Being newbies, it would have really helped to have an explanation of what was going to be happening. My friend asked about the shampoo/conditioner products used and the person acted like she didn't understand the question at all. I had no idea that a large portion would be focused on my face. I would have loved to know what products were applied to my face ahead of time - and I was growing anxious during the treatment, not knowing. I didn't get the impression that the products were "spa" quality. During the 70 min treatment, it was focused alot on repetitive massage movements. I get regular monthly massages, and this was not only NOT relaxing, but at times painful. The technique felt rudimentary. I had to ask to stop a couple times, but communication was difficult. The halo water ring treatment was used less than 5 min during my 70 min treatment, which was disappointing. Afterward, my hair felt like it needed conditioner and was stripped and feeling dry. My hair was blown dry just with her fingers, with no style or technique. I had to go home & shampoo/deep condition and re-dry my hair which was disappointing. We were not impressed with the service. And we had a similiar experience as another review, when we were done a technician DEMANDED a tip! I have NEVER experienced such in-your-face confrontation about a tip. It was so shaming! I do not recommend, at all.

I came in with a huge breakout over my chin and told her that it was happening due to my retinol treatment. She advised me to stop the retinol (which is the opposite of the advice I had been given since my skin is likely purging from it but will stop once it runs its course). During the treatment I never felt her cleanse my skin (which she insisted that she did) or apply serums or creams, I felt barely anything go on and only light touches from her. She never told me what she was putting on my skin. To my horror, at the end she advised that I use neosporin on my acne and do honey masks. Both of which are not advised by anything you see online. I had to rush home to wash my skin in fear that the neosporin would start to do damage immediately. She offered to have my come back for free to do extractions but I will not return, to say the least. I am sure that this woman provides adequate facials to those with normal skin but I would never advise someone with serious acne seeing her.

However at the time of my service with holly she only had about 3 reviews but I guess I shouldn't have mentioned I'd be leaving a review when asking for the refund. So now I feel inclined to leave my honest review. The salon was not the neatest and the room was messy. The equipment was pretty outdated and this service didn't come with a wash which I was fine with. This was the worst haircut and highlights I've ever had. I was super clear about what I wanted, I asked for only an inch off of the length, some face framing pieces that were chin length and then just a few highlights to lighten up my hair. I was going on a birthday trip that week and also had interviews coming up. I cried when i saw my hair that day. I had to book an appointment last minute with another stylist to hopefully fix what happened. She cut so much off in the front that it looked like a mullet or a bowl cut. The pieces in front were cut so short. This resulted in me having to cut my hair short to fix the choppy pieces. She only put a few highlights on the top and nothing in the back so I had to go over it with box dye and go back to my regular hair color. After I sent her an email with photos of my hair and explaining how I had to get it fixed, She did give me a refund for the Groupon and apologized which I appreciate. I believe she should have paid for me having to go and get it fixed. She was a nice person but I don't understand how a trim and some face framing could get messed up so badly. I truly wish she would have just told me she couldn't do it. I came in with long beautiful hair I'm so disappointed with how my hair looks now. They held it at the front desk. The co-ed are is where the plunge old and hot sauna is located. They have disposable suits if you need it. I wasn't prepared for that part being coed. However I did take advantage of it. Inside the women's lounge I enjoyed the steam and dry sauna. The spa was nice a clean. Silences for relaxing. It wasn't busy and appears to be underutilized.
