They had flavors I didn't even know existed. However, even though there were 10+ flavors I was hunting for Minty Chocolate Crisp and Brownie Batter. I was about to just give up and go home with my Caramel Cashew and Peanut Butter when the staff was like, "We have a shipment that just came in, we can check if those flavors are here". MADE MY DAY! When I was about to pay, the cashier pointed at my peanut butter cookie, and asked if I have tried the newest chocolate flavor. I said no, and he recommended me to give it a try. This 5 star review is for Andy T because he is DA MAN!!! I came here for two main reasons: 1) struggling w battling a really bad illness that I got and trying to recover from, and 2) preparation for egg freezing. Andy is so patient, I came here twice and the first time I took so long it was around closing time and he still helped me out as best as he could. I didn't want to take too much of their time when it was closing time so I decided to just come back another time for the rest of the stuff I was unsure about and thankfully Andy was still there as well. When they say something can make or break your experience or results, I didn't realize how important the representative would be in making or breaking your results and experience and guiding you in the correct direction with a topic as in depth (and possibly confusing when you break it down into the different components of vitamins which then becomes like a million things to consider) as supplementation in all forms. Andy was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, patient, super sweet/nice demeanor, and took initiative in telling me about or showing me products that I would not have found or gotten that would make a big difference with my goals had he not led me to those things and explained them to me. For example, something we typically just think of as "Omega 3 fish oil" is actually two main components which is DHA and EPA. And depending on what bottle or brand you pick, the proportion of DHA and EPA can vary greatly which accomplishes different goals. Because of Andy I was able to get two different products that would help maximize my results and benefits of my A.R.T. goals with eggs that I would have never known to do. You also always hear about the benefits of magnesium and to "just get magnesium", but here at the vitamin shoppe instead of giving you a general magnesium that has unknown amounts of either component in it (and so you technically never knew what kind of mag you were getting!) they actually help separate it for you into mag citrate and mag glycinate, which has really different goals and results and purposes. Magnesium glycinate is used to improve your sleep quality and helps with anxiety and insomnia whereas Magnesium citrate is the stuff they give you that makes you go poo!! (Basically the kind of magnesia they give patients in hospitals to make em GO) big difference huh ? So, Andy, thank you for being such a gem and so kind, helpful, and patient throughout my whole experience and guiding me in the right direction for my particular goals and concerns. I really appreciate it so much and if egg freezing goes well one day I will come back with a mini me and go supplement or baby supplement shopping with mini me too hahaha! Vitamin Shoppe, you rock ! P.S. if you are parking at the curb during the Pay to Park hours (it may be easy to miss because there's only like one meter for a long stretch), just pay the $1 because that parking lady is on it.... I like the Vitamin Shoppe over GNC for the sheer fact that they have more selection and variety on their stock. They also offer better prices and sale/clearance items. This branch in Pasadena is exceptionally big for such a store. I literally spent an hour here just checking out the different supplements, vitamins, and health food items, that I totally lost track of time. They even had items I've never even heard of, that once I got home ended up googling and is now part of my health and well being regimen. I also like the fact that the employees don't hard sell you to buy crap you don't need...in fact, they pretty much let me look around without bothering me which I appreciated. I hate it when salespeople follow me around the store... Parking is primarily on the street, but there's an underground garage in the building you can go to, and they will gladly validate your parking if you shop there. I like coming here when I'm in the area. It's a big, clean, and spacious store with lots of goodies to explore and look at. I always eye the peanut butter (it's in the protein PANTRY now along with the protein pancake mixes! Cool!) and the clearance items....I rarely leave without making my wallet cry.
