Hubby and I had a wonderful date night at The Bakers Table. The restaurant's decor was simple, yet cozy. Service was efficient, attentive, with just the right amount of warmth. The food was the absolute best part of our evening. Everything was prepared so well...a variety of flavors, cooked absolutely to perfection, seasoned so well, with not only salt and pepper like other restaurants, but with a variety of complementing fresh herbs, vinegars, and sauces. Plating was attractive and appropriate in portion. We ordered only two courses, but with the olives, bread, and flavorful courses, we left feeling satisfied. We loved that we did not only enjoy delicious meals, but healthy as well, as they contained a variety of sweet, fresh vegetables and tasty grains. Our only "surprise," which we did not plan for.....we had found The Baker's Table on yelp. It was rated $$ and we saw photos of menus that showed that it was in the medium price range. Those ratings and photos must have been outdated. Our dinner menu (see photos) gave only the "Prix Fixe" options of 2 courses for $40 per guest or 3 courses for $58 per guest. We were surprised by this and had not really intended to spend so much on our date, but we had already made the reservation, had menus in hand, and..and well, there we were.... We decided to plunge ahead. Honestly, I rank the food at The Bakers Table as one of the top restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Outstanding!! Great Food! Great Service! Great Ambiance! They don't take reservations- instead of going at 11 am for brunch we went at 10:15 - great timing!! We were seated right away! M husband got the shrimp and grits. He is not a grits person - but he LOVED it!! Plus, they added some sausage to it. I got the salmon on toast with the boiled egg. The salmon was very good salmon!! This place is adorable. The decor is great, and they have a cute little "sitting area" where you can wait for your table with some really fun and unique books. You can grab a drink and/or bakery item while you wait as well so time goes quickly. And then the food. It was incredible. My friend and I split the chicken sandwich, the pumpkin French toast, and a side of potatoes. Everything was delicious. The French toast was very rich, like a yummy fall dessert. The sandwich seemed a little small but was actually super filling. And the potatoes actually ended up being the star of the show for me. Such a cute, farmhouse style restaurant. Yesterday was a bright sunny day and perfect for brunch. They had the large window open for a nice breeze and the wait was shorter than expected for a Saturday afternoon. I've not been too many restaurants in Newport, but I'll definitely be back here as it's one of my new favorites. My friends suggested this place and they mentioned the menu changes frequently, which is great so you don't have to feel like you've tried everything already when you come back. They also have fresh ingredients and healthier options for typical breakfast foods. I enjoyed everything from the atmosphere of the place to the service and the food. Our waiter was named Borden (no, not Gordon) and he was absolutely delightful. He was patient with our orders, attentive, and connected well with the group. We ordered the cheddar scallion biscuits and tried the Italian Ricotta Doughnuts with strawberry lemon curd to start. The biscuits are not so heavy but the perfect fluffy and flaky exterior. The doughnuts were fluffy and warm. The lemony flavor of the dressing made them so refreshing. For my meal, I ordered the Breakfast Sammy with a side of bacon. The bacon is crisp and not lathered in oil, which I love. I also love crispy bacon but do wish it was just a tad less crispy than it was, but still yummy. The sandwich was just the right amount of food. The perfect sunny side up egg and the picked onion added just the right flavor with the cheddar scallion biscuit. I ordered an Irish coffee and it was filled to the very top, and a good amount of alcohol. By the end of brunch I felt I ate just the right amount of food and not bloated like other brunches. The ingredients were fresh and balanced. I can't wait to come back here with my friends again, especially with the weather warming up. I tried bites of my friends dishes. The corned beef hash was good but would have been better with more meat. The biscuits and gravy was probably my favorite of all of it. Awesome staff in a quaint cafe with a hipster vibe. Decor is fabulous and the seating in vintage style with a modern twist. The menu offers unique and familiar tastings with something for everyone. You can get their own coffee blend, loose leaf teas, or cocktails, if you should fancy. Space is a bit limited and you will definitely have standing room only at peak times. They can check you in and send you a text when your table is ready, but you cannot make reservations or hold a table online (that I can tell). read more

Was in this part of Kentucky and went to my most trusted App, Yelp, and found this gem. Don't confuse the bakers table restaurant with the bakery across the street. I see some of the reviews are mixed up and that causes issues on the pricing as you will see. Let me state first before I get to the great parts what I didn't like. The bad part is that the price $ sign rating on Yelp is way off. And the photos of the menu were a year old and the prices on the menu more than doubled since then (as I found out the hard way). This was a very expensive restaurant. We had a $220 dinner. One of the best in a long time. Was it worth it? The food was great. The owner was there, we sat at the bar since we didn't have a reservation, the bartender was great and made excellent suggestions. But we weren't looking for that on this occasion and honestly once we were seated I don't want to get up and leave. It was prix fix, which is fine by me but with no ala carte we could not get out cheap. Honestly the food was spectacular, typical artsy fine dining smaller portions, that's ok. Asked for more bread and was charged for it. The bread was great but for what the rest of dinner cost a refill would have been nice if not expected. I didn't take photos cause we were at the bar but food looked and tasted great but whooaaa. Sticker shock. I would go back for an anniversary or sometime. read more

