So my 2015 Scion FRS is in a need of some paint correction mostly because I plan to add paint protection film to my entire vehicle's front end sometime early next month. The vehicle had acquired many scratches and swirls after the dealership had "washed" my car before releasing it to me [from when purchased it]. Unfortunately for me I just have so many errands that I do not have the time or motivation to spend an entire day doing this one task. And of course living in the city, finding an adequate location to do proper detailing is nearly impossible (especially if you live in an apt complex and dont own a home with a garage). Long story short, My car was left there the entire day while I went to run my errands. Got back towards end of day and my car was ready for me in satisfactory condition (majority of the scratches were either gone or reduced visibility. Any remaining blemishes would require probably heavy or severe compounding which may take more time to correct). The only thing for me was there was a bit of leftover wax residue on certain body panels - but nothing I couldn't take care of myself. The workers there are courteous and I did not experience any of the hostile examples as mentioned in some previous reviews. Communication is just okay though as I had to call in to get an update on my car, but I did get an answer. The important thing here is the quality of work and I believe that the employee did the best he could to fulfill my expectations. All in all, I may bring my girlfriends car for some detailing too. read more

They would not honor the Groupon it would not clean unconditional leather and steam clean the floor mat even though it says that on the Groupon. This is a classic bait and switch they said they would just clean the exterior and I would have to pay extra to get the interior cleaned. I showed them the Groupon offer but they didn't care. I also bought the Groupon for the exterior detail service. I called them up and got a reservation for the following morning, first thing. I left the car with them for what they said would be most of the day. I had these splotches from fruit that had fallen from a tree in my driveway, and no amount of scrubbing would get them out of the jet black paint on my car (P.S. I'll never buy another black car). Nader, the guy I worked with there, took a look at the car and made sure I knew that I shouldn't get my hopes up about getting that stuff out of the paint. Often times when stuff like that is left on the finish for several days it is nearly impossible to remove unless the car is taken to a body shop where they literally sand it down and then refinish the car. All that said, when I picked up the car it looked brand-spanking new, with 95% of the splotches entirely removed! My expectations were set at a realistic level, and then they were dramatically exceeded. So much so that I couldn't put a paper coffee cup on the roof without it sliding off, the paint was that glassy smooth. A+++ for Auto Spa. I'll definitely take my car back. read more

