Amazing sandwiches and local selections of veggies, drinks, and snacks. We were in the area for hiking and was looking for a late lunch in the little downtown area. Stumbling into this establishment, we didn't realize they had already closed, but the guy behind the counter was nice enough to make us a sandwich anyway. Pastrami Kraut Melt 5/5* If sandwiches had dreams, they would be an Auburn Bodega sandwich. They all are both vsually appealing and spectacular in taste. We went with one of their popular sandwiches to try. The pastrami was PACKED in there! The crisp veggies and tart kraut perfectly balanced out the saltiness of pastrami. The green herb sauce, though, is this sandwich's wet dream. It added creaminess, a refreshing palette, and a bit of citrus flavor to amp up this sando tenfold! Warren & Co. Herb Crackers 5/5* Locally made! I checked the labels just to make sure they were local before purchasing. These were unexpectedly so crisp and savory. The lightness of the crackers tasted like you'd get them fresh out of the oven. They were perfectly dusted with flaky salt, rosemary and other aromatic herbs. I got these for charcuterie, but they were so good stand alone that I had them as a straight snack. They had a hefty display case of drinks out back and a small freezer with local goodies like a pot pie. We grabbed some kombucha to wash everything down. I noticed some desserts by the cashier also, and locally made bodycare items, but didn't want to browse any longer and keep them beyond their closing hours. This place is such a local gem. Side note - they prefer being small and local, and asked us not to post their menu on Yelp, since it rotates and people have come to get old sandos that weren't on the menu anymore. I respected their wishes but they were too good not to write about!

I have only had the pastrami kraut here. I shared it w my bud. I got full. The pastrami was crispy on the edges. Idk why more sandwich spots do this. I'm gonna go back and try more. Good location, by Cherry records and a bookstore I'm gonna check out. Cool spot, cool location.

    This sandwich was huge !

Stopped in and grabbed a gluten-free turkey sandwich -- it was amazing and huge! Great service, and I was impressed by how many gluten-free snacks they had stocked. I'll definitely be stopping by again next time I'm headed up to the lake. Solid spot if you're looking for good food with gluten-free options!

    This is a rock.

Good place for fresh juice. "I love Denice" seem to be the healthiest - with beets. Also a good selection of sandwiches.

Nice little hole in the wall in downtown Auburn. I'd walked by many times and finally stopped in for lunch. My only regret is this was my first time. For such a small footprint of space they pack a LOT into it! Fresh food made to order while you wait a long with cold drinks and some bulk items as well.

The BEST Vegan "cheese" sauce ever!

The Super Veggie Bro's Sis is the BEST sandwich I have ever eaten!!! My husband loves the Sunflower Nut-Tuna (pictured in the photo). I think it's the pickled onions that make it so I buy extra, as well as their "cheese" sauce and slather it on everything, especially the sandwich! Thank you Auburn Bodega for having such healthy and yummy VEGAN options. Love & Kale, Chef AJ

Great little grocery store/deli. Sandwiches are amazing. The only girl working was an absolute rockstar juggling the orders and checking people out. Big props to her.

The store inventory is huge with various brands, all top notch. The inventory is fresh as well. Meaning no expired products on the shelf. Super clean and well organized shop. The current staff does a walk about asking everyone if they have they need assistance. If one person doesn't know, they will get a coworker that can provide additional information. The shop also carries small but mighty inventory of grocery staples, fresh produce, prepackaged local meat and chicken, water filling station, makeup, and local made soap, Another thing to not is that they discontinued their purchase punch cards . I've been here before it's been a couple of years, but I will say that the experience did not disappoint at all. I will say the customer service is much better at this location than what I experienced at the Arden Way location. Even if I didn't have to come pick up a package in this area, it will still worth the 35 minute drive from my house to come to this location. My cashier Brooke was super friendly and very helpful and answered my question about a specific inquiry. She thoroughly explained that there was an update and entering my phone number for my prime benefits, may not work, and I most likely would need to use the Amazon app scan code option to receive my prime discount. She even went above and beyond to give me further instructions regarding that. I truly appreciated her being so helpful, so patient and displaying such great customer service. My whole visit today was super pleasant. I purchased the artesian sandwich was delicious by the way. I was sad about one thing, though, my salad the sesame cucumber noodle salad was all sold out, but I understand why as Brooke even explained it is one of the most popular salads and does go pretty quick. I still will come back because the experience alone was just that great.

Yet another negative review for this place... here we go!…read more I think Whole Foods has finally succeeded in pushing away a loyal customer. For the past year and a half, I've spent an absurd amount of money in this store -- especially in the meat department -- and the service has been consistently disappointing. The issue isn't with the entire store, but specifically with a few employees in the meat department who behave as if customers owe them something. I've dealt with head-shakings, condescending remarks, and an overall attitude that makes it feel like I'm inconveniencing them with simple, reasonable requests. I'm not asking anyone to go hunt down a cow -- just basic customer service. I'm done spending my hard earned money in a place that treats customers this way. I've switched to Nugget Market, and honestly, I should've done it a long time ago. The difference is night and day: I'm treated with respect, my business feels appreciated, and every request at their meat counter is met with a smile and a genuine "of course." And while we're at it -- the deli department at Whole Foods is another headache. The long waits, the lack of urgency, the "we'll get to you when we get to you" vibe... it's exhausting. All the negative reviews speak for themselves. I don't know what's going on with the culture at this store, but thankfully, it's no longer my problem. Goodbye, Whole Foods. Hello, Nugget!!!