Stopped by today for Sunday brunch with friend, we arrived just in the nick of time as the place was packed just minutes after 10am on Sunday morning. We waited 20 minutes and were seated at the bar, first avaiable seat, being able to sit at the bar we were able to see all of their amazing teas, chai's and craft cocktails being made right in front of us. My friend enjoyed a bloody mary and chai latte, while I went with the Purple Rain cocktail made with gin, elderflower and prosecco it was delicious and refreshing. We both went with the frittata with local greens, broccoli and potatoes it was delicious and note a huge portion, but enjoyed every bite. Sitting at the bar we had people all around us and my friend felt people were pushing her during our meal, so make sure you have a seat at table in the restaurant so you can fully enjoy the experience of The Baker's Table. read more

Without detailing the problem with every course, it was not a good experience. Biggest issue was the manager who was rude and condensing. I've eaten at all the top Cincy restaurants multiple times. Not a chef, but I know good food. My steak was severely well done and cold and the manager said that's how it's supposed to be when you let it rest properly. Other food was pretty under seasoned.. Every restaurant can have a bad night, but should admit it and not try to blame the customer for not knowing what good food is supposed to taste like. read more

What a delight! My family and I had reservations to eat somewhere else, and they had a pipe explode last minute, so we had to find another dinner option. I'm happy we did, because The Baker's Table was simply wonderful. I wasn't surprised, since every review I've heard from friends has been nothing but shining. The five of us all tried different entrees, and the pasta was for sure a stand out. Our server was very detailed with the menu, and he gave us some cool history on the place. We sat at the actual bakers table, a 25 year old table at the back of the dining room that they also use to make fresh bread and pasta every day. The bread was fresh and delicious, warm and flavorful. The manager came in and checked on us, and we got to talking about aperitifs and amaro, which he followed by sending me a more obscure variety on the house. Sunday night, an impulse night out. We had lunch here a couple of years ago and wanted to try it for dinner. What a lovely choice! On our arrival we were able to request a table not too close to the music, but not too far away. Cocktails were beautifully prepared, our server, Sally, gave us guidance on the menu, decisions were made. The dinner was delightful. Lovely gougeres as appetizer. And the braised pork entree was remarkable. A creative mix of protein with greens, in season tomatoes, almonds and a wonderful jus, in exactly the right proportions. The limited brunch menu (I don't eat red meat or pork and bacon and hash are the only meat options listed) almost kept me away, but glad I gave this new KY gem a try. The wait was about 25 min, because this place is small, but they made the best possible use of space and have a cute quaint waiting area. There's also a little bar if you don't mind eating on a stool. The bar has limited selections, but fresh squeezed juice take their mimosas up a notch. Our meals were very well cooked and tasty. My favorite was the egg in a hole (commonly called egg in a frame) and who can discount the breakfast of revolutionaries ($1 to whoever gets that reference)? The biscuit that accompanied the Breakfast Sammy is scrumptious and gives Red Lobster cheddar bay a run for their money. I like this cute little spot and would return because what they have they do well, but the limited menu wouldn't make it a favorite for me. read more

