As soon as I entered the store, I noticed a female employee(jordy) eyes glance up really quick from behind the register and her uncomfort gaze followed me and my bf as we browsed at the store items. She went to the back stock room and urgently came out with a male employee. Their eyes followed us closely throughout our visit. At first, I thought it might be standard customer service, but it quickly became clear that there was an odd intensity to their attention. It felt invasive and made me highly self-conscious. What was even more troubling were the subtle, yet unmistakable signs of racial bias that I sensed during my time there. I believe that every customer deserves to feel safe and respected, regardless of their background. Regrettably, I felt judged and unwelcome, which is a sentiment I never expected to encounter in a retail environment. It's disheartening to think that there are still places where certain individuals might be treated differently based on their race. As we approached the counter to pay for our items, I reached for a pill container on displayand the make employee moved a small tip jar away as it was near the pill holder product... weird. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning to this location. I hope the management takes steps to ensure that all customers are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve, regardless of who they are. To be fair, Corporate GNC is at some fault for this return policy and should provide updated company policy training to all stores. It may be helpful to differentiate the "franchise owned" versus "corporate owned" stores and adjust their return policy because it sure isn't universal across the board since these franchise owned stores don't follow policy and apparently can do whatever they want... because verbatim "the store takes a loss for online order returns" -judy.
