My husband and I went to the Baker's Table to celebrate our anniversary. It was the first restaurant we went to since COVID, and they did an excellent job making sure to observe social distancing and cleanliness guidelines. They have outdoor seating near the street, and the front of the restaurant opens up entirely so even the indoor seats feel like they are outside. To see the menu, you can scan the QR code on your table with your phone. We started with the house sourdough (warm and fresh) and olives, which were marinated with orange zest for a fun flavor. We also had the fritto misto, composed of spring vegetables that are deep fried but somehow light and airy, and the Ohio Caviar, which was beautifully arranged on a platter with blini and various accoutrements. For the main dish I had the spaghetti, which is made in house, with zucchini and a creamy sauce topped with lemon breadcrumbs. First time at this new local restaurant. It was smaller than I had thought. The wait wasn't too bad however their whole operation system was a bit disappointing. You can reserve a table but they also take walk ins at the same time. When we walked in, there were several empty tables but we were quoted a 25 minute wait. We did get seated before the 25 minute wait. I assumed the open tables were for the reservations but for a new place like this, it would make sense to say no reservations due to the high volume of walk ins. Then after we sat down I receive the "your table is ready" call. However, we were already sitting down at this point and I receive a call from them twice. I had to explain to them that they already sat us down. Seems like they need to have a better system. The food was pretty good although it's a bit pricey. I had a cappuccino but i was disappointed with how small it was. They seemed a bit understaffed because we didn't see our server but maybe twice. We came for dinner on a Saturday night recently. The whole experience was great, from the flavorful and well-prepared dishes to the candle in the bathroom (which I am definitely ordering for my home). We wanted to try the pasta courses and the mains, so we had to select the three course menu. Because of this we (two of us) got to try almost the entire menu. We had the salad and mozzarella for appetizers, the bucatini and gemelli for pasta and the salmon and lamb for main. The lamb sausage was delicious and I loved the sauce that came with the salmon which was cooked perfectly. Wonderful experience and wonderful staff definitely check this place out. read more

Unique restaurant, off the beaten track. Outside the place is nothing to look at and the neighborhood is pretty crummy but inside the bar and dining area are very nice. Small, comfortable, a bit noisy because of the size and hard surfaces. Food is outstanding. Very farm to table with most ingredients sourced locally or made in house. Meats are butchered in house. Pasta is made in house too. Limited, interesting menu. Two and three course prix fix offerings are the entire menu. we found 2 courses to be more than sufficient. excellent desserts also made in house but a la carte. really good coffee. huge wine list. superb service. owner operated. only open 4 notes probably due to staff shortages. they also have a bakery and pizzeria across the street. plenty of parking. expensive, but worth it. read more

Very disappointing meal tonight for a gathering of friends. Total bill was upwards of $800. Lamb chops for 2 of 3 in party were 80% fat and gristle, at a $12 up charge on an already pricy prix fix menu. Servers response was totally dismissive. Other entrees of our party were poorly seasoned-very bland and the seafood didn't smell or taste fresh. Fried first course was cold. Not a good experience at all. I would never have written a bad review, if the server had made any attempt to rectify, instead she fed us some line about the weight on each chop...8 oz of fat is still inedible fat. read more

First time trying this restaurant. Love the farm to table concepts and all the fresh seasonal veggies! The beginning salads and pasta was delicious, however the main dinner was disappointing. We ordered the salmon and duck and both lacked flavor and quality for the price. The sides that came with our dinners were also salads - I would've liked to have a different veggie option for a side since salads were also the only choice for appetizers. Stumbled upon this place with a friend looking for a nice brunch spot and WOW were we impressed! We both selected one of the seasonal options, didn't want to miss out in case we go back and they rotated out. I had the Hippie Bowl, without feta and substituted avocado for the boiled egg. Amazing flavor. We had a roughly 30 minute wait before we were seated so we grabbed cold brew coffee at the cafe and sat at an outside table while we waited. I found The Baker's Table when reading an article online posted by EATER, saying it was one of the top 10 new restaurants in the USA to try. It did not disappoint. I've been there 3 times and each time the food has been very good. Each time we have ordered the Italian Ricotta Donuts to share. They are amazing. I live and die by good breakfast restaurants, and The Baker's Table is one of my absolute favorites. All bread products that comes out of this place (biscuits and sourdough alike) are enough to win anyone over, but you really should not leave The Baker's Table without trying the ricotta doughnuts. I'm talking warm, dense doughnuts covered in cinnamon sugar and dipped in a sweet, delicate strawberry lemon curd. Yeah. I'm swooning just remembering them. The restaurant is relatively spacious but I've heard it can get busy on weekends! I'd recommend swinging by on a weekday or non-brunch hour if you're worried about getting a seat. The waitstaff are all absolutely delightful, and always have good suggestions. Places like The Baker's Table bring me back across the river time and time again. See you there. read more

