1 star for 'dinner' (breakfast / brunch is fantastic). I thought we were walking into something 'like' a high-end California style cuisine, with lots of fresh herbs and depth of flavor. That's NOT what this is. It's an experiment in intense flavor via heavy notes of sour, salt, and acid with not much else going on. It reminded me of La Catina downtown (now Crown Cantina). If you're into that 'sour oriented' flavor profile you might enjoy... but not for me. That being said, our waitress was fantastic, and their fresh made bread is amazing. Go for breakfast. read more

Tried this place out over the week-end during book club. I ordered Avocado Toast and I feel fairly certain that I'm the one of a few people on the planet who hadn't tried it before. The sourdough bread was wonderful, but was a little too thickly sliced for my taste. It was listed as coming with roasted beets (which I love) so I was disappointed to see a pickled carrot slice with my dish with very little beet. The egg was cooked perfectly. Others near me got biscuits that looked great and flaky. They tasted good too. We were at a fairly large table that sat about a dozen people. I would have liked to see hooks under the table for purses. My purse seemed to slide off the back of my seat. It sounds dismal, but there are still other dishes I'd like to try, the service staff was quick, accurate and friendly and the owner came over more than once to check on things. I love this place. The service was friendly and appropriately attentive. Food was excellent, from the warmed olives and sour dough, the perfectly seasoned and sauced pasta and the entree which I had the very tender and delicious pork. One of my new favorite spots! I've heard such great things about this place and had to try it. I went there with my sister and everything was delicious, right down to the coffee! We ate at 10 am on a Thursday (#maternityleave) and it was nice and quiet. There were people at a couple tables, but it was nice and open and we were seated immediately. We each had grapefruit juice mimosas and split both of the breakfast starters (ricotta doughnuts and aioli potatoes). The doughnuts were warm and airy. I could have eaten 20. The potatoes were perfectly fried and the aioli's seasoning was spot on. We then split the avocado toast, which came with a side salad of mixed greens. You can tell the sourdough is baked in-house. It was fluffy and fresh. Just a really nice dish. We split the bill down the middle and it ended up at $25 each. Not bad for quality freshly made delicious food! Words are hard because there aren't enough good things to say about this place. 10/10 1000% will go back. I had only been to brunch in the past. Tonight we did the 3 course option and we got different things so I tried 6 menu items and nothing was less than perfection. Next time we'll have to do 2 courses so we can fit dessert in our bellies. We went to dinner here with friends last night. It was the first evening of them trying the patio with outdoor seating due to Covid. It was so cute and very pleasant, we brought blankets for our laps and were comfortable the entire evening. We all ordered the tasting menu and it was absolutely delicious. We received the perfect portion sizes and had room for the ricotta doughnuts for a dessert. It was a wonderful experience and highly recommend, even in there outdoor patio! Great addition to Newport. Great atmosphere and upgraded nicely to a cozy and a little more upscale venue from the more casual Packhouse that did the original renovation on the building. Small but good wine selection. We started with the marinated castelvetrano olives. These were great flavored and almost meaty olives. Excellent. We were going to share a garden salad and they split it for us which is always nice and that was light and fresh and perfect between the appetizer and main course. On to the main courses. I had the cacio e pepe. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Flavored great an excellent dish. I'm used to this having a little more pepper on it and was hoping to get some ground pepper but the staff wasn't around after the food arrived so dig in without it. So three for three here. The other dish was the butternut squash gnocchi. Again pasta cooked perfectly. Great flavors but there was somewhat of a sweet vinegar taste in the oil at the bottom with a fair amount of diced onions. Not sure if it was from the onions. If not for that this would've been a hit as well. Overall a great addition to the area and will definitely be back. read more

