It's a rough week. I tell my husband I would appreciate a surprise sometime as a pick me up. He does some searching and finds this amazing gem. He tells me we're going to McDonald's. I get 'somewhat' excited for a McFlurry. We drive past McDonald's. He has duped me. We pull up to The Baked Bear, a place I've never been. How cool of a name is that? And they have outdoor seating? Count me excited. We enter, and the place is chilly (expectedly). They have a million flavors in ice creams and cookies. Your brain whizzes through so many combinations. I settle on their cookie of the month (or week, I forget), which is a chocolate cookie with a Mexican cinnamon twist on it if I remember correctly, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. My husband picks a snickerdoodle cookie with a pretzel toffee-type ice cream. We get so excited to pay and eat these outside in the cool evening weather. We sit down at their blue tables, wondering if they get wiped down occasionally (answer is yes, they do). We bite into our rather big ice cream sandwiches, and it's heaven. It is so fun to catch up on our days and enjoy such a delicious treat in a new place as my pick-me-up surprise. Would highly recommend to anyone having a bad or a good week. After eating next door, decided to try. When you walk in you see the selection of cookies to make your sandwich. They look good! We went around to ice cream. Husband picked Red velvet cookies with salted caramel in middle. I passed due to limited flavors of ice cream. I only like in a cup but didn't have a flavor I liked. Oh the patience of the girls working on the day we visited The Baked Bear for the very first time ever. Such a great place to snag a birthday treat!!! What's better than fresh-from-the-oven, ooeygooey cookies? Homemade ice cream sandwiched between two of them!! It took us forever to pick out two cookies and one flavor of ice cream. Soooo many wonderful choices!!! We could've easily split one of the large ice cream sandwiches but we didn't. We each devoured one of our own. Thankfully there's more than one location. I did a call in order here right in the beginning of Covid. It was such a breeze calling in the order and paying over the phone. I was able to swing by and the girl working walked right out with a chocolate chip cookie and root beer float! Both were delicious! The float was presented by just two scoops of ice cream and a side of root beer that wasn't anything over the top next time I'd actually prefer getting ice cream separately since the ice cream was delicious. The cookie was good not too dry or not too buttery but i did notice a peanut butter taste to it and it was chocolate chip! The Baked Bear made a great choice when it picked Yukon as the next city to open up their 2nd franchise in Oklahoma. It is located in a newly constructed plaza not far from Yukon High School. Given the presence of Freddy's, Dairy Queen, and Braum's already, having the Baked Bear where they are pretty much gives you immediate access to ice cream in any part of Yukon. What distinguishes the Baked Bear from the others is that they provide ice cream sandwiches. And no, not those ice cream sandwiches that you buy in a package and pull out of your freezer. The ice cream here is sandwiched with cookies, brownies or donuts, mixed and matched to your liking. If that's not enough options for ya, fret not - you then have the choice between a dozen types of cookies, a dozen flavors of ice cream and lastly between a dozen toppings(which are 50 cents each). At the end of the assembly line, you can get your sandwich "hot pressed" where the cookie and/or brownie is warmed up without melting the ice cream. The end result is delightful - if you've ever enjoyed warm cookies with a glass of milk there's a good chance you'll like the Baked Bear. Love that they are open until late night. There was a decent sized line that went outdoord especially during the pandemic. I went at 7pm on a Wednesday and waited in line for 15 minutes before placing my order. When it was my turn to order at the cashier, I found out that they had ran out of all vegan friendly options. I did end up getting a customized cookie ice cream sandwich made of a red velvet and white chocolate macadamia cookies with black berry brittle. Tastes great but the large portion calls for needing to share with someone. read more

Stopped by this AMAZING ice cream and cookie shop for dessert. This our family's new favorite dessert shop! They specialize in creating ice cream sandwiches with fresh made cookies and then using a special waffle iron type machine to hot press them. Somehow it doesn't melt the ice cream but makes the cookies warm like they just came out of the oven. YUM. They have ample inside seating as well as several tables on an outside patio. The cookie options are fantastic, more than just your average chocolate chip. The gooey butter cake cookie was heaven. I love that you can choose 2 different cookies for your ice cream sandwich! You can also just buy cookies or ice cream separately, but why would you! ;) Thank goodness this place is a 20 minutes from my house because I would go waaaay to often if it was any closer! read more

Yum. Yum. Yum. We first visited Baked Bear on a cold February evening. Strange choice for ice cream but the tastiness made it all make sense. The employees are friendly and helpful answering questions and patient with my kids expressing they want every topping on 3 flavors of ice cream with 6 cookies and a brownie. We have been a couple of times now we each family member has our favorite. I love the snickerdoodle cookie with mint chip and a brownie. The ice cream is very good and the cookie is crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. My husband gets the gooey cake cookies with the beary ice cream (or something like that.) It is an amazing combo that the employee suggested on our first visit. My kids get weird combos that involve gummy bears & sprinkles usually. They always enjoy it. The stamp card is great. Today I had the gooey butter cookie sandwich with dark chocolate ice cream, hot pressed, and I didn't need toppings. The dark chocolate ice cream is the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had--so lush and chocolatey. I had never had the gooey butter cookie before, but there's a reason why I also witnessed three other people order the same type! It's unreal how light that thing is. It's almost dangerous. Don't worry about how the cookies are sitting out behind the counter, because each type will have a tender center. When the weather is nice outside, it's still worth it to sit inside so you can smell a fresh batch of cookies come out of the oven. I'm actually stoked about finding this place via door dash, because typically I wouldn't be out in Yukon checking out the bake scene.