I am a huge car enthusiast. I did not use this service because of the Yelp deal. In fact, I needed to get my car fully detailed before getting an inspection for my lease return. I got the Premium package with the clay and interior detailing. If you did not get the Premium service, but was expecting "premium" service, then yeah, you may be disappointed. A car wash is not going to make your car look brand new. Getting your car clayed will. It will actually make your car look better than new because it removes the "orange peel" look. I don't know how anyone would have a bad experience here. I have recommended this company to many people. And that includes the high-end clientele. I ended up here because of the Yelp deal. I can't recall when I purchased the Yelp deal, but I believe its been a while. Perhaps that is why I had NO problem getting an appointment - I made a Saturday appointment earlier that week. (As an aside, that is typically how I roll with these deals - buy the deal and then wait a while...) While my car is only two years ago and I myself keep it very clean, I was highly impressed with the work product. For $49, I got an amazing job. The car was spotless - the interior was spectacular and like new and the exterior was great. They even let me keep my car there overnight because I was not able to get back to the shop by the time they closed. Friendly and prompt service. I walked in, confirmed my name and appointment and left the keys. I returned two days later, handed over my Yelp certificate and away I went. The little pug there today stole the show. Everyone at work must think I have a serious coke habit. I have a pretty good job and yet I drive a 9-year old Ford Focus. It may only have 85,000 miles but the interior was getting pretty hideous. Two cross country drives and more trail running, camping and Tahoe trips than I can count resulted in a nasty accumulation of food spills, crumbs, sweat and dirt. After few hours at The Auto Spa, my car now looks brand new. Carpets and seats look amazing and the console, dash, and steering wheel were sparkling. This is a follow up to a glowing review that I wrote last year on the OTHER profile that I somehow can't access now... Suffice to say that these guys bend over backwards for you! The first time I met Nader and crew, it wasn't for a detail. I had run out of gas literally in front of their shop and had left my wallet at home. In Oakland. Duurrr...but they offered a gas can, GAVE ME a few bucks and suppressed what urge they may have had to shake their heads and wonder how I'd managed to live this long. But I actually think they are so nice, that judgement didn't occur to them - they just genuinely are nice and wanted to help. We talked cars for a while - they like my car, so of course they endeared themselves to me...:) They also helped me get the neck of the gas can down into the awkward angle of my gas tank. Did I mention that they did all this in POURING rain, with a smile? Not too many folks with customer service like that! The second experience was under much better circumstances. I needed to get a full interior/exterior detail, and they were AMAZING. I have a black car. Need I say more? The color tends to show everything: nicks, scratches, swirl marks, generic goo....these guys took the whole day (I sure didn't mind!) and my black beauty came out with a mirror shine, looking ready to show! My car is getting respect as a collectible (1987 BMW 635CSi), so I'm not only picky, but it takes good, meticulous work to make sure she looks her best. I am VERY happy with the job they've done. Nader and his VERY hard working crew know their stuff! Carpets, paint, top notch cleaning materials...you name it, they are up on all the latest. They clearly like what they do and take pride in it. Nader read my review on Yelp and messaged me right away, because he wanted to make things right. He offered to properly detail the inside, AND the outside. So, I scheduled another time to leave my car there for a day. He called me the day before to confirm the appointment, and to discuss my prior experience. When I dropped my car off, we talked about any specific items that I was concerned about - I mentioned having the seats properly cleaned, confirmed that they use fragrance-free products, and asked if they typically clean the headliner with the interior detail? It's not customary to do so, but they'd work on it. Nice! Good customer service on Nader's part. From our conversations, I get that he's very proud of the service he provides and the work they do. The final product? Although there's still some bug splatter on the front end, the exterior looks pretty good. Very shiny, no missing streaks. And the interior? It's impeccable! read more

I was flexible with my appointment availability as well as leaving it over night, and they did an excellent job cleaning up my neglected car. (I want to say to peeps who think they take too long that many shops - detail or repair - who are smaller and have better prices take hours to do work. I got a Groupon about a year ago for a $75 detail worth I believe $150-$200. I admittedly slacked on calling and booking an appointment. Yes, I had to wait about 4 or 5 months to get my car in. (When I saw the stack of "Groupons" on the desk in the body shop I understood why) I dropped my car off early, the guy there was probably not that stoked that it was 7am on a Monday, I can't blame him. He asked me my phone number and where the key was. I told him and left. I thought for sure he would look the car over and suggest that I should do (fill in the blank) that would cost more. I actually asked him if I should do something additional to what the deal covered. He said no. I picked my car up in the afternoon and it looks immaculate. It was shinny like it hadn't been since I drove it off the lot. The inside was cleaned, carpets shampooed, what more could I ask for? Sure, quicker service, but it was a car detail, I have never heard of an emergency car detail in all my life. I have come to learn that when you buy a Groupon, yelp deal, living social deal, etc, you will not get immediate satisfaction if its an in person service, especially in SF. Is that The Auto Spa's fault? No, so be patient, you will be happy with the results. Don't expect them to kiss your butt, they wont. Don't expect them to sound remotely customer service oriented on the phone either. But expect your car to look really good when you get it. I would even consider bringing my car in another time without a "group deal" and have them do the full service on it. If it looks this good when I paid what I did, I could only imagine what it would look like if I spent some more money. read more

Took my CRV here for a badly needed post Burning Man cleaning. The white playa dust completely covered the black interior and exterior. And the car had a good amount of wear and tear on it before that. Their yelp listing said they were post Burn experts, and they don't lie. My car is as clean inside and out as the day I took delivery on it brand new four years ago. They also cleaned under the hood - the engine looks newer than when I bought it. Every little nook and cranny on the inside is pristine, and I'm not sure I've ever seen my car shine like this on the outside. Definitely headed back here first stop after BRC next year. Very reasonable price compared to the other top tier detail places, and very much worth every cent and then some. read more

