Great find -not far off the highway. Good food and great atmosphere. Service was top notch.

Upon walking into the Village Cafe, we were greeted right away and seated with hardly any wait. I ordered the avocado toast (pictured), while my fiancé went with the sweet bread French toast, and we both enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee. Our waitress, Mackenzie, was wonderful--attentive, friendly, and made sure our orders were correct and that we had everything we needed. I highly recommend trying the avocado toast. It was excellent--nicely crisp and flavorful, not soggy like I've had at other places. The French toast was also delicious and beautifully prepared. Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere made for a really enjoyable experience. I'd definitely recommend the Village Cafe and look forward to going back. read more

i loved it here! it was super full but the service was still great and our waitress was super patient and friendly. i really enjoyed my omelette, it was filled! the french toast was pretty good too but i really liked their grilled blueberry muffin. definitely would recommend trying - the specials seemed great - and will have to come back to this cute little place soon! read more

OMG, this place is an icebox...everyone eating is wearing their jackets!!! Came in for breakfast, by the time I ate my eggs the French Toast was cold...let me put it this way, the butter is already on the table and it would not spread, almost FROZEN! I don't recommend coming here as my party of 3 was waiting behind a party of 2, the only two tables were a booth and a table with 2 seats. Just had a fantastic breakfast here. My husband and I both got eggs Benedict over the cheese rolls. He got the Irish corned beef and I had the Portuguese chorizo. It was the best Benedict we've ever had. The service was great and attentive. My husbands coffee cup was constantly being filled and the home fries were Spivey and cooked perfectly. Their homefries are a little bland, the shredded potatoes are very salty, their eggs Benedict is average and their breakfast sandwiches are average. I don't get why this place has high ratings. Must be from regular customers. I've been here at least three times and every time I say it's my last. The fact you can always go and get a table is a plus, but that's it. The food is served cold, the pancakes are lacking flavor. The coffee is usually burnt. The worst. My husband and I went here a few weeks ago and the food and service was great(although the waitress sat and starred at us to order ).So we decided to bring my Mother-in-Law there today. The waitress sat us next to the kitchen door and took our coffee order. As she walked by me to the kitchen she bumped into my chair and didn't even apologize. So we asked to move to one of the many open clean tables, so she walked by with the coffee and put it on another table and said "there". Now we ordered decaf and reg coffee but she put them on an empty table before we even got there. We waited for her to come back for at least 10 mins to figure out the coffees and get menus. Coffee was bad by now. My husband was tying to get her attention, it was not busy, she quickly snapped at him before he even finished his question. The cafe was not close to closing or even busy. We said we were leaving she said rudely "Fine!" I don't know if she thought we were some one else or having a bad day, but we will never go back again. We thought we found our new "spot". This is my second time coming here I was really curious to see what was here for a while so I finally got a chance with my friend like 2 weeks ago the place is beautiful definitely during the holiday season we have the coffee tastes delicious the food was good waitress was very friendly then second week that I went with another friend on Monday food was excellent I can't complain anything else although I wish the homefires was a little bit more crispier and I'm not a big fan of Canadian bacon now lol read more

I love how they have so many different options; their veggie benny is my personal fave. Always good specials up on the board and the service never disappoints. I am banned from this place because I ordered a 1 slice of toast, egg and a coffee. Service was awful. The waitress or owner actually put her nose about 1 inch away from my nose. I've been here about 5 times in the last 120 days because they have decent food. But the service is horrendous. The only way you can get a waitress to come serve you is if you ask for one or you are a regular. It is disgusting how they walk right by you because you aren't Rick and Bob that goes every day. This place used to be decent, the last few times I've gone I noticed the bacon had a really rank taste and was SO greasy. My husband sent his back because it was inedible, the sausage was just as terrible. My food came out with a huge hair on it, and the replacement they brought out was cold and came way too quickly, I'm pretty sure they just picked the hair off and brought it back out. Worth the wait. Waitress was extremely nice and helpful. I am very picky about French toast but she suggested the sweetbread with the guarantee of something else if I didn't like it. Came here on a busy Sunday morning and there was misunderstanding between two customers and the person I was with. After getting seated, my waitress proceeded to talk about my friend and I and she was just a few seats down. She talked about us for the duration of our visit and I was shocked at how unprofessional she was. For sure never coming back here again. read more

I Love Village Cafe. We have been going here for breakfasts since they were located on Bridge street and the staff has been the same for 10 years or more. Pancakes are superb, great creative omelette selections, usually 6 or 8 muffin flavor offered daily. One of the few true bargains left in town. You can get a full breakfast, coffee, tax and tip for well under $10. Try doing that at IHOP! read more

Giving this place a zero. This past Sunday morning, I was in line waiting for a table. A couple got up from the bar area and left. A VERY rude couple from the back of the line came running up and sat down before the next people in line could take the seats. Again, very rude. A woman standing a few people in front of me went up to the rude couple and told them they cut the line in front of all other customers and the two girls waiting were going to take the seats. They grumbled and moved. I watched as the girls sat and a waitress that apparently knew this couple seated them a few seats down. Again seats for the next people in line. The rude couple complained about the girls in their other seats and the waitress out loud said..." I'm sorry you experienced this, but they are young and rude" ..I almost said something. The waitress and the couple continued to talk trash about the girls letting them hear. This waitress deserves to be fired and is very unprofessional. She knew absolutely nothing about the circumstances, and talked about customers!!!! Fire her and for once in your lives, get some experienced professional people in your corner.
