My friend Stephanie stumbled upon this place and fell in love! We walked in and the place was packed. I ordered the Phat Nachos and she ordered the Wings. The guy at the register was nice and answered our (what seemed like) 50,000 questions about the menu. The food was great (probably the best nachos I've ever had in my life!!) but what we loved most was the live big band jazz that we found out happens every other Tuesday night. The musicians were all VERY talented and if this place were close to my house in West Nashville, I would be there every time they played. My waistline probably thanks me for that. read more

I've been coming here since the bar was a bathroom so when I recommend this place I mean it. i tell ppl that they have the best wings. I was Pretty disappointed when my wing order was wrong and the bartender said that there was nothing they could do about it. I had to order and pay full price for 10 more wings. And honestly its pretty obvious that they are going by a new wing vender due to the size and quality of the wings. tbh I think ill Have to look for a new wing spot due to the service and quality what a shame read more

PHAT BITES... my beloved. Where do I begin? My boyfriend lives in the Donelson area, and he and his buddies are frequent flyers at Phat's. I finally had the chance to make my way over, and let me tell you, it truly is a hidden gem. The ambiance is divey and unique, with decorations that have a personality. The staff is so friendly and I felt at home my first time in. Now let me get to the menu. Insanely yummy with a unique flair. Holy cow. You can't go wrong with anything!! My personal favorites are the BLTremendous, 4/20 Burger, and Hummus Envy.I forget to take pictures each time I go because the food is too good, which should tell you something. They have performers several times a week that are always fun, and for Halloween, they had pumpkin carving/painting. Just overall a great place to grab a beer, have some good food and chill out. What a wild place. The location is in the back of an Ace Hardware, and looks like a stoner dreamed it up (not in a bad way). The place is small and they have a stage for live music. Don't be deceived by their online menu like I initially was - they have WAY more than what is posted online. I loved my chicken parm sandwich. It is a very casual, relaxed place with eclectic decor. They were playing 80s pop when we were there and a live group was moving to set up. Ordering was a little confusing but the order taker filled us in. You order at the counter and you are given a pager. When the food is ready your pager will activate and your food will be in the order pick-up area. Our party of three had various sandwiches with sides. My Ruben on rye was very good. Phat Bites is honestly an all time favorite for me. The menu is pretty consistently changing which I really love because it offers me a chance at such a wider selection of food than I would normally endulge in. They also feature a copious variety of drinks ranging from waters, wines, beer, canned cold brew, and even thc infused seltzers! The main hype I find around the location though is the use of space. they have a wonderful outdoor seating area with a TV which is great for watching sports if you're a fan like me. Inside it hits you with decorations everywhere and a small stage toward the back of the room. Last time I went was a Wednesday night and they had live jazz which was very unexpected! Absolutely one of my favorite little nashville gems. Great food, great service, fantastic ambiance. Whether you wanna eat inside, outside or sit at the bar, you're going to feel comfortable and have a great time either way. Food is creative and delicious. I had the "New Reality" sandwich and would immediately order it again. Ended up getting lucky and came on a Wednesday night where they had a fantastic little jazz band playing. My boyfriend and I ended up staying an extra hour just to enjoy the ambiance and listen to them for a while. One of the few places we go to time and time again. One friend got this hummus plate and another friend got the special smoked chicken. It all looked good. Ambiance - we came during the day and as bright as it was outside it was equally dark inside lol. They had a drum kit and stage set up but no live music. I think we found our new favorite spots to grab a bite to eat! We had a friend visiting and he wanted to try out any Nashville restaurant that had been featured on the Food Network. Phat Bites had been on my list for a while but it is a bit far from where we leave to just drop in. Parking - plenty of it. Decor - super eclectic but it just seemed to fit the restaurant. Drinks - there is a separate bar area from the main restaurant that you can order alcohol at and bring over to the main area to eat. Food - amazing. Both my husband and our friend ordered the Reuben sandwich. Our friend said it was THE BEST Reuben he had ever had and he's a sandwich guy. My husband said it was in his Top 3 Reubens. He's the picky one and he devoured the entire thing so fast, I was still prepping my salad when he finished! They both loved that the meat was on the thin side--no super chewy pieces, the sauerkraut was good and the amount was not overwhelming and they really loved the sauce. I got to enjoy some of my husband's skillet potatoes (perfectly seasoned) and the marinated veggies. I ordered a Julia's Caesar salad. I asked for the Caesar dressing to be on the side because I hate a heavily-dressed salad. I did not even need to use the dressing. The pesto on the chicken served as a delicious dressing for the entire salad. There was a very generous portion of chicken too. The salad came with a huge serving of hummus and a warm pita on the side. I could not finish my meal because there was so much food. Our friend kept saying, "I'm so jealous that you guys live in Nashville and can come here whenever you want." I've never had anyone say that before! I can't wait to go back. The reviews are decent and I was in the area so why not pop-in? First off, it was very dark in here and nothing looked like it had been cleaned in quite a while, but I decided to stick out. I ordered the hot and cold sweats sandwich and the Ruben. The H&S sandwich was disgusting. The meat was almost all fat and the taste was definitely off, not exaggerating, it was sort of like an old wet sponge. One bite and I was out. Not to mention the piece of wood I found in my one bite? I don't really know what it was. See picture. The Rueben was halfway decent, but just an OK sandwich couldn't save this meal. The sides that came with each sandwich were also, inedible. Both sides, skillet potatoes and marinated veggies, tasted and looked way past their due date. The marinated veggies looked as if they sat out all night and were then thrown back in the fridge for an hour before being served. Like I stated before, cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority here as the outdoor patio had cigarette butts everywhere and junk loaded carts.