Great service and delicious food! I was meaning to come and dine ever since The Baker's Table opened, but it is so crazy popular that I never snatched a table. Now, with COVID-19 re-defining how we live and eat, I was able to experience their take away and it was a treat! I ordered directly on their website, from a new and clear To Go Menu. Very easy process. I was able to easily check 2 Fish Fry dinners and a loaf of bread out, I chose the time I wanted to pick up and paid with CC (the option to tip was there). When I arrived, I could park right in front of their temporary take away door. The counter table was set up in between an opened door in a way that a safe distance was kept between me and the staff, and I did not have to touch anything. My food was ready at the time I requested, neatly packed and marked. The Lady who passed it to me had just put clean disposable gloves on. When I arrived home 10min later the food was still warm. I truly enjoyed the fish&chips with a slaw. The slaw was separated from the the rest, so nothing was soggy and all was delicious. The fish came with baked thick wedges, not greasy and yummy. I had an extra side of fries, but the portion was sufficient without them. Last but not least, I took their sourdough loaf and it was very good! I normally buy Blue Oven, but gotta say The Baker's Table's bread is equally good, a serious contender! Thank you for staying open during this pandemic! I asked if they still had them, and luckily for us, our server was more than accommodating. I believe her name was Mary - she was great! This place is great, small intimate place , packed with people and delicious. We came here and waited awhile for a table since we didn't think of getting a resevation. When we finally sat down waiter was very helpful and went through the menu with us as this was our first time there. I ended up getting the pancakes with coffee. Not sure if the menu we had was a seasonal menu but the pancakes with baked apples was phenomenal. It had a great tasted and the texture was perfect blend with the syrup. Wow! This place was incredible. Heard about it through Facebook and had to check it out. Food was incredible and very rich. I got the fried chicken Sammie that comes on a biscuit, it blew me away. The fried potatoes were amazing and large enough to share. All of the bread is made in house and everything is local and farm fresh ingredients. The drinks were a little more expensive than I would have liked, but everything else was priced pretty well, especially for really good ingredients. My wife took me here for my birthday brunch. I love good food and good conversation. For the latter, my wife gets a 5 star review. For the food? Another 5 stars. I love this place! It has all that I want in a restaurant. Open feel that is urban, open and very inviting. And yes, great food. We were able to park (for free!) right our front on the street. Tip- go early! We hit it just before they were switching from the breakfast menu (served all day) to the lunch menu. Do we were able to choose both and avoid the rush. The server found out it was my birthday from my wife and she generously brought out a stack of hot Italian ricotta doughnuts with strawberry-lemon curd to dip. My oh my! I typically do not start off a meal with sweets but...these were just incredible. Very light, airy and on the inside and just enough crisp and sugar on the outside. Then we moved on to the fried chicken sandwich on buttermilk biscuit. My oh my... the combination of the chicken, biscuit with spicy slaw and honey was fantastic. A great mix of flavors- some mild heat, savory and sweet all working together for a great sandwich. And the crispy potatoes with aioli! Just what you'd want- mouth watering good- crispy, tasty, yum. For "dessert", we had the pumkin (yes that's how they spell it) French toast. It's made with delicious apple cider caramel and topped with a Chantilly cream. Everything about this place feels like it was made to post on instagram and the aesthetic feels classy yet understated. We started by sharing Italian Ricotta Doughnuts with strawberry-lemon curd. The doughnuts were absolutely delicious, it felt damned near impossible to only eat one (thought the serving sizes here felt generous, so definitely save room. For my meal, I ordered the Egg-In-A-Hole, which is served via thick-cut sourdough griddle-fried with an egg, Applewood bacon & a side salad. This bread is what carb-filled dreams are made of. There was so much food but I couldn't stop eating. The side salad was also delicious. When I read "side salad" it didn't sound appetizing for breakfast, but it complemented the meal well. I almost just want the sourdough bread just made as toast as the egg felt hardly necessary. The buttery goodness filled my stomach and heart. I can't wait to find an excuse to bring someone to the Bakers Table. If you haven't been to Bakers Table lately - you haven't been to Baker's Table. Apparently the owner is back in the kitchen and boy! can you taste it! Really wonderful meal. The fruit and mozzarella was a bright taste of summer with the heirloom tomatoes and cukes bringing a smile to our faces. The carrot filled triangle pasta was delicious as well at the pork and corn-cakes. Yummy. And as always, well served by an engaging staff in a warm and sophisticated setting. Loved, loved, loved it. I went to The Baker's Table for breakfast with a friend who was in town visiting me. I had heard nothing but great things so I decided to cross the bridge and give it a shot. It was pretty nice out so we decided to sit outside. We weren't too hungry so decided to catch up over morning mimosas and a few small plates to split - ricotta donuts, breakfast potatoes, and avocado toast. Our waitress greeted us nicely but was a bit judgy when we ordered mimosas at 9am (yes it was early but c'mon girl). I had also asked for my half of the avocado toast without sesame seeds or carrots and she was not very happy with that - almost as if we were inconveniencing her with the minor request. Turns out she told the whole staff that I was "allergic" to carrots because a different waitress came out and asked who had the carrot allergy! 1. I do not have a carrot allergy. 2. I was so embarrassed and don't understand how/why this was made into such a big deal. After a fly flew into my mimosa, we went inside to finish our drinks at the bar. The bartending staff was extremely nice and immediately struck up conversation as soon as we sat down. Their bathrooms were also gorgeous and have everything from men's hair pomade and women's hairspray for you to freshen up with. I have now been to The Baker's Table on two separate occasions, and have been thoroughly impressed both times. The Italian ricotta donuts are to die for! The strawberry lemon curd dipping sauce is what takes the donut holes from average to extraordinary. I will definitely order these every time I visit! I also really enjoyed the classic two eggs your way entree. The Baker's Table housemade bread is so thick and different from your traditional toast. Paired with fresh jam, it's a true treat! The Baker's Table is a nice addition to Newport, and I was super excited to give them a try. I had seen them come up on Instagram by different people and knew I had to go. The rustic theme goes all the way to the food. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed our brunch. We both started our brunch with salads. I ordered the Dark Wood Farm Greens and my husband ordered the Chicory Caesar Salad. Both salads were really good and tasted very fresh. You could tell the freshest ingredients were used. We enjoyed our salads. For brunch I ordered the Egg Sandwich and my hubs ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. My egg sandwich was delicious! It consisted of Cheddar scallion biscuit with spicy aioli, pickled red onion, spring greens and a fried egg. I also added bacon to mine. This sandwich was so tasty and everything tasted homemade. The biscuit was perfect. It had a crispy edge with a crumbly tender center. Ahhhhhmazing! My husband loved everything about his fried chicken sandwich except they put the coleslaw on the sandwich which had a lot of juices and it made the biscuit a little soggy. Other than this he really enjoyed his sandwich. I must say it was pretty darn good. I took a bite and it was very rustic in taste and look. Yummy! The owner met us at the door and gave us a warm welcome and even made an effort to engage my 10 month old son.
