Such a beautiful spot! This wine bar and creperie feels like a dream plucked from Paris and dropped into Nashville. The owners are so nice and knowledgeable about French wines. They do weekly wine tastings on Tuesday's that are fun, welcoming and informative! I also recommend you stay after the tasting and order their crepes and other cocktail options. This is perfect for an after dinner drink or even a lowkey date night. I have to come back and get their crème brûlée!

Omg this place is so cute and the guys behind the bar are so fun, interesting, and knowledgeable. Would recommend for wine lovers and for cheese lovers. All the food we had was fantastic and paired well with the recommended wine. Brock will not lead you astray and he's honest about pricing too which is nice because so many people are just worried about selling you the most expensive pours. 10/10!

Did a Bordeaux themed tasting here and it was excellent!! Brock was knowledgeable and the wines were perfect!! Can't wait to do another. Cheers!

Cute and cozy spot! Everyone who worked there was super nice, constantly checking in on us. The meat/cheese charcuterie board was divine! The bread that it came with was so so good! The steak tartare was amazing. Had to end with with the Nutella crepe with bananas. Needless to say we had no leftovers!

Enjoy a Parisian Bistro with friendly, French speaking staff, with a diverse, European wine bar, in a small, clean Paris style bistro. Dining also has European emphasis on charcuterie and small plates. The Cheese and Charcuterie is well curated, with excellent cheeses and meats, but could use more fruit and nuts other than peanuts. Confiture de Fraise with extra strawberries is excellent.

Attended a French wine tasting and had the best time. Brock was so knowledgeable on the histories of the wines and the owners were beyond friendly. Charcuterie board was demolished too!

My friend and I enjoyed our first trip (definitely not the last) to The Authentique last night and it was truly lovely! We got to meet the proprietor Alex, who is multi lingual and so charming! He also happened to be the one who made our crêpes, croque monsieur, and crème brule.... Which were all exceptional! My friend had a delicious white wine and I had a flight of the bold reds. The wines were wonderfully curated and the food was fresh and delicious. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly!

Went to The Authentique for their "Tour de France" wine tasting. Alexandre was an absolute delight, extremely knowledgeable and such a joy to learn from. The wine bar is cozy and intimate and I made some great connections!

This place is truly a Nashville gem! The restaurant immediately makes you feel like you've left East Nashville and entered into a beautiful 1920s French themed wine cellar. The interior design alone is captivating and if you visit during their live Jazz hour, it adds even more to the experience. The owner is extremely knowledgeable of all of his wines and makes you feel very welcomed the moment you walk through the doors. The food is also amazing and they all pair so well with the unique wine selection. This place has easily become of of my favorite East Nashville Gems

Recently moved to the East side of the city and have been in search of a chill wine bar, and then boom, we spotted The Authentique (Thanks Yelp!) The Authentique is a French inspired wine bar that sits in a non-descript strip mall on Gallatin Avenue not far from Tailgate Brewery, Kroger and Publix. While the exterior is pretty unassuming and to be honest, "meh", the moment you walk in the door you pick up the vibe of quaint wine bar. From the ornate ceiling tiles, to the dark walls with artwork in oversized frames to the decorative lighting, this place certainly knows who they are. While everything above sounds grandiose, this spot is quite small...they just have a lot packed into this small space! This is the perfect spot for a small meet up, date night or even a pre/post dinner night cap...but anything beyond a group of 4 is going to be tough here. The bar seats around 10, then there are 3 hightops and 4 to 5 standard tables ranging in 2 to 4 tops. For the best enjoyment for you and everyone else, I would say this is not the spot for a large group or party. Now down to the goods! We had a few glasses of wine that were recommended to us by the owner, and we paired it with the charcuterie board. The wine was excellent, a great recommendation and great sip. The charcuterie board was standard, nothing exciting, but definitely nothing terrible. It paired well with our wine. Both came at a premium cost, which was not surprising, but slightly surprising. Two glasses of wine and a charcuterie board ran us around $60. Overall, The Authentique is a great find and a place that we will certainly swing back through when the vibe beckons! Outside of the cost above, my only other issue is that on the night we went, it was blazing hot inside. Not sure if that is a temperature regulation thing for the wine, but it was pretty unpleasant, which is why we only stayed for one glass.

    Gorgeous bar and interior

The curse of Rumours continues!…read more I don't know that any business can survive this address. My first BW review of the year and it seems to have come as a surprise. Whispers abound as to whether the issue at VG was a rent hike or whether the owner just lost interest. In any event, it's the same sad story at the corner of 12th and Woodland. And that's too bad because VG acquitted itself nicely. On a Friday in mid-spring it was the exact right place I wanted to be to catch up with a friend. That backyard has been the stuff of legends for every iteration for a reason. If you've been here for a while, you know the score: walk in the front, smile, be greeted, ask for a table outside. That's just what we did. But before that we got drinks. Being a wine bar and being happy hour and being a Friday we went all in on the house red sangria. Served in a pleasantly large goblet, this goodie jar of wine and fruit did the job of quenching thirst and spurring conversation. To add to the libations, we settled on a series of bites: whipped feta (with sourdough -- and every bit of decadent as described in other reviews), olive tapenade (a briny, mound of oil, citrus and herbs) and (skinny) fries with parmesan & white truffle oil. Right?? What a perfect way to end the work week and begin the weekend. We had wonderful service from Abby and stayed on premises well into sundown. There was a steady crowd throughout our visit so I don't think a lack of business was the COD. Whatever the reason, it sort of boggles the mind that a wine bar concept can't stick around in a neighborhood and location that seems to crave it. That curse might be real.

I thought both were ok, nothing super memorable, but tasty nonetheless. Maybe it was just my taste, but the sprouts were a little too charred for me. I was then informed that if I wanted food, I would need to return to the other side of the venue to place that order. Once seated, Katie came to the table with a bubbly and positive attitude (she was fantastic). She took our order quickly and stayed on top of the beverages. Starters Caesar salad with spicy breadcrumbs was the best and most fresh tasting Caesar my husband and I have ever tasted... not too much dressing but very flavorful Truffle potatoes with truffle cream sauce and parsley powder came with a punch of savory flavor and a nice crunch wonderfully delicious. Only disappointment was there was not more! Mussels White Wine with freshly toasted local sourdough bread. The mussels were cooked perfectly and made with a perfect blend of citrus and garlic broth. What is the point of making a reservation if you are going to be seated 45 minutes after your scheduled reservation time? But if a guest checks in even slightly after their reservation time, they can be removed from the list, charged a fee or, in some cases, even banned from the reservation app. The expectations should go both ways. Unfortunately, the host experience made the situation even more frustrating. I watched the red haired host at the front desk seat people who appeared to be friends ahead of parties who had reservations. I even heard her say, "There's no manager tonight, I'll seat you guys now. They're putting silverware down." Meanwhile , we were still waiting well past our reservation time. Our only saving grace was our server, Shauna. This restaurant needs to hold onto her. She was an absolute light, and her personality, attentiveness, and recommendations completely saved the vibe of our night. She deserves recognition for the experience she provided. We will absolutely come back for Shauna but the restaurant as a whole could really benefit from a new host rotation and a serious look at how reservations are being handled. Don't let your hosts run a little high school hierarchy of seating their friends before reservations and returning locals. If you're going to take reservations, we honor them.
