I recently visited this local shop with my boyfriend around Campus Corner. I have to say, the cookies were delicious, the ice cream was divine, but the service was so-so. The store is relatively small so customers like myself were lined way outside. We waited for a good 10 minutes before it was our turn to be served. One of the girls who worked there seemed to be lost in her own world. I had to ask several times for a peanut butter cookie. As the line moved on and we waited for the sandwich to be hot pressed, the same girl blankly stared at the oven as it went off causing another co-worker to shout at her to remove the brownies from said oven. I'm not sure if she was having a rough day or what, but her mannerism was quite sloppy. Other than the service and tight space, the dessert was awesome! My boyfriend had ordered the "cookie of the month" which was Mexican Hot Chocolate. Totally made from scratch and just de-lish-us! Will definitely be back. read more

Service was great. However, the product? Not so much. The cookies were basically pre packed cookie dough baked in the oven. And the ice cream was like Walmart generic ice cream! For the grand opening they served free ice cream sandwiches to everyone who waited in line until 2 pm and i little after and while everyone waited they had employees serving samples of cookies for everyone to try! I really enjoyed a brownie sandwich with cookies n cream ice cream and the cookies n cream cookies are amazing. If you grab a box of cookies to go they stay fresh and soft even after a day or two. I have been several times and when I didn't feel like getting something so filling I opted for a old fashioned root beer float. Another awesome option is the donut sandwiches, they drizzle blue icing on top and it looks so good! The cookies are baked fresh all day long and are original recipes. I saw another review that mentioned the ice cream is homemade, but I was told it was original recipes as well, I don't think they claimed to be homemade, but the cookies are homemade! You can't go wrong with the options at The Baked Bear. My mom and I will get coffee or salted caramel ice cream pints to go to take home for when we want to stay in and enjoy the Baked Bear from home. The Baked Bear is A-OK. Went on a Sat evening around 8pm; there was a line, but as others have stated, it moves fast. Ordered a combo (brownie bottom, peanut butter cookie top, and cookies-n-cream ice cream in the middle (hot pressed)) - Each ingredient of the extreme sugar-overload dessert was good, and the combination was yummy - No complaints on taste. But I don't get the fanaticism .. The Baked Bear makes ice cream sandwiches - Sure, you have the choice of creating your sandwich out of a brownie, cookie, doughnut, or any combination of the 3 - And sure, you have the option of drizzling melted Nutella on top - And sure, it tastes good, but it's not anything new and it's not so "wow" that I'd stand in line again and ingest my daily caloric intake with one dish. It just feels a bit gimmicky (I wonder if this was how people reacted when the Marble Slab first opened...). I love the menu options and their social media presence is amazing. Each treat looks like a little work of art. My ice cream was pretty good but the cookie was average. The girl that was working was not very knowledgeable of the product. We asked if the ice cream in one item had coconut because my friend has a severe allergy to it and she just said "I don't know" she didn't offer to find out, potentially losing a sale. Finally my friend just looked at her and asked well could you please find out. She looked annoyed, but we are glad she looked it up bc a certain product did have it and it could have put him in the hospital. Luckily there were other options. OK if you're looking for a good cheap tasty treat, this is a great place for that. But people need to really chill out on how awesome they think this places is. Whenever you go here the line is super long and they take forever to get customers served. I went in to surprise my kids with ice cream told the girl making my order that I was getting 3 TO GO. She made the items and then at the checkout I asked for to-go containers and the three employees looked around at each other confused and said we don't have to go containers. I asked if they had any Saran Wrap, a bag, anything and the girls stared at me with blank look on her face and said "uhhhh, I don't know" She didn't go look for anything, she didn't even try. I almost said never mind and walked out but opted for juggling melting ice cream that I spent an afternoon the shampooing out of my car. The first time I went in shortly after they opened they had to go containers So either their customer service has gone down hill really quickly or they need better training. Being lactose intolerant, I was excited to find out they had soy ice cream (but only one flavor) as an option. I got the m&m cookie sandwich with the chocolate chip soy ice cream and mini m&m's, hot pressed. I knew the cookie wouldn't stay hot due to the ice cream, but my experience with soy ice cream is that it takes a while for it to soften so I figured the heat would help. Unfortunately, my ice cream had a very weak flavor and overall wasn't very good. I can deal with uncreamy ice cream but taste is a different issue. I wasn't a huge fan of my dessert, but it was okay. My fiance got the brownie bear bowl with rocky road. The brownie stayed warm and was both the brownie & the ice cream were delicious. We did wait in line as it was a Friday night, but it seems like the line would move faster if there was more than one register. Price-wise, both of our desserts were around $10 which is definitely reasonable considering the quantity you get. read more
