Tuesday June 2nd, 2021…read more So the pool has been open since Saturday and we definitely had to come. It's limited in capacity at 40% or 92 people. We had a short wait of 5 minutes before enough people left the pool for us to get in. A wait list is taken when the pool exceeds capacity and you just have to wait until people leave, which typically isn't very long, on a week day anyway. I have to say the water was very chilly. So we also didn't stay longer than 30 minutes. The kiddie pool was not open. It seemed like there was no deep section and you could walk from one end of this Olympic size pool to the other. Don't bother calling ahead. I doubt they'll take a reservation over the phone. When I was there, the teenage staff were not answering. I also saw that folks had left the water running in the showers. Not very considerate given water is a scarce commodity. I'd suggest also reeling in the excess swim lanes which were just sitting on the ground gathering leaves. The price: Free! So you can't beat it. We will be back next week when I hope it's a little warmer.

I didn't think she would have taken me as her client because I was already 39 weeks pregnant at our first meeting. The night I went into labor at 41 weeks, she showed up ready...essential oils and all! She was with my Husband and I for every step of the way (triage to an hour or so after the baby arrived) and she respected/supported EVERY decision my Husband and I made. She never once appeared tired, impatient, or frustrated with the birthing progress. We had a completely natural birth (in a hospital setting) but having Shiphrah and my Husband there made me feel like I was in the comfort of my own home- despite all the unnecessary hospital chaos that was happening around me. I would definitely use her again! I still think about the back rubs, the counter pressure, hugs, breathing techniques, leg rubs, smiles, reassurance, and just calm spirit she maintained to help me through such a painful & beautiful time! Yolanda was (and still is) truly a blessing during my pregnancy and postpartum. I have a good support system around me but I wanted someone with more experience in the field of entering motherhood. My husband and family initially did not see the need for a doula but once they saw her in action and how much knowledge she gave us they quickly changed their minds. You can tell she loves what she does and has a love for her mamas and their families. She will definitely be hired for baby #2 for us. I am truly grateful!

I was court ordered to take anger management classes and contacted them for an evaluation. Prior to the evaluation, I was told that 8 classes was standard depending on the results of the evaluation which was $100 just to take. After the evaluation it was said I needed 8 classes. No surprise because she already told me that. However in my head I'm thinking "well what was the evaluation for if you already knew I was going to take 8 classes?" But 8 classes is what is required to get a completion certificate for court. Then the classes are $25 each. So I have to pay to be on probation, pay for the evaluation, pay for the classes, and all while dealing with unemployment due to Covid 19. If I needed 8 classes to complete probation why the extra money for the evaluation? To me it's just another way for them to get money out of people. It may just be $100 but if you get enough people to pay it, it'll add up quick. I'm just doing the classes to complete probation and not have to deal with Atlanta PD or this bs justice system ever again.

Maybe I was just a tad bit more ready today?!…read moreNot really, I didn't want to leave the wall & would've been content practicing breathing today for my entire lesson. I was urged off the wall a few times by Coach Chris and the woman over the program (I think) & finally let go. Coach Chris is a great coach! He encouraged me & was very patient as I hesitantly followed his direction. I actually did 2 laps w/ the noodle focusing on kicks and breathing! That's the most progress I've had in a swim class in a 30-minute lesson! I guess I should note, this was a private lesson and previously I've taken group lessons. Either way, I gained the most progress and satisfaction from this one class than I have in the 4 group classes I've taken twice. I can't wait to see my progress at the end of the classes. The showers and changing areas are clean and adequate. Everyone from the front desk staff to the other personnel were friendly.