I jumped on a coupon for this place and called ten minutes after I bought it. They told me to bring my car right down. The owner or manager who I dealt with was so sweet. As was the one eyed pug he saved, "who goes with him everywhere". The detailing on my Ford Explorer was total perfection. It is fifteen years old but thanks to auto spa now looks new. They even shampoo, not just vacuum, the carpets. I will return, and bring dog treats next time. read more

My white Honda S2000 was going to be in a wedding. That is, it was going to be the "get-away" car for the bride & groom to leave the reception in. Of course I agreed, but I wanted it to be pristine for the newly-weds. I decided to splurge and take it to a professional instead of cleaning it myself. But there's only so much you can do with a 10-year-old car, right? Wrong. The Auto Spa completely transformed it. The paint now looks like flawless, polished white tile. Chips, nicks, fine lines from "brushless" car washes, all general dullnes-- gone. Everything is cleaner than imaginable. Wheels, scrubbed clear through to the axles, carpets shampooed, leather upholstery polished. The car is absolutely radiant. It looks better than new. The job cost $179--a bargain, compared to the pride I felt when I handed over the keys to my friend at his wedding. And to think--I'll be driving this baby from now on. Our SUV has taken us across the country twice. We have been to remote places,skiing, camping, exploring, or just on the road... Our car has never let us down, but boy: was it dirty!!! Dirt, coffee stains... anyways, everything! We are very clean people, but still, the car ended up accumulating stains over the past few years!! All of it and more, GONE in one day! This was the best yelp deal we have ever bought!!! Sooooo worth it!! These guys were nice and helpful. We set up an appointment the first time we called. Yes, it was for a few weeks later, but it's totally understandable that they are always so busy! Specially after this deal went public! Beware and plan a month in advance. It's worth it the wait! I just picked up my 2006 VW GTI. I wish I could say that I was completely pleased, but there are a couple of things about the experience that rubbed me the wrong way. I dropped the car off in the morning, giving them a full 8 hours to get the job done. They were still finishing up as I came by at 6:30 to pick the car up. This in itself wasn't an issue, but it did seem as though they missed a few things. The floor mats were still wet, and when I asked to have them dried I was told to "Wait for them to finish drying". Seems to me that picking up a towel and drying them off would have worked fine. He did take them out and slap them together a bit, though. The rest of the job looked pretty good, so I paid them and drove home. Once home, I took a closer look at the rear bumper and noticed that neither the chrome tail pipe, nor the underneath section of the bumper were clean. No big deal, I figured I'd give them a ring and see what they wanted to do about it. So I called who I assume to be the manager, who listened to my problem, and then abruptly called over the person who did the detailing and put him on the phone. That led to some confusion. He offered to have me bring it back so they could wipe down the bumper (it will take 5 seconds, I believe I was told). Considering that the detailing package that I purchased was $200, I expected that I shouldn't have had to worry about the car being clean. I suggested that they might just want to provide me with a car wash in the future. Initially that request was turned down, but then the request was finally passed back to the manager who said that it was fine. Whether or not they will follow through with this since they failed to ask for any of my information is yet to be determined. Kudos for making it right, but it seems that they could have been less rude in correcting the issue. read more

Phone scheduling was pretty gruff and unfriendly, but all in all I'm happy. They did a great job detailing my tc and its fancy rims, and shed light on why there had been some peeling on one or two of the rims previously--having to do with chemicals left on too long at the last place I took it to (I hate to say it, but for all I boasted about them, Keatley is responsible for that damage). Also, I didn't have to pay for parking downtown that day. Always a bonus. Next time I need a deep clean I'll be coming back. read more