The table is crowded, especially for sitting with people you don't know. Food: 3 stars. Would have been tasty had it not been cold. Honey's goetta wasn't properly cooked. The potatoes were delicious and the reason it gets 3 stars here. Service: 2 stars. Server was not even remotely friendly. Price: 2 stars. Was overpriced for what you get. Overall: 2 stars. I convinced my family to go here for Father's Day after some Yelp scouting. I'm the only non-local in the bunch and no one else had been here yet. When we first arrived, there was a pretty good crowd stacked up and it was already nearing close for the day, so we weren't sure that we wanted to stay. But I lobbied for the group to stay, and the restaurant staff worked with us. We initially discussed sitting on the cute couch, which they would have allowed, but then a true table opened for us. I started off with an americano, which hit just the right spot for me. Too many americanos are over-watered, and this one did not have that problem at all. The whole menu looked tasty, but I eventually settled on the biscuits and gravy, which comes with sausage gravy. My goodness, was I ever thrilled! I've had plenty of plates of biscuits and gravy. Too often, the biscuit is dry as a bone and the gravy is sludgy, thick, and greasy. And hey, even those biscuits and gravy plates--even those ones I can find a way to like. But this one was just perfection: a single biscuit toasted perfectly, a gravy that avoided the sludgy issue, and, best of all, a gravy that was filled with good, healthy chunks of tasty sausage, not overcooked mincemeat. Let me not forget, too--the whole thing came with a delicious, runny egg served on top. This biscuit and gravy plate was amazing and, as a credit to it, let me say that I went home and did a 7-mile training run in near-90 degree heat less than 90 minutes after this meal ended and felt totally fine. Not many biscuit and gravy plates could say that! For dessert, we shared the Italian ricotta donuts with the table. The donuts came out piping hot. They were light and pillowy, and the sugar level on the outside was just right. There was a raspberry-lemon curd drizzle that one barely even needed, though it was quite tasty. Last note I'll add: these guys have been open for about half a year. The owners (husband and wife) were both helping getting orders out and stopped by the table to say hi to us as well. I recently visited The Baker's Table with a group of friends for an early lunch and we really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The decor here somehow feels feminine and masculine at the same time and gave me granny tea room vibes while also making me feel like I was in an old fashioned smoking room. It's also worth mentioning that the entire front window is a garage door and during nice weather it's wide open for you to enjoy! I was definitely into the vibe they were going for! I felt like the service wasn't exactly up to par. My group of four visited on a weekday and arrived around 1130 and were seated immediately. For the most part, the restaurant was doing a really great business, but there were still tables available. Once seated we waited for a decent amount of time before our group was acknowledged and it was quite a while after that before our orders were taken. After ordering we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive and once we were finished eating we needed to request the check. There were a couple of things we didn't love about our meals. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup which comes with a teeny tiny side salad. The salad was well dressed with a light and bright viniagrette and I simply wish there had been more of it because it was definitely the highlight of my plate. The grilled cheese was just fine but there was truly nothing special about it. The tomato soup was something I will never order again. It had a smoky flavor to it that was very off-putting and it was weirdly spicy. I just didn't like it. A friend ordered the burger and fries and loved everything about it. Another friend ordered the basic breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. She did not really like the toast much as the bread was extremely large and it just seemed excessive. Another friend ordered the grown-up PB&J and didn't like it at all, only eating half and leaving the rest behind. Based on previous reviews it seems like we might have had a bad experience and ours isn't the norm. It also seems like ordering breakfast is the way to go and that we simply didn't order the right dishes. It's definitely worth giving it another try just for the atmosphere of the place alone, but not somewhere I really plan on going regularly. read more

It's exceptional to see a restaurant this young have such a cohesive flow. Even though we were walk-ins (pro tip: make a reservation!), we were seated quickly at the bar, which is relatively small at six seats. The atmosphere is bright and open and yet cozy, including a constant chatter from fellow happy diners. Our cocktails were well thought out for the season and menu, cappuccinos made by well-trained individuals, bar service was friendly, and the food came out in perfect timing and exceptionally delicious. Plus, good ole fashioned hospitality, like purse hooks and quality bathroom amenities. All in all, it's a new Cincinnati staple for brunch. Bring your mom, bring your kids, and bring your appetite. Absolutely an amazing breakfast experience here. Due to jetlag after a trip abroad, I woke up early on a weekday and decided to try Baker's Table, which has been bookmarked on my list for awhile now. Since I was doing a solo breakfast, I decided to sit at the bar, and go all out on whatever I wanted to try. LOVED the potatoes with the aioli sauce, and will be back to introduce my friends to this. These potatoes were crisp, and the aioli ridiculously flavorful. I was also a huge fan of the donuts with the strawberry-lemon dipping sauce, they were so delicious and hit my sweet tooth. For the main breakfast item, I went for the biscuit and gravy, which comes with a fried egg on top. This was yummy, and I saved half of it for the next day's breakfast. The space is small and cozy with tables and half boothes, and has a community table for smaller parties to sit at. I can definitely see how this place gets busy, and while I was there on a random weekday at 8:30 am, it was almost 75% full. I will be back! read more

