You order food at a separate window but that's okay- it comes quickly and is very good bar food. The music is a bit loud but it's a bar- that's to be expected. In terms of staying here for drinks, there's better areas. The price of food is asinine. Really? 15 bucks for a burger? The staff are really friendly though which is why this place isn't getting a 1 star. It's also a horrible place to work. The staff get treated like garbage every night and there's no punishment for the customers who harass the kitchen employees. So we stayed at The Genetti hotel, which is great, but was directed to visit their tap room bc they were open to 11 pm for food and drinks. We walked in at 10:20 and told by the bartender that the kitchen was closed and doing last call. So we decided to fin our own place and came across Bar on Market Street. What a find. Delicious drinks and food. Great staff and owners. Awesome atmosphere!! The Bar was nice, but the "Bar Security" was very unprofessional. My group of 11 people were sitting in the "lounge" portion of the bar. We were having a few drinks and enjoying ourselves. The "Bar Security" stood there for the majority of the time and just watched us. "Bar Security" also would come by our group and pick up drinks that were barely touched. The group this establishment has running security ruined the experience for everybody. We will do business elsewhere. read more

I've lived in the Williamsport area for just over a year and discovered "The Bar on Market" shortly after I arrived. The bar offers a variety of options to keep you entertained. They have a pool table, two video poker machines, and giant Jenga! Also, you are able to step outside on the sidewalk with your drinks while you smoke/hang out with your friends. The drinks are good and they offer daily specials. If you're a beer aficionado they have a HUGE selection of canned beer (and ciders) available for choosing. If you like live music, stop by on the weekends to catch one of the many live bands they host regularly. My personal favorite is the "Drumatics" who play every so often. If you don't know who they are, google them! Its an awesome show! I definitely recommend you giving The Bar on Market a visit! read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. They accused me of having a fake id on my 22nd birthday. I had to come in and educate them in the new law about PA licenses. On top of that, j didn't come in for a little bit. When I came back in they completely ignored me and wouldn't take my order even thought I've been standing there for 5 minutes. This bar is great in the most general of terms. The drinks/shots are cheap without making you feel like gagging after consuming them. There are a ton of games to entertain yourself and your friends with if you not only want to drink but to drink and play games such as vertical pong, jenga, table corn hole, and pool. It is a very chill and enjoyable atmosphere with very attentive bartenders. HOWEVER, if you plan on bringing 10 of your friends and spending over $300 worth of food and drinks at this venue - PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that you may be asked by the BOUNCER that you will need to clean up your own table ie. collect all of your glasses. I mean I could understand if we left the place in a mess but we placed all the glasses stacked on one side of the table. There were no spills on the floor or anything on the floor. The table had your traditional leftover paper plates from consuming purchased food items. Also, the bar/venue was not busy at all. After one bouncer came up to us while we were playing pool saying "can you all clean your table, you left it a mess," he literally went back outside to talk leisurely to another bouncer. I could understand if the venue was busy but it wasn't. There were plenty of empty tables. Who does that? I have never been to a bar where you literally clean your on table. You go to cellblock - guess what? Someone comes around and collects the glasses and throws away the trash. I guess the bouncer is limited to staying outside and talking to people because he is above picking up stacked glasses and bringing it to the back of the house. Hell maybe it is a self-serve bar where what you consume, you have to bring it back to the bar. Guess what - we didn't know. No one informed us. But if you want to tell a group of people who just spent at least $300 at your establishment (and who were more than likely willing to spend more) that you want them to clean up their own table, you might want to try a more professional way to communicate that. Because we loved that bar but instead of us spending $300 of our own money at your bar in the future, we'll spend it at someone else's. There's plenty of bars to choose from. And the bouncer telling us to go away and "spend our daddy's money somewhere else" is pretty disrespectful. I'm 32, I haven't received a cent from my "daddy" since 2007. But its ok. I get it. I always used to go to the Bar before I moved. First time back to Williamsport to visit and wanted to show my friends a good place to go. I promise I will never spend money here or recommend this place again. I was so appalled at the service I received. I realize they are always very busy and I am a patient person but when the blonde bartender looks right at me and I have some random guy behind me (obviously taller than me) get served after waiting a half hour for a drink I was beyond disgusted. I said something and the guy was very rude and the bartender was making comments like she didn't need my money , etc... then I see why He got served over me... he ordered multiple shots so she wanted the tip. Very rude. Little does she know I always tipped well when I went in to The bar. Never again. Make sure your blonde bartender is aware that you need to also be nice to new customers in order to expand the business. read more
