The cookies are pretty tasty!!! Soft, chewy, full of flavor. The ice cream was very disappointing. I got a cookie sandwich to go and ended up scraping the ice cream off and eating just the cookies. The ice cream has a weird gummy texture to it. Almost seemed like it was freezer burnt. By looking at the size of the tubs in the freezer I highly doubt they go through enough ice cream for that large of a tub. So I'm betting that the ice cream isn't rotated out hardly at all, so it's not as fresh. Giving it an old taste. Customer service was really great though! read more

Delicious! Ice cream sandwiches galore! I got a bowl with chocolate chip cookie and salted caramel fudge ice cream. The cookie was warm and melty and the ice cream had chunks of fudge. The only negatives were the poor layout combined with being crowded made it annoying to pay. It was a holiday afternoon/early evening, so lots of children running around. Few places to sit. Had a campus tour of OU. Came all the way from DFW area in Texas and was looking to find somewhere my parents could enjoy and that I(a vegan) could also enjoy. My parents had a bag full of their cookies and enjoyed them. I of course was excited to see they had a vegan ice cream sandwich available. Although it was just one flavor of cookie and one of ice cream, I was pleased to see the one option. I hadn't been able to find vegan cookies anywhere since I had became vegan, and this sandwich was SOOOO GOOD! Tasted just as delicious as any normal cookie or ice cream. If you're vegan, definitely be sure to stop by and try the vegan AND gluten free ice cream sandwich! I recommend anyone who isn't vegan to also give this a try. I've died and gone to desert heaven!!!!! Let me start by saying I've been hearing about Baked Bear for a long time now as I am originally from California and they have locations there as well. We have since relocated and we were in Norman for the OU/UCLA game and the people sitting in front of us came back to their seats after halftime with BAKED BEAR!!!!! I jumped on Yelp to see if they had a location around and sure enough! Right around the corner from the football stadium. You bet my husband and I marched straight over there! It was EVERYTHING I'd dreamed and more. I got the "bear bowl" which is a brownie topped with espresso ice cream. The brownie was really the best brownie I've ever had. Honestly! Perfect consistency, a little crusty on the edges and soft on the inside. The ice cream was also excellent. The range of options for both cookie, toppings, just options in general are plenty. Baked Bear is known for being an ice cream shop & don't get me wrong, every ice cream flavor we have tried has been delicious..... but don't sleep on the cookies! They're the real standout, in my opinion. The perfectly cooked, super soft, unique flavors (hello, cookies & cream!) could easily stand up against the most well known bakeries. They offer 5-6 regular flavors & a fun "Flavor of the Month". A dozen is only $10 & they almost always have pre-boxed leftovers from the day before available for half price. I should also add that in all of our interactions, the employees have been incredibly friendly and patient. From apologizing for the wait if there's even one customer ahead of us to patiently explaining (and re-explaining) options to our younger kids. They are also great about double checking with me if one of the kids starts ordering something outrageous and make a point to remind customers about their punch cards at checkout (even if you forget to bring it, they'll start a new one and allow you to combine them later). Their sweets were really great, but the customer service is what prompted me to write a review. We waited in line with our young kids and to be honest, the choices were pretty overwhelming, so I'd imagine for a seven year old that feeling was amplified. When we got to the cash register to check out, my son had decided that he didn't mean to order the cookie that he did and he was upset about it. The woman working the register overheard and told me she would gladly change out the cookie for the one he wanted and she did. She also was very accommodating with our order and was happy to put some to go ice cream sandwiches in the freezer for us so we could grab them on our way out. On our way out, we stopped by the restroom where my four year old stated, "this is the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen!" Worth the wait! Delicious but so sweet. When we were there they had run out of a couple popular flavors but that is to be expected. The employees seemed a bit cramped behind the counter and takes one persons order at a time. It allows for personalization but some sort of an assembly line may be more effective. It's rare that when you go somewhere, the food looks exactly like the ad photos but this place delivers. It totally lives up to the hype. Despite the line, the staff was friendly and patient and took time to explain options and even flavor choices for our littles that couldn't read.