Nadr and especially Carlos!!! have turned my ding's into magic acts making them completely unnoticeable. If you're like me and less of a car buff, but want your car buffed until you can see your reflection in it's shine and high polish after Nader and his crew have literally waxed, wiped, and visited every inch of its interior and exterior, then the Auto Spa is the place to take your ride for a full body treatment. Service: Friendly, honest, straightforward and hassle-free to make an appointment, but you should make one ahead of time. Handiwork: Gleaming! Exterior + interior, but worth noting that the care in detailing is present on the rims, wheels, floormats, vents, controls and even inside the trunk -- all the overlooked parts. "Extra credit": As Nader put it, they went the extra mile at no extra charge to make an unfortunate scrape on the rear door almost disappear. What was a pretty obvious scar on the paint job became something barely noticeable thanks to the amazing results delivered by these guys, who clearly take a lot of pride in their work. After the service when I got home, I admit that I did a proud owner doubletake back at my car to revel at its showroom newness. Highly recommend this service. read more

My car looks absolutely amazing. Spotless. I did not have to tell them to get into the nooks and cranny. Other places miss the sides of the seats and forget/don't know to move the leg rest in BMW's to clean where a lot of grossness end up. They knew, and they took care of it. I had no idea that a "mini detail" or basic package at any detailer could get my car to look so darn good. Don't let the other detailer's nice waiting areas and short detail time fool you. Their mini detail is actually cheaper than other places and they do a much better job. read more

The last time I saw my car look this good is when I drove it off the lot four years ago! I came in with mediocre expectations, and became amazed when I saw the final result. Like other recent reviewers, I purchased the Yelp deal, which included a car detailing. I expected them to make my car look pretty, but not brand-spanking new! I am impressed with their efficiency and quality service. I even had a huge scratch on the front of my car from a tragic hit and run accident. However, it has now been magically erased. I just got my car back from Auto Spa and I couldn't be happier. I have two dogs, have driven cross country and made about five trips to Portland and back in this car. I drink coffee, consume pizza, and am generally the kind of slob that might warrant a candid camera moment to get me to change my ways. I have smoked in the car, let the dogs jump all over it, and have generally not treated it very well. When I got the car back, it looked and smelled just like it did when I bought it at the dealership. A - MAZ - ING. I called and was able to get an appointment within a few days. When I mixed up the appointment time, they called just to check on me and were friendly about reminding me that I was supposed to be there at 8, not 9. I got a call that afternoon saying the car wouldn't be ready until the next day around noon. I showed up at noon and the car looked brand-spanking new. It looked so good I felt guilty for being in it unshowered. Windows, dash, those hard to reach cupholder and font pocket areas, inside the tire wells, under the floor mats, between the seats... even the flip over cupholder in the back seat that only seems to serves as a place for crumbs and lint to collect was immaculate when I turned it over. My boyfriend dropped me back off and was also impressed with their work and plans to bring his car in. To me, it is worth the money to have a brand-new looking car once a year and Auto Spa has made a customer for life out of me. read more

I had a dirty Subaru covered in dog hair and grim from living in the mountains for the past 2 years. They guys at "The Auto Spa" did a great job. These guys do superb work. I brought in my 1 year old Volvo covered in road grime and tree sap, with dirt ground into the cream-colored leather, and several noticeable scratches and dings on the exterior. I drove away what appeared to be a brand new car. Every piece of black molding on the exterior, the gray trim inside, the trunk compartment, and even the engine area under the hood is spotless. They also charged me what I thought was a very reasonable amount for "paintless dent removal" and well, it worked. I have been to other local detail shops and can say that The Auto Spa's quality is noticeably better. Just bring your car here, pet the friendly pooch, and enjoy the jealous stares from pedestrians as you drive home in what everyone else thinks is your sweet new ride. read more