If you're looking for amazing bottomless coffee, homemade and locally sourced cuisine (the bread is made in-house), and exceptional and friendly service in a warm and eclectic space, you will be in heaven! I've lived in Cincy my whole life and have tried every high end restaurant in the game, this is a hidden gem in Cincinnati / NKY. Smaller menu, but everything the kitchen puts out is perfectly done. Very high end ingredients, everything was clearly handmade the day of, and from start to finish every bite was 10/10! The Som was also super knowledgeable and picked a few different bottles to pair with our 3 course meal. Put this restaurant in OTR and it still competes as one of the best in the city! we had a party of eight. Our group eats out once a month at different restaurants. We chose Bakers Tavern for their Bolognese special. due to group size we had a specific menu, and the Bolognese special was shared. Many ordered the special. Then the server came back and shared the special was not available, first strike. They did offer a solution, a three course which was fine. Time between 2nd and third course was long, 30 minutes. After we were done we shared the check breakdown, then the fun began. most In our party were pairs, with one group having three. Various drink orders from all. Server said she could not break out the check. for reference all menu items had a price. We asked for the manager. She shared on two occasions the check could not be split but could be divided equally by four. She said this is normal, check not being split. our group has done this monthly dinner for two years and every restaurant spilt the bill. The restaurant did not adequately explain from the beginning and the manager actually asked what she could do after three refusals to split the bill. This did not go over well. The restaurant just did not want to take the time to split the bill. We divided the total, quite large with some paying more than they should with tip included and left. We will not patronize again. Manager was of no help as she nor the staff were flexible- note to the owner. read more

There's a lot of good restaurants on the Cincinnati area, but The Baker's Table is truly in the upper echelon of dining in the area. The cacio e pepe, lamb, pork, and burger were all great entrees. Absolutely fantastic! Great service and food. We had the chicken pate and fried mozzarella with figs appetizers. Both were delicious. For the entree I had the tagliatelle pasta which was made in house. Very very good. Wine prices could be a bit less for the pour but the Gamay selection was very nice. We also tried the chocolate brownie and pear strudel and both were great. A definite return trip! read more

I wanted so badly to like this place but unfortunately I had a terrible experience. It takes a lot for me to write one of these but after tonight it warranted one. We went out for my birthday Dinner and I wish I would have gone somewhere else. Our server ruined our night. Didn't greet us, didn't ask how we liked our food, didn't wish a happy birthday (it was noted and stated). We asked help on the menu and she brought us a glossary without saying anything which made us feel even worse for asking. The only thing she asked was if we wanted a box for the pork we didn't eat. They cleared our plates without asking if we were done. Which I wasn't done. I felt straight up uncomfortable and will not return. The food was decent but you must be able to eat outside the box and can't be picky. It was also wildly overpriced for what we got. We went on a special chefs tasting which I was excited for. I went to this restaurant for brunch as part of a Meetup event. The inside was a bit smaller than expected. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated, with a reservation but I quickly learned that this place is worth the wait. To start, I had a blood orange mimosa, which I'd never seen before. ''Twas very tasty. The menu presented a host of interesting and creative options, making it difficult to make a decision and choose just one item. Thankfully, I was with a friend who suggested we split two entrees. We chose the breakfast sammy with bacon and true sweet potato hash. Both were amazing but I decided I liked the Sammy a bit more, possibly because of the bacon. One can never go wrong when it comes to bacon. The experience was made complete by the great service we received from our server. The food is very affordable, compared to other highly regarded restaurants in the area. The drinks were a bit pricy for my taste. However, compared to competitors with similarly priced drinks, they were top notch. I can definitely see myself visiting The Baker's Table again. read more

We arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday and the entryway was very crowded so being seated was a bit chaotic, but certainly didn't ruin our experience as we were seated within 10 minutes. This restaurant has a rustic elegance and makes you feel at home. The specialty coffees are smooth and wonderful. The ricotta doughnuts are perfectly sweet and shareable. Bakers table has been a exquisite addition to the Newport food community culture of food loving friends. I personally have been satiated with my times there. I had the frittata last time they filled it with the tastiest shrubbery in all the land plus some 'Yukon potats'. Also both of their biscuit offerings are the bomb of the dot coms.
