One of the best spots in downtown NB. All baked goods are baked in-house and the quality of each is amazing! You can even order a loaf of sourdough bread to bring home. Ordered 2 asiago bagels egg sandwiches with linguica, avocado, and cheese; looking to forward to the next visit. Picked up their weekend drop, the strawberry crunch donut -- it was fluffy and extremely delicious.

On vacation found this little spot steps away from where I was staying. After I dodged the seagulls, I stepped inside and saw that it was a quaint bakery with ample seating, and an open view kitchen. It was quite busy as people were coming in and out frequently getting their takeout. Apparently you can get breakfast sandwiches here as well, not just pastries or danishes. Staff was helpful and sweet. I had a coffee and cinnamon roll (which I haven't had in a while. The cinnamon roll was fresh. Actually still on the baking tray when I ordered. All in all great place to stop in. Some goodies but oldies playing on the radio as well. Nice morning atmosphere.

Love this place! I just had the linguica cheese bread and it was great. Now I am enjoying my large latte that has four shots of espresso in it! Everything looks delicious and the service and atmosphere are really nice.

I was in the area for work and wanted to try a local cafe since I'm rarely here. So glad I chose this spot! First off, the customer service is incredible. They only have an employee restroom, but the team was kind enough to let me use it. As for the food, while the bread and croissants looked amazing, I only ordered a matcha latte. It was good but a bit too sweet for my liking--I just assumed it would be sugar-free. If I ever return, I would love to try their pastries as I noticed that is what most people were ordering. Lastly, the cafe has a decent amount of seating if you're looking to hang out while having breakfast.

The baker is the best breakfast spot around. The donuts never fail to amaze me. Their breakfast sandwich (on cheddar scallion biscuit) is mouthwatering. Their lattes are heat and their cookies are next level. Their staff is wonderful and I love that they have online ordering. I could eat here daily---it is that good.

Delicious! So so so good! Quick service! Staff was friendly, place was clean, and was not messy! The English muffin was so good and I slurped down that drink so fast was so good. I wish I had got the sourdough everyone was getting it and gave it rave reviews!

This was a cute little bakery that appeared extremely popular. There is a small seating area in the front of the cafe (relatively limited seating), and the majority of the space is comprised of the kitchen and prep area. We were greeted by a friendly cashier who took our order. The cafe has a selection of coffee and tea, as well as breakfast sandwiches and pastries. I got a chai tea latte, which was delicious with a great blend of spices. I also got an egg and sausage sandwich. Everything was prepared fresh and served hot. We took our order to go, and greatly enjoyed it. I'd definitely return.

The man greeting everyone at the door puts a smile on your face no matter how early. They have unique drinks such as a Taro Lavender Latte. We got a cruffin, chocolate croissant, and a biscuit. Everything was delicious and fresh!!

This place feels like it belongs in an upscale New York City neighborhood or something and yet we're lucky enough to have it in New Bedford. It's a deeply impressive establishment with a delicious and varied selection of baked goods.

This place consistently makes the best sandwiches and pastries. You can tell there is so much thought and care into something so simple. Great bustling team and music. 10/10

An absolute gem in the city. Can't miss with anything you choose there. Linguisa rolls are the best in the city.

The Painkiller is fantastic, especially if you add caramel. The Epic Vanilla Skooma is dangerously addictive - the flavor profile is incredible, and honestly nobody else in the area comes close. The Buzz is another excellent choice. The food is just as impressive. Their linguica and cheese rolls are leagues above the competition, and I'd put them alongside the very best around. I highly recommend ordering a regular cheese roll leveled up with egg, bacon, and their house-made hot sauce. If you enjoy a Portuguese style hot sauce, this combination is absolutely worth trying - you will not be disappointed. The peanut butter cookie is unreal; I genuinely wish I had the recipe. The baked goods are consistently excellent, and whenever they have a special, just order it. I've rarely been disappointed by anything they've made. I used to live nearby and honestly miss having this place around. Their pizzas deserve recognition too. They're some of my favorite bar style pizzas in the area. If you prefer an ultra thin pizza, you might lean toward Dipper Cafe, but it's hard to beat The Meatball Thing, the Thanksgiving pizza during the holidays, and many of their other specialty pies. The atmosphere adds even more to the experience. They have arcade style games you can play while you wait, and the music is always great. If you're into King Diamond or heavier music, you'll probably hear something you love. If you live nearby or are just passing through the area, don't skip The Nook. For me - and for everyone I've recommended it to - The Nook easily earns the title of best coffee shop in the area.

-ONE PARAGRAPH REVIEW-…read more The Nook has great coffee. The Nook has great food- not entrés but café stuff: sandwich rolls, focaccias, muffins, etc. The Nook has old school, retro vibes. It has rock music vibes. It has creative, inspirational vibes. It has quiet, read-a-book-in-the-nook vibes but also loud Donkey Kong-guitar riff-crunchin' vibes; depending on the time and the day. It's perhaps a tad too small inside, but that's what makes it a nook. Lots of hot and iced coffee options, food is quality over quantity: get their signature cheese or linguica roll as-is or "leveled up" to make it an egg sandwich because it's the best around. And their focaccias are made like a pizza and imo are better than their actual pizza! Ok that's a paragraph!

My only suggestion would be to serve it with a spoon so you can mix the cider into the Prosecco a little more. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Mozambique and it was really good. The flavors were amazing, although I do wish there was a little more sauce. My friend got the chouriço and cheese roll, split and toasted on the grill, and it looked just as good. We also grabbed two coffees to go and tried the pumpkin fluff special. Both coffees were delicious and honestly didn't even need any added sweetener. The restaurant itself is really cute and has a cozy feel. Parking isn't the easiest, so just be prepared for that. The bathrooms were okay, but I'd give them about a 3/5. Our waitress was very attentive in the beginning, and I think she could tell we were there to catch up and weren't in any rush, which I appreciated. There's also some outdoor seating, which looked really cute on the cobblestone street. It was wet and a little too early for us to sit outside, but I could definitely see myself enjoying it another time. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Tia Mariah and will be back to try more of the menu!