Got my car detailed here in October before selling it. Couple tiny missed details here and there - leftover Armor-All, trunk wasn't properly vacuumed - but these were minor details. Great job for the money. I Love This Place! Scored a deal on Yelp and got both my husband and my cars detailed. Wowie, Zowie, both cars are brand-spankin', like-new clean and polished both inside and out. Nader who works there was especially helpful and really took the time to explain the perks of the service when we arrived to pick up the cars. I must have driven by this obscure detail shop dozens of time and never even knew it existed. Now that I do though you can bet I'll be a regular customer. These guys are rock stars!!! In the matter of one detailing session they managed to remove three years of spills, grime, stains, dust, ash, smog, filth, and even restored the cloth seat molested by McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sauce to its original condition. I thought that stain never would go away. I brought it in as a full-on nasty fest. Nader was very friendly when I came to pick up the vehicle. His first comment was, "What the heck did you do to this thing?" I barely recognized the interior of my car when they were done. The entire car looks brand, spankin' new! I used the Yelp deal for $49 and they went the whole nine yards! I was skeptical, at first, expecting some sort of upsell to get a full treatment, which would require more cash. There was nothing of the kind. Now I am no expert on car detailing. However, my car looks better than it did when I bought it new off the lot. Whatever the complaints say is missing, I am not sure. I am a very picky mofo and was not unhappy whatsoever. Nader even offered for me to come back if I notice anything wrong when viewing the car in the daylight. I doubt I will, but it is a rare occurrence when a business will stick its neck out like that. read more

I was introduced to their business via their Yelp coupon a few months ago.. said why not give them a try since they are conveniently located a shirt walk from downtown SF. I was first a bit disappointed as they were booked solid for weeks, but as a dog owner that uses my SUV frequently there is always going to be a steady state of "dog factor" in my vehicle so I was not in a dire rush. Plus I knew that coming in with the promotion... I think it's reasonable to have a bottleneck as a small business trying to get a jumpstart. All the negative respondents citing the long wait to get an appt. need to put themselves in the shoes of an aspiring business owner and show some understanding! So took it in earlier this week and they did a phenomenal job, inside and out. They took extra time giving a twice or three times over on the trunk, getting most of the dog hair etc. out (which I thought would be impossible to do), way exceeding my expectations. The car has been rejuvenated! Long story short, I highly recommend them, especially if you work anywhere downtown (drop it off in the morning, do your thing, pick it up and bring a smile to the end if your day!). They may hate that I say this, as it is alot of work, but I especially recommend them if you have a pet (please tip or else they may consider adding a pet fee...) read more

I brought my 1998 Toyota Tacoma truck to them for detailing, wash & wax. They did an amazing job inside and out. The bumpers on the car looked brand new as did the entire car!! The employees not only do an outstanding job but they are also honest - they discovered some money ($100) that I had forgotten in the side pocket of my car, and made sure that I knew it was still there when I picked it up. The Auto Spa is easily the best place in SF to get your vehicle detailed. Nader and his crew are awesome, and my vehicles have always left looking brand new. Lots of detail shops are really just interested in how many cars they can get out the door, but Nader is passionate about the quality of the work they put out, and it shows. I've always been a DIY guy when it comes to car washes, because nobody else ever seems to care about the details in my vehicle as much as I do. However, The Auto Spa does it right, so I always know I can get my car cleaned without having to have the awkward conversations about missed spots when I pick it up. What's worse than having your car cleaned and then having to do additional work when you get back home b/c something was missed? That never happens here. It's always 100% at The Auto Spa. read more

I have been using the Auto Spa for a little over a year now and I have had nothing but good experiences. On my first visit, after meticulously cleaning one of my vehicles, I decided to buy a "package" of washes and waxes. I am still working through that purchase. There are quite a few guys working here. The best ones that I have used are Travis and Carlos. I prefer Travis because of his mastery of the English language. Carlos is cool though...he can speak enough to get the job done. Just don't ask him how his weekend was or he will just say "yes". The owner, Nader, is usually lurking somewhere nearby. He is a nice guy and always has a funny story to share. Since I live nearby, they offer to pickup and drop off the cars. I don't usually take them up on this service, but they offer. The place itself is very small and doesn't have much of a waiting room. That doesn't matter to me since I just walk home, but you might want to think about that if you are driving in from a distance. If that is the case, just walk downtown while you wait since the location is so central. Be sure to make a reservation or be prepared for the possibility of being turned away. read more
