Our friends had been here before but they mentioned that this one was a bit jankier than the others but we made do. Celtic Axe Throwing - Austin is a separate business but housed in the Brewtorium. Yes, throw axes!!! It appears to be thing. While I waited, I thought you have never thrown axes on a board. Let's do this darn thang! Have I thrown darts? Yes! Have I shot arrows at a bulls eye? Yep! Have I gone skeet shooting? You betcha! Why not throw axes to add it to my games with a little danger? What is the worst that could happen? Loose a finger or toe...perhaps get knocked in the head from a poor throw? Well none of these thoughts scared me. I did have to sign a waiver disclaimer. This is what should have sent me sprinting out of the building. You always have to face your fear. I did it with no lost body parts...not even a scratch. It was a ton of fun. They go over the rules and you will get I believe 3 warnings and I will say my daughter got a warning for dropping the mallet. They have everything you need to smash and you are able to bring in items also. The people who reserved it after us brought in a bunch due to bulk pick up just happening. Something to think about if you choose to go. I intended to go back with just my daughter and do the paint room and other things they had but we haven't made it back since. There was dust covering almost everything, piles of clutter throughout the space, and very little lighting, which made the entire environment feel uncomfortable rather than exciting. We had made a reservation online, but when we arrived, nothing was set up or ready for us. The masks and gloves we were given were visibly dirty, and the protective suits hanging on the wall looked just as unclean. While we should have worn them, I'm honestly relieved we weren't asked to because they didn't appear sanitary. The entire time we were there, we both felt on edge. The atmosphere was so unsettling that we kept saying it felt like we had walked into the movie House of Wax. We seriously considered leaving, but because of the strict no-refund policy, we decided to stay and make the best of it. The rage room itself was underwhelming. Most of the breakable items were beer bottles, which isn't necessarily a problem, except that several of them still had beer left inside. As we smashed them, the leftover beer sprayed onto us. The room was also much smaller than we expected and was already covered in broken glass and debris before we even started, making it feel crowded and less enjoyable. In total, we spent over $170 after adding an extra crate and purchasing the video footage. For that price, we expected a much cleaner, more organized, and more professional experience. Overall, I can't recommend this place. If you're looking for a fun rage room experience, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This one felt neglected, unsanitary, and simply wasn't worth the money.

We played the Classic Showdown, and it did not disappoint. Devin (our host) and Kayla (our producer) made the whole experience unforgettable. They gave us an opportunity to create our "on air" names and team names; and kept the energy high from start to finish. The competition got surprisingly fierce in the best way, and everyone from the youngest to the oldest in our group was laughing and fully engaged the entire time! If you're looking for something fun and inclusive for a family gathering, birthday party, or group of friends with a wide age range, this is it. 10/10 would recommend.
