Tom Kha [Chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onions, Cilantro, dried pepper, in coconut galangal broth] - Rose Lemonade [Lemonade, rose syrup, butterfly pea tea] - Lychee Fizz [Lychee syrup, lemon, grenadine, tonic water] - Ocean Breeze [pineapple juice, Lemonade lime soda, edible glitter ] - Thai ice tea - Pork Pad Thai - Basil Crispy pork belly. Sauteed with red pepper, long beans in spicy basil - Braised Pork Leg. braised pork leg with sweet five spice, soy sauce. Served with mushrooms, Chinese broccoli, boiled egg and garlic - Thai Press coffee with brown sugar on a stick - coconut Pandan ice cream - Thai ice tea ice cream - mango cake with coconut ice cream So far food leftovers. Over the weekend we were craving Thai food so we decided to go When in Bangkok, a cozy Thai restaurant tucked away in Flushing Queens. We been here on a few different occasions and it never disappointed. The service is always quick, friendly staff & your food is served with a smile. During this visit we had the Thai bo ran, curry puffs, zabb wings & steamed sea bass. The curry puffs are light, flaky and full of flavor. The zabb wings remind me of a lemon pepper wing with a Thai twist, crispy & tangy. The steamed sea bass was served on metal like tray over an open flame, the sea bass is literally sizzling in your plate, good presentation, tender, & flavorful. If you're ever in the neighborhood check them out, you won't be disappointed. Good food, good service, at an affordable price. Can't beat that! lol read more
Top tier ambiance! There's a good amount of tables inside but it's not the largest space so I'd recommend either coming with a smaller party or making a reservation if you want to come with a larger group. They also have an upstairs space for private events. I made a reservation for a group of 7 and they wouldn't seat me until everyone arrived so I stepped out to wait for the rest of the party. However, when I came back in, they seated 2 of my friends who arrived during the time I stepped out. Not sure on their policy with that but would appreciate if they could be consistent. As for the food, everything was well plated - presentation looked great. The food itself was good but nothing was spicy despite some of them saying they were spicy. I personally love a good Thai spice so I was hoping for a little more kick in some of these dishes but they just weren't spicy at all. Even my friend who has a really low spice tolerance said it wasn't spicy. We ordered several items to share and they were all flavorful in its own way - from the appetizers to the entrees and the unique desserts. All of the crispy items (zabb wings, chive rice cakes, crispy crab rolls) were definitely crispy and had a lovely crunch on the outside while still keeping the inside juicy and well cooked. There's a pretty large variety of items to choose from on the menu but definitely get their seafood! The fish - both steamed and fried - were meaty. The crab fried rice had a good amount of crabmeat on top. We ended the meal with the mango sticky rice and the churros with pandan sauce and I loved them both. Another mediocre spot made popular by their insta-worthy decor and menu. If you prefer ambience over taste, this is a spot for you. The restaurant is chic and modern, staff is friendly. I can always tell if a Thai spot is gonna be good based on their Thai iced tea and my theory did not disappoint. Everything from the Thai iced tea, to the green curry, to the soup was just ok. And the prices are ridiculous, $24 for Tom yum soup! I asked for no eggplant and extra red peppers in my green curry. They told me no substitutions and forgot to include the peppers which are listed on the menu. The chicken consistency was rubbery and had a weird color. Flavor was good. Absolutely Incredible Tom Yum! I usually order delivery from When in Bangkok through Uber Eats, but this was my first time actually dining in--and WOW, I'm honestly mad at myself for not coming in sooner. I ordered the Som Tom and the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with ramen noodles. The Som Tom was fresh, bright, and full of that perfect papaya salad crunch, but the Tom Yum... let me tell you... Legitimately the most delicious soup I have had in my entire life. The broth was perfection--the heat was just right, the lime gave it that beautiful acidity, and it was savory, rich, and totally bursting with flavor in every sip. I genuinely couldn't stop eating it. It was so good I felt compelled to write this review right away. If you love Thai food, do yourself a favor and try the Tom Yum here. Delivery is great, but eating it fresh at the restaurant is on a whole different level. Can't wait to come back! read more
This was my first time dining here and I was really impressed! Everything was so good and delicious, even the drinks. Prices are very fair too. I highly recommend trying the Braised Pork Leg it was outstanding the meal fell right off the bones! The steamed sea bass could have used a bit more flavor, but it was still enjoyable. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is the Tom Yum Mussels, as it didn't really capture the classic Tom Yum taste. The space itself is spacious with outdoor dining available, and the staff were super attentive and quick. Overall, a great spot and I'll definitely be back! read more

Honestly, consistently some of the best food in the area. The crab fried rice is a must try. The fish/garlic sauce they have with it is so flavorful, it's astounding. They also have a cocktail called Meet Me At Siam, that they seem to have discontinued which is unfortunate. Great strawberry smoothie cocktail! Could try asking for it, they probably would have the ingredients. Ambiance is always great. read more
We flew into NY for the day just to eat. I did my research before hand and I really wanted to try the Thai tea roti. The restaurant was small but cute, service was great. We started off with some cocktails and our favorite was the spicy babydoll, we had a few of those. We were pretty full from eating through the day, now we wish we would've ordered more food. We got the oysters and it was so good, so was their seafood sauce and toppings that went on it. We were really impressed by the Thai tea roti and they make their ice cream in house. I gotta say this place was a let down for my friend and I. They found a hair in their pad Thai and our silverware/glass cup were dirty before even using them. On the bright side: The spring rolls and the zabb wings were yummy, just the right kick of lime on the wings. The service was good but I felt rushed to pay the bill and leave. read more

Finally had a chance to try WIB after hearing many great things, and it lived up to the hype! My fiance & I stopped by on a Friday evening without a resy, and thankfully we were seated quickly. Highly recommend making one though - they were so busy! Between the two of us, we decided on the papaya salad, pad see ew, and the tom yum noodle soup. We were told that the medium spice level would be like Thai spicy - it wasn't. It was spicy, sure, but I think most people can handle this level. I personally liked his pad see ew more than my noodle soup. Maybe I chose the wrong noodle type (thin rice noodles), but they were pretty mushy and broken up within the soup. It was hard to get a good solid piece of noodle. The broth itself was tasty, but near impossible to eat with the noodle mush. I'd probably try the drunken noodles next time - the wide noodles are huge! Service is really attentive & friendly. Ambiance here is really cute - perfect for casual but nice date night. My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in NYC. Out of all their dishes, my favorite are: chives rice cake, steamed seabass, pad thai and kua gai. The chives rice cake are perfectly seasoned and so goey in the inside. The steamed bass, is spicy and sour and just so refreshing.. I can eat it all day! The pad thai has a nice texture and the flavor isn't overpowering and the kua gai, always comes out pipping hot and has so many ingredients and is super satisfying. I really can't say enough about this place. Although I do have my favorite dishes, every dish I've had so far has been delicious. The waitresses are really nice and are explain everything so well, the restaurant is clean, brightly lit and the food never fails to be absolutely delicious. Their tom yum is also very good, a bit spicy for my preference, but perfect for the cold weather. Seriously, you HAVE to come here. read more
