I happened to run across CaliTraining while walking my dogs at Schoonmaker Marina. I had quit my previous gym just before Covid and was looking for somewhere to workout one on one with a trainer. I was uncomfortable going back to a gym that many people would be at. CaliTraining had everything I was looking for! Not only could I schedule my training around my schedule I would be the only person at the gym. Jesse the owner couldn't have been nicer when I called. I've been working out at CaliTraining now for over two years and I feel fantastic! My training is focused on my needs. I am stronger and more balanced. I'm an avid skier and this season I really noticed the difference in my overall performance on the slopes. Although I'm not crazy working on my core (it's hard) the individual training I've received made core training fun and so worth it. When you know you should be working out because its good for your health...Ive heard that message all my life and guiltily ignored it for years. Until the risk of osteoporosis sets in, you start feeling achy all over; I kept chalking it up to that it was part of aging and this is normal. But it isn't. And this last year when I decided to really take it seriously, to look at it as part of a lifestyle rather then a quick fix for weight loss or feeling great just for a moment, I realized that this is a priority, not an option. Its for the rest of my life that I do this. Finding a great trainer to motivate and help me through the inevitable resistance to working out, powering through that part of you that wants to quit because its too hard, you hurt, today you dont feel that great...that's Jesse. It takes a lot to motivate people, change life long behaviors. And Jesse has helped me do that. And now when I feel like I dont want to go...I think about how great I will feel afterwards. He's very experienced and professional and great with all ages - but I'm on the older side and I appreciate the low impact considerations. For me, great for balance and improving strength.
