I initially found this place on Groupon, actually. I bought a 90 mins treatment voucher. The lady, who scheduled my appointment, was very nice and flexible with my timing. I remember one of the workers called, and my appointment was able to get rescheduled quickly on the same day. When I entered the spa, I was instantly offered warm herbal tea. It was very relaxing overall. After that, I was escorted to the back room for the massage experience. It felt really good with the technician's strong hands working on my scalp! It was the therapy that I needed. To be honest, I didn't fall asleep because I think I was curious on what would occur next. Haha. Whenever there's something to be worked on my head and face and I am required to close my eyes, I would also like to know or to at least feel what would happen to me next. My most favorite part of the experience was the shower moon-shaped device that went up and down across my hair. That felt super amazing. I didn't even complete the booking because there were so many confusing steps in the app, but the availability shown was clearly misleading. It was disappointing and a waste of time driving there only to be turned away. This place was wonderful! It was easy to book a time online that worked well for my schedule . Upon arrival for my appointment, I was given slippers to wear and left my shoes safely by the door on the rack. Next I was served their special Harmony tea and seated at a little table with some assorted chocolates to help myself to. Karen came out to take me back for my treatment, with a restroom stop on the way. Once inside the headspa treatment room, I was taken to our space and shown a cute box to place my items including a jewelry box for my watch. I was left to dress down a bit into a top covering towel wrap and then set up on the table for my treatment, tucked in with a knee rest and soft cozy blankets. The massage was amazing (I did the $90 treatment which does not have the facial). My neck, shoulders, arms, face, head and scalp were all deeply and expertly massaged and it was so relaxing! The hair washing and conditioner treatments were great with good rinse, though the water was colder at times (perhaps because the products warranted different temps for them to do what they do) and I did get a little shampoo on my cheek. I would have loved a lavender scented eye covering for protection from water splashing. After the wash portion, I was wrapped up in a towel, I got dressed and then my hair was blow dried in the salon with some finishing spray. I would say some minor fine tunes for this place would be: to improve the toilet situation- when I sat down it creaked and groaned and I'm a pretty light bird! Perhaps the landlord or shop owner can address this in time, as it was a little disconcerting to feel like the toilet was not secure. The curtains between tables in the headspa area are a bit see through so perhaps doubling up the fabric in the areas where bodies are changing (2-4 feet from the floor). The top of the room also opens to the main salon so I could hear people talking during my treatment and I prefer quiet; perhaps a way to block the noise towards the ceiling where the wall is incomplete would be an option to consider. All in all though, I plan to go back here for more treatments including the headspa offerings! read more

I asked for extra towels for under my neck because I was having neck issues and they rolled up some tiny wash clothes. If you have any neck or back issues, this might not be the place for you. Once we were done they began blow drying our hair and then smiled, said they were done, and walked away. I had discovered them via Groupon. When I redeemed it, the guy asked if I wanted to tip. I said yes and that I have cash in my car. The guy then asked "where did you park?" Which seemed a little tacky in my book. I really wanted to love this place--it's beautiful inside and the staff were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the service fell short. The massage was weak (about 3/10 pressure) and the bed was uncomfortable with no bolster, which left my back sore. There was a lot of waiting between steps, so it didn't feel like a full 60-80 minutes. We were even asked to change back into street clothes while our hair was still wet, which felt rushed. On top of that, the promo we were told about over the phone wasn't honored as expected, which was frustrating. We found out that the opening week BOGO 25% promo only counted if we scheduled another service for a later date. For $90 plus tip (deluxe package) the experience didn't match the price. Yesterday was their grand opening, so I decided to stop by the salon and try their head spa massage. The founder and co-founder greeted me with big, welcoming smiles. They sat me down in a chair, and one of the ladies brought out a cup of hot daisy tea for me to enjoy while they prepared my station. They brought out the menu and I chose $90 package A staff member then came to greet me and led me inside. She started the treatment by having me change into the spa wardrobe and remove my jewelry so she could give me a massage later. The session began with a relaxing head massage, then moved down to my neck, shoulders, and upper back. After that, she washed my hair, shampooed it twice, and rinsed it thoroughly. Next, she used a steamer with grapefruit hair oil spray to treat my hair. While my hair was steaming, she gave me a soothing hand and arm massage. Once the steaming was done, she rinsed my hair again, then brought me out to comb it. She offered to blow-dry my hair with either a straight style or curls. Another staff member brought me a second cup of daisy tea while I waited for my hair to dry. Overall, I had an amazing experience. The salon is spotless, the staff and owners are incredibly friendly, and there's plenty of parking. Just make sure to avoid spots marked "Permit Parking Only" so you don't risk getting towed. Head spas are always constantly booked so having this place just open recently is a huge blessing, like a golden egg in the wild. I'm always sore on my shoulders and neck and I was surprised to have laid down and immediately got a shoulder and neck treatment! This package was the highest one by the way, WELL worth it. The face mask was rejuvenating and they went through what seemed like a few cycles of different applications before the face mask. I like super hot to the touch stones. (I think thats what it was) and they were nice enough to ask if the temperature was okay upon contact. The hair spa treatment was great! I absolutely love the way it feels and having someone come through your hair and massage your head a little bit feels incredible. The person who massaged me asked if I wanted to dry my hair which was lovely to hear. I got a blast of a dyson airblade and left feeling incredible. The place was extremely clean and well organized . I really hate to do this but I don't think I'll come back. I booked two Deluxe packages for Sunday night. I looked online before calling in and saw that they had time available at 6:30p.m. same day and they close at 7. I work in service, and I get it. No one wants to work late and take a last minute client of the day, but if you have that time available and advertising that, you should still honor it. The person at the front desk tried getting us to book at 5:30p.m. instead, stating that 6:30 would be too dark". I'm not sure how daylight affects the service and it was already dark at 3:30p.m. when I called. We agreed to 6 because that was the only time my friend could come in, considering she had to change dinner time for her toddler at home. We got there at 6 and the service started promptly after a sip of the tea they offered. Thuy did a great job with my service. I was super relaxed and fell asleep a few times. When it came time to the blowdry, the lady that was drying my friend's hair stopped after 5 minutes and it was left wet and frizzy. She felt so rushed and it was an unpleasant experience. It was awkward and Thuy ended up stopping a minute later. She probably wanted to follow suit and didn't wanna leave her coworker hanging, like it was normal for our hair to be left like that. Don't think I'll come back. My friend has tried D4 Season up in Shoreline and she said she remembered feeling cleaner than she did at Lumen. Such a shame. read more
