    Shrimp tacos.
    Nancy G.

Penryn Grill is fairly new family owned grill located right next to the 76 station. I saw some posts and thought we should try it out. We went on our way up the I-80. I tried the Shrimp Tacos. I got 3 impressive tacos with large yummy shrimp. The best shrimp tacos in many many years. My husband got Smoked Brisket plate. Excellent. It is a thin (but not too thin) and tender. Has a light amount of BBQ sauce. The option side is Cole slaw but hubby substituted Fries and the fries were very good. They have a large tap selection of beers and option of wine. Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a stop.

Crispy Chicken Dinner - tasty and very hot & crispy thigh and drumstick, legit mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies.

Today was our first visit to Penryn Grill and it lived up to the good reviews. Great food and service and very reasonable prices! A rarity in today's world, that's for sure. The place feels comfortable, lots of TVs for those who are interested, and super clean!! Our server, Bre 2, couldn't have been better and was not only efficient but informative and really friendly! Also a rarity in today's world. Keep up the good work Bre 2! We had the crispy chicken dinner and a quesadilla. Chicken was tasty, hot and extra crispy, legit real mashed potatoes and gravy, veggies and a delicious little honey bun too. Great meal for $14! Quesadilla was four big pieces with pico and sour cream. We subbed guac for sour cream, for a minimal charge. Our drinks were a lavender lemonade and a Michelob draft. Both cold and hit the spot on this unseasonably hot day. They make fresh soup every day and will go back to try the clam chowder on their Seafood Friday. If you're looking for a new place and like to support local businesses, try Penryn Grill and then spread the news!

Connected to the 76 gas station off Hwy 80 and Penryn sits a charming little restaurant with a lovely outdoor seating area! We were lucky enough to try this place during its opening week. The interior is super cute, and the staff is fantastic! We enjoyed our visit and would love to come back, but we did feel that some things could be improved. We got the deviled eggs, which were delicious, but there were only three on the plate as a starter--you'd think there would be a couple more. The chicken wings were served naked with a side of dipping sauce, but the waitress kindly offered to bring us a bowl to toss them ourselves. We also split a burger and a side of mac 'n cheese, both of which were yummy. We're looking forward to coming back and trying other options on the menu!

I tried this place out. The shrimp tacos were very good. The beer and wine selection was abundant with local varieties. With the quality of the tacos, I am sure the rest of the menu is just as good

At first driving in to a 76 station, we were confused! They did an amazing job with the decor. This place is incredibly comfortable. I think we would describe it as contemporary-rustic in an upscale way. Ashley gave us great suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. She has a delightful personality. The food is absolutely incredible! We tried many of the appetizers. There are several things that are "Fridays only", so I think we will have to come back again very soon. This is truly a hidden gem! There are lots of TV screens for sports enthusiasts. We would highly recommend this experience.

    Burger bun was well done.

The drinks are so good. The root beer has a little bit of cinnamon in it. It tastes good but the cinnamon is really strong so you kinda have to sip it. I suggest that they pull back on the cinnamon in the root beer. It looks like a regular cozy western bar. One of the employees even fixed the tv just so we can actually watch it. But it's just the normal sports network. The ribs were really good. The rub tasted so good and rich. They were tender but juicy. I would get the ribs again just not the root beer. The root beer wasn't that good because of the cinnamon flavor that they put into it.

There was a bit of a wait, so we decided to sit at the bar and wait for our table. The manager took our order, and he was very nice and very helpful. He answered all of our questions, gave a couple recommendations, and even gave me a sample of the potato salad, and a sample of their root beer that they make in house. We decided to go with the wings (half Korean and half buffalo) They were amazing. I preferred the Korean, but both were really good. Then we got the meat plate, with tri tip and brisket, with a side of chimichuri fries and potato salad. The brisket was really good, tender and fell apart. The tri tip was also good, but it was sliced pretty thick and not quite as tender. Still very good though. The potato salad is a German potato salad, so it doesn't have mayo in it. Ive never had this kind of potato salad before, but it was really good. the chimichuri fries were also good. This was more than enough food for the 2 of us to share. The table next to me had some really good looking food, specifically the nachos and the Cuban Sandwich. I would come back here again for more brisket, but also to try a sandwich and the nachos.

After being floored by the gorgeous flowers and plants in the nursery, we stumbled upon the café. We were greeted promptly, seated quickly, and enjoyed their beautiful outdoor patio. The weather was perfect, and the ambiance was incredible. We ordered the rotisserie chicken pizza and the banana bread French toast. The pizza was amazing! The banana bread French toast was a little dense, but still very tasty. We'd definitely go back and explore more items on the menu.

When we arrived, we were seated quickly with no reservation and no wait, which was the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. Our server introduced himself, but communication was difficult throughout the meal. We ordered drinks and asked for a few minutes to review the menu. When we asked what the soup of the day was, he initially told us clam chowder, then immediately said he needed to go find out. More than 10 minutes later, he returned, and when we asked again, he admitted he had forgotten and left once more. After another lengthy wait, he finally informed us the soup of the day was split pea. We then attempted to order a pizza and were told that pizzas could not be ordered until 10:30 a.m. At the time, it was only around 9:30 a.m. I decided to order the Peach & Prosciutto Flatbread appetizer instead, only to be told that couldn't be ordered either because it was made in the oven. None of this was communicated when we were first seated, nor was it noted on the menu. It makes little sense to open at 9:00 a.m. while offering guests a menu containing multiple items that aren't actually available for another hour and a half. Had this been clearly explained from the beginning, it would have saved a great deal of frustration. By this point, I was hot, irritated, and no longer interested in ordering food. Had we not already received our drinks, I likely would have left. The other members of our party ordered the $21 breakfast burrito and the $25 smoked prime rib sandwich. Both were extremely mediocre for the price. The burrito was wrapped in a corn tortilla rather than a flour tortilla, had already come unrolled, and quickly became a messy, difficult to eat disaster. The prime rib sandwich was served on very dry bread and lacked flavor. Neither dish justified the premium pricing. The dining environment was equally disappointing, there were flies everywhere. We spent much of the meal swatting flies away from our food and ourselves, making it nearly impossible to relax or enjoy the experience. Management should seriously consider addressing this issue with proper fly traps or Quikstrike. After our food arrived, our server never returned to check on us, ask how the meal was, or offer water refills. When the bill was finally brought out, we waited another 10+ minutes before he returned to process payment. By then, we simply wanted to leave. What was most noticeable was how many people were waiting for tables while service moved at an incredibly slow pace. Faster, more attentive service would have allowed tables to turn over more efficiently and reduced wait times for other guests. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had here. Between the poor communication, lack of attentiveness, unavailable menu items, mediocre food, uncomfortable dining conditions, and excessive wait times, the value simply isn't there anymore. We left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The service we received warranted a $0 tip, and for the first time, we're questioning whether we'll ever return.

His kitchen failed him We started with a gem caesar salad so heavy with anchovies we could not eat it. First bad sign Dinner took over an hour and half to arrive (second bad sign). The restaurant did take $$ off the bill, so kudos, but I will never go there again and will tell as many people as I can to avoid the place
