Super fun restaurant decorated in comic book decor (fun for kids and kids at heart). Staff is super friendly and helpful. Not only did they check in on us to ensure that our experience was fantastic, they also offered us samples of the pork belly (hot off the grill). Everything we had was absolutely delicious (sampled the Mac and cheese, tri tip and hamburgers). Can't wait to return

Just tried the Back Porch for the first time after drooling over their specials posted to Facebook and Salem Eats. We got 2 kids meals, Dino Nuggets and a slider plus awesome batter fries. I had the Fried chicken and a side of Mac and cheese which was delicious. Chicken was smoked beautifully, not dry. The other chicken sandwich was delicious and a slightly more healthy option. No pictures of the food was instantly wolfed down. Inside seating is small but outside space is nice. Be sure to get there early if you want brisket.

Back porch burger with hefty side of the best Mac. Not gonna lie everything was well seasoned. One of the best hole in the wall places. Burger had a Hawaiian marinated that was different and Mac and cheese was flames. Cool outdoor seating. Get the Mac add pork belly

Right off the bat good service. The guys there love what they do and it shows. Food was great, wife and I filled our bellies on their patio. Would definitely recommend!

A small but very cozy restaurant, the staff was super kind and the food was delicious, some of the best food I've had in Salem! The mac and cheese is super creamy and the fries are perfect, the bbq is tasty as well. I don't have anything negative to say and will be coming back, it was a nice experience to dine in.

Back Porch Burger and Mac and Cheese with burnt ends

The ambiance was nice and homey, the owners/staff were very nice and welcoming to us as first time customers. The meats are smoked in the back yard making the burnt ends and burger taste unique and delicious and fresh . It's a hidden gem in Salem! Definitely worth a visit.

DAYUM!! Great service, flavorful and moist BBQ, and REAL queso. Also best beer battered fries.

Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

The inside atmosphere is sports bar fabulous plenty of seating for groups or couples. We shared a juicy hazy IPA and an order of scotch eggs while sitting on the patio, which is shaded and comfortable with both picnic tables and bar-top seating. I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!

Definitely a diner vibe from yesteryear, with the smell of burgers and fries. I had the bacon cheeseburger, wife had cheeseburger and we shared a small fry. All said, about $30 with drinks. Burgers were hot, fresh, and juicy. Just the right amount. Too much grease and it gets disgusting for me. These burgers were great though. As mentioned from previous reviewers, fries are natural, so they come out a little soggy. The fry sauce is delicious.

House made of course so it's even better than the store bought stuff in my opinion because it tastes like actual chocolate. I ordered the filet minion chicken fried steak and it was cooked to perfection. So juicy inside and crispy but not like overly cooked crispy on the outside! Topped with a hot gooey layer of house made sausage gravy. The overall size of this steak was about as big as my face. To complement this enormous steak was eggs, a biscuit & some smashed Yukon potatoes..like they were literally small potatoes they just smashed which was really different to me because I've never seen that before. I also had to order the infamous cinnamon roll pancake I been seeing floating around on other people's reviews. IT IS A MUST.. and if you are ordering it to take home make sure you have a piece of it while it's still hot and fresh because that was to die for. I won't go more into detail about it you just have to try it. It will speak for its self. Overall the dinning experience was great! Servers were more than happy to get you whatever you need. We sat at the bar so y'all should try their drinks because they looked so good and the bartenders looked like they were having fun making them. The restaurant is a literal house and while charming it is small and packed inside and the parking lot is also really small so you may need to get there early or expect to park somewhere else in the streets. We got there an hour after they opened and it was only a 30 minute wait thankfully. Will be coming back again to try other menu items!

I also had warm rye bread. Not toasted. We were half done with our breakfast, and was given the bill, and boxes to go. Very rushed, crowded, and expensive. $58 for sub-par breakfast for 2. I tried this at The Yard…read more It was....alright. Kind of expensive, but not overly bad for a food truck collective. I ordered an El Dorado, with barbecue sauce, onion rings, bacon, and cheese (tomato, lettuce, and onion are listed on the board. I declined lettuce and tomato but didn't receive any raw or grilled onions, just an onion ring. That was fine. However, the menu said onion rings and onions.) I chose the tater tots to go with it. I also ordered a side of mozzarella sticks. Not overly long to receive. The food was hot and clearly prepared fresh. However, I have a hard time not saying that literally everything I ate started off frozen. Consider the hockey puck, perfectly formed, crisp edged hamburger patty. Honestly, it didn't really taste like anything. Just...chew. Frankly, it made me think of frozen Bubba Burgers. Maybe the Angus one, to be fair, but it still didn't really taste like anything. Complete lack of seasoning, except maybe some sprinkled on, which is usually indicative of a frozen hamburger puck. The bacon and cheese were okay. Barbecue sauce was non-descript. Tots were...potatoes. Again, I felt like they came out of a generic food supplier bag. And the picture on the menu versus the actual mozzarella sticks? Yeah. Not the same. I recognized them from my drinking days the moment they came out. The exact same frozen mozzarella sticks that they serve at most bars. Big, thick, breading comes off the cheese pretty easily as they cool down, big hunk of solid cheese that starts off stretchy and turns into a solid block when cold. My 12 year old son and I didn't finish them, and both me and that kid love fried cheese. Look, it wasn't horrible. But I didn't finish it. And wasn't sad about it. And it cost an awful lot for that, all things considered. If you're at the Yard and just want basic American style diner food, go for it. You'll get what you ask for. But I don't see any reason to go there. Honestly, I have a better burger from Wendy's. :/