Yummy! We ordered ricotta donuts. They were Served warm with a strawberry lemon curd sauce. They were great our grandson grabbed two. He reluctantly saved on for later. I order the avocado toast with a soft boiled egg and arugula salad topped with beets. Really nice and clean well seasoned. My spouse ordered the hole in the toast? It was really filling he said. Toast was a little much for one egg but was really well prepared. The bacon was dynamite. My grandson had the pancakes with chocolate. How can you go wrong with that? Lots of parking nearby whether it be on the street, at a meter, or in a lot- you should be able to find free parking just fine- check behind the restaurant. The restaurant is not the corner building, but the one next to it.. there are two doors you'll pass before entering, so don't be confused by the door that says, "please use next door" that's for the building next to it! Just keep walking The food is amazing! The donuts are worth a try, but the sauce is really what completes them. Their scones are some of the best scones around!!! The cookies, however, aren't nearly as exciting. They craft a gooood latte and have fun seasonal flavours. The juices are one of the most impressive and fun parts about the restaurant. The vibe was good- and it was nicely decorated. I ordered coffee-- and it was awful. I'm not sure if I had an off pot or what but I work at a hospital and our break room coffee is better. I also had the breakfast sandwich with a side of goetta- it was good. Not the best breakfast sandwich I ever had- but good nonetheless. Went here for a brunch date on a Saturday morning. We had heard rave reviews about it, so we wanted to try out something new for brunch. First, I will say that the place is beautiful. I loved the decor and interior. It was really cute. It was definitely small and crowded, but we happened to get there at the perfect time (10am) and did not have to wait. It picked up significantly after we sat down, though, and we saw people waiting for quite a while. The service was friendly. However, I felt the food left something to be desired overall. I had the fritatta with greens and my husband got the breakfast sandwich. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I was expecting to be more blown away with all the praise we'd heard beforehand. Baker's Table lived up to the hype. The interior space is designed really well. Warm and inviting. It's busy so get in early. We sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by someone. Service was attentive. But the real reason to go here is the food. The fried potatoes are light and crispy. A test of a good fried potato is how long they stay crispy at room tempature. These were still crispy when we left. Frittata, egg in a hole, and doughnuts were all fresh, delicious, and substantial. 100% coming back here. Super cute place, great service, and tasty food, but limited options and portions are small. It's prix fixe menu only - choice of two or three courses. The three course meal would have included pasta, so being gluten free, I went with the two courses ($54). For both the starter and main, 2 of the 3 options were gf and they had a good amount of vegetarian options too. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy the fresh bread, but it looked amazing! They also brought out fresh green olives for the table. For the first course, I chose the winter citrus salad which was a salad without any greens... delicious but just a few bites. My friends enjoyed the ricotta fritters as their starters. For the main, had the buttermilk trout over braised greens which was delicious, but also very small. My friends all got the raviolo - served as one large ravioli, also not a ton of food. Our group of five ordered one of each of the three dessert options (the chocolate satin was gf). Enjoyed two glasses of cab throughout the meal. Maybe it's because I didn't have the bread, but I left still hungry. Happy to have tried this place and I did enjoy the meal, but at $130 a person, not sure it's worth it if you're gluten free. read more

We were recommended this restaurant when we went to dinner and a drink at the ripple downtown Covington. Right when we saw it from the street we knew it had our name. Do you know the store dear Golden in Ann Arbor? If you're golden had a restaurant it would probably look a little bit like this. Such a great addition to our neighborhood! I love the decor and the food is GREAT! I had the Egg-in-a-hole and it was fantastic! The sourdough bread was probably the best I've ever had. My parents loved their blend of coffee and I loved my chai tea latte. My mom was bummed that their crispy potatoes weren't available until 10am but the server pulled some strings and she was able to get them. We heard many other people ask for the crispy potatoes and their servers had to explain they weren't available for breakfast which I think we can all agree is nuts! The only reason for 4 stars is because it did take a long time for our server to take our drinks orders, to bring our drinks and for our food to come out. But regardless, I will be back! It's a cute little place, and we were seated at the front next to the screened door - just wonderful on the late spring night. I'm a sucker for a quality prix fixe menu, and this one sounded wonderful. My husband and I purposely chose different plates for each of our three courses. Both 'Beginnings' (a burrata plate with red and green strawberries and frito misto) were good, although the burrata took the crown there. Our 'Pasta' courses were also pretty good (lamb ragu and lemon ricotta), with the ragu edging out the ricotta option. Our 'mains' both fell a bit short - while the salmon had perfectly crispy skin and technically it can be cooked to medium, my husband wasn't asked how he wanted it cooked, and it was quite a bit under for his preference. I opted for the lamb, and while it looked like it was cooked a perfect medium, the meat was tough and I was given a very very fatty portion (more than half of the "meat" ended up being fat), and while I do appreciate some for the richness and flavor that fat adds, this was just too much. I suppose I am a bit more finicky when I have to weigh the overall cost of the meal here and that's why I have settled on a 3, but I wanted it to be better. I really did. read more
