The Baked Bear changed the world's outlook on Polar Bears. They have signage, a mascot, and even the title of their establishment is all positive for polar bears. The Baked Bear is very clearly pro polar bear. This is in stark contrast to that of other ice cream establishments that have nothing stating their feelings on polar bears...Are these other establishments anti polar bear? It isn't for me to say, but it does begin to paint a picture when only the Baked Bear does its part and cares this much. The entire premise of The BB (awesome name for the Baked Bear right?) is to create the craziest ice cream sandwich of all time. With this idea in mind the game rules were set. My wife and I came to BB with our friends...let's call her "Toe Freckle" and him "Old Timer"....You know what? This seems like a great time to give my wife and I nicknames as well... Okay let's call my wife "The Queen" and I shall be "Grandmaster Funk"...or maybe I should just stick with "I." Now that we know the players of the game let's get down to it. Toe Freckle stepped up and ordered top and bottom brownies for her "buns", followed by caramel fudge ice cream, she had all of that rolled in nuts and covered in hot fudge. You don't typically see the first order set the bar so high, but Toe Freckle was no rookie. Next The Queen ordered a sandwich involving two cookies and cream cookies for the top and bottom of the sandwich with, you guessed it, cookie dough ice cream, all rolled in Oreos with a topping of whipped cream. This cookie overload sandwich impressed the judges so much that we all thought the competition might be over. The Old Timer knew he had to bring it...after all this could be his final competition before he finally retires. He decided to go for a sandwich involving bottom "bun" as a brownie, top "bun" as a red velvet cookie, strawberry cheesecake ice cream middle, all rolled in Oreos. You could tell his decades of experience really came into play here. He would have won too, if it weren't for GRANDMASTER FUNK...err no I mean "I". I knew I had only one possible order that could give me a clean win. I went with a sandwich with the following blueprint: Bottom cookie a Funfetti, top cookie Funfetti, Birthday cake ice cream, all rolled in honor and integrity. Needless to say I lost terribly in the standings...but I won in my heart. The sandwich I made was quickly dispatched and I have never felt more alive. The cookies so perfectly cradling the ice cream as I take bite after bite of better and better ice cream. I am not saying anyone should strive to live on frozen treats... But BB makes me want to try. We had the Mexican hot chocolate cookies top and bottom layer with Caramel apple pie ice-cream and Nutella, the next one was cookies and cream top and bottom crust with cookie dough ice cream and brownie bits. Lastly I got m& m cookies with vanilla ice cream and m&m topping. All of it was good. It was made exactly how a ice cream sandwich should be made. I honestly would be fibbing if I told you that this wasn't the best ice cream sandwich I've ever had. It was delicious! Also the wait staff was full of smiles and friendly. They gave great service. I really love this place. It has really good homemade tasting s. The outside of the building is very clean as well as the inside. I walked in and everyone greeted me. I ordered a red velvet sandwich with birthday cakes ice cream. The red velvet cookie has a deep red color drizzled with white glazed on top. The cookie had a delicious chocolate taste. The birthday cake ice cream is very creamy with plenty of sprinkles throughout. I can't say that it reminds me of cake, but it does have almond flavoring in it like cake. One mistake I made was not having my sandwich warmed so the cookie could be easily scoop in each bite along with the ice cream. The dining area and service station are clean with a brand new feel. Most items are in the $5 range but are definitely worth the price!
