The facility is always clean, the equipment is modern and well-maintained, and there's plenty of space so it never feels overcrowded even during busy hours. The locker rooms are also really nice and kept in great condition. One of the highlights of this location is the staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about creating a good environment for members. Nick in particular stands out. He's always helpful, professional, and brings great energy to the gym. Whether it's answering questions or just making people feel welcome. Additionally, Fitness SF outperforms the local competition; five points fitness, body kinetics, and the bay club all have worse hours, higher prices, and worse equipment (significantly worse regarding five points) If you're serious about building your physique, or just want a high quality, friendly environment to work out in, this gym is right for you If you or anyone you know truly believes an alternative gym in Marin is better than Fitness SF, your IQ is most likely lower than your bench. BUT! That's ok! Switch to Fitness SF and our community and equipment will get you right, physically and mentally. I know for a fact if you come here for just one month you'll never want to switch back to your old gym. Overall, its a fantastic place to work out. Great equipment, great atmosphere, and great staff. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality gym in the area. Oh and I almost forgot we've got some wonderful massage chairs for post lift relaxation.

Though I've settled on an overall 4-star rating, there have been several visits where I'd not have rated it above 3-stars and once a single-star experience. But overall, if what you seek is a group exercise class, Club Pilates, with its clean, well-organized space and abundance of class offerings will suffice. A friend of mine owned a Club Pilates franchise and she described to me the most difficult part of the experience was hiring and keeping good staff. I imagine that remains a challenge, possibly because many of the best Pilates instructors might opt to work with a smaller class size, where they could more easily oversee correct movement and body-part placements. When a friend heard that I was going here she questioned how instructors manage these important Pilates concepts and I had to admit: Often, not at all. The key to a great experience here is twofold: find the class description you like then find an instructor you also like, who leads that class. This can be a challenge. The sign-up system is via the Club Pilates app and it's easy, but those who've already figured out the above tend to fill those classes quickly. Club Pilates is far from my idea of an ideal Pilates experience but sometimes good enough is okay too. That's exactly what I've found this Club Pilates to be and if I can ever get the classes and instructors I desire on a regular basis that opinion will certainly improve.

If not for a perk that comes with my healthcare, StretchLab would've always been a place about…read morewhich I was curious but which I'd be too cost-conscious to actually explore. So for once I can actually say "thank you" to my care provider. StretchLabs seem to have multiplied as fast as bacteria. In Marin alone there are now 3 but I've come to learn something worth knowing: Though the art on the walls may be the same at all, the experience you have there is not. StretchLab Greenbrae is owned by the same folks as StretchLab Novato. I've been to both (and more) and formed an impression based on this. Namely, the owners of these two StretchLab outposts run the place with excellence. There is always someone to greet and welcome you, it always feels genuine, and it lends to my enjoyment of the overall experience. When a place is well run it filters down to the staff. Here (and Novato) I've never had a Flexologist arrive late, start late, or cancel altogether. If this has happened to you I'd bet it occurred neither in Greenbrae or Novato. Each Flexologist (their term) comes to the job with a different background (e.g. yoga, personal training, etc.) and I've found it interesting to try stretches performed by differing staff members to experience the variety and see whose touch I prefer. Though I have identified favorites, all have been uniformly excellent. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived and further, I find the whole process enjoyable. If you have the means, the need, and the inclination, StretchLab Greenbrae and StretchLab Novato provide what I can only describe as a perfect experience from the moment you step inside until the time you leave.

I have not had this much movement in my rotator cuff for decades, a testament to the practice, the place and practitioner. The studio staff is personal and professional, and the entrepreneurs Pam and Jeff that own studios in Greenbrae and Novato are deeply committed to the process and have created a special place. As I increase the number of sessions per month, I anticipate more flexibility in multiple areas.

Teacher Lauren Cohen is awesome - grounded, well balanced sequences, supportive and kind. There's lots of parking which makes in and out easy and stress free. The not-so-good: limited number of classes offered and teachers can be hit or miss. Estee Fletter was amazing and has sadly left the studio. A few vanilla flavored teachers (especially late afternoon) seem to just be going through the motions and seem only willing to engage with younger students (or male students...) Not as many offering as some of the other studios in Marin: one huge room that sometimes barely has 10-12 students and an outdoor deck that would be lovely for classes but sadly is seldom used. The whole space worked so well when it was YogaWorks and the space has so much potential if they'd only cut the large studio into two and offer moonlight or morning classes in the Sun deck. Instead, there's the one big studio that's mostly empty and only affords them to offer one or two classes in the morning and the afternoon. If there were more rooms and more offerings, I'd probably get an unlimited membership; but as it is now, it's just not worth it. In conclusion, it's great for a one off class now and then but doesn't (for me at least) offer a long term home for yoga.

The workout is very challenging, but low impact, so you can do it several times a week while saving all your joints! Before I realized the studio had re-opened, I tried out Pure Barre. While the class itself at Pure Barre was ok, there was zero interaction between the instructor and students. At Bear Flag Fitness, the instructors are continually helping with form to maximize your results and keep you safe. They also keep the energy up with their encouragement, and they know the name of every single student. It's definitely more of a "community" here. I have tried a lot of different workouts over the past few decades...and this is the only one I've been able to stick to for over 3 years--partly because of the community, and partly because of the undeniable results! I have never had toned arms or back before doing this workout. I just love it here.

We were both completely dying, but will definitely be back; I've already signed up for a monthly auto-renewal membership. The people, both staff and attendees, were so warm and friendly and chill - and working out in a mask wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it would be (or maybe I was being challenged *just enough* to not notice the mask). I'm certain I'll be sore tomorrow but my joints, which I've mistreated for years, won't hate me. What more could you ask for!? I'm super excited to try more classes; this is going to be a great, ass-kicking, toning workout to fold into my swimming and Peloton routine, and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to do a decent push-up set again sometime soon!
