Just had the worst experience in Trevina. All of their wine taps were depleted. One of them spat out a strong-smelling chlorinated water instead of wine. Ordered a bottle of champagne. It arrived warm. Appetizers were served at the same time as the main meal. Cold burger, dry panini. Wedge salad was a slab of old wilted lettuce with some vile smelling liquid on it, not the blue cheese dressing. Absolutely disgusting. Place was mostly empty on a Friday night. First time here. Wine taps were not good, wine tasted like plastic. Ordered the seared scallops , really enjoyed the meal up to the fourth and fifth scallop which tasted and smelled like ammonia. Server took them to the chef and they said they tasted them and they were fine. So beware when ordering the scallops. I used to LOVE Trevina and always looked forward to my visits but the change in menu is atrocious. This was upscale food that was different for the area now it has changed the menu to be exactly like everywhere else and to top it off it is done badly. We tried the smash burger which was not. It was a regular burger with sautéed onions and cheese with no sauce. The regular burger which was also overcooked, flavorless, and small with no sauce. Both orders of fries were so salty they were inedible. Also tried the tuna. The plating was dreadful with over cooked potatoes and veg all with no real flavor. We were in town for the unPAved gravel bike race. Had dinner here the night before. Interesting set up, with server yourself beer. The taps measure the ounces as you pour. So, it was easy to try a couple of beers, and I liked that I could control the amount. The ambience is nice. Lively, bright, nice feeling. The food was pretty good. We got the fries with carne Assad. Interesting combo, and they were great. I liked the cojita cheese and cilantro crème sauce. We also got two sandwiches. Mine was the Milano chicken panini. My only doing is the chicken was a bit dry. I loved the prosciutto, cheese and pesto combo with the chicken. The fries were quite large but the sandwiches were on the small size and didn't come with sides. That was ok by me, but others might complain about the serving amount. read more

Ambiance and attitude. We walked in the front door at 5:45 pm and were annihilated by the smell of days old fish, overlayed by the smell of fabreze . Having been here years previous, we advanced thinking we were in for a great time and a good experience. As we did a U-turn into the main dining area and sat at the bar the smell continued to be so daunting that we could hardly even focus. We ordered two beers while we decided whether or not we could stay in this atmosphere to have dinner. I mentioned the issue to the bartender, feeling sympathetic that maybe she had been inside all day and not noticed the stench. She flagged down the manager and things went from bad to worse. The manager met us with surly condescension, suggesting that perhaps our neighbors order of calamari was the issue. At that, we assured her the smell was overpowering her entire restaurant and she may want to crack a door or a window. She smirked and let us know it was "too cold outside" (60 degrees) but that she was on it. As she walked away, we caught her rolling her eyes at us in the mirror. It was an absolutely perfect fall evening, sunny and a light breeze - the entire restaurant vibe would have been elevated if she just would have opened the doors!!! About 3 minutes later she swept through the area, otherwise empty except for us, with her full finger on the throttle of a bottle of Fabreze. That decided it for us, we would not be dining here tonight; in fact the overwhelming fabreze now choking us out, we left the bar with two pints 1/2 un-drunk and went elsewhere for dinner. Now that I've read all the recent, equally negative, reviews of a place previously adored, I have to wonder... do you have a management issue? Or an ownership issue? Either way, we will not be back until there is a change back to where things were. read more

I visited over the weekend, and Trevina is now unrecognizable. Despite it being a weekend night, the place was nearly empty. It's very disappointing to see such a great business decline due to poor decision-making by the new management. Usually, when you acquire a business, it's because you value its identity and business model. So why purchase it just to cheapen it? The atmosphere has changed, and there seems to be a high turnover of employees. They removed the coffee bar. I loved their fries, but now they're serving low-quality frozen fries instead of the thin-sliced, fresh fries they were known for. The new menus are a mess--they couldn't even print them with decent ink, and the grammar is sloppy. It doesn't match the brand identity with diner-style menus. I hope they are able to pass the management of the business to someone who will make better decisions and restore Trevina to its former state, helping it stay afloat. read more

Atmosphere was awesome. Very neat and clean throughout the restaurant. Food was good, nothing to brag about. I had chicken alfredo (with spaghetti) which was different. My wife had a chicken ranch panini that was a good portion size that "was yummy". The staff was very friendly. Today was our waiteess' first day and she did great! Watching this place change so much wince it first opened has been hard. I visited there this past weekend and unfortunately it appears to have changed a lot since it first opened. It was a unique place to visit where you can quickly order on your phones from a small me u that was perfected with enjoyable snacks and some meals, but now the menu is completely overwhelming. How can a menu has so many ingredients and be so fresh? And waiting to order took the fun out of what use to be easy ordering. I looked at the menu online and saw they had rose on tap which was something I wanted, but walking up to the truck I found that at least half (possibly more than half) of the wines were out of stock (including the rose they said was on tap online). Then when I picked a second choice, nothing cane out of the spout! I feel bad - it was sad sitting in a place that used to be up and booming to now what was empty and unfortunately felt a bit dreary in what is such a beautiful place. Trevina appears to be struggling with its identity. As fairly regular customers since it first opened, we left wondering if we'd ever return--or if we'd feel comfortable bringing visiting friends. What began as an upscale tapas restaurant has shifted into yet another deep fried yuck fest. The menu feels sparse and disjointed, now offering burgers, generic flatbreads, and random entrees that left us feeling like we settled for less. The under-seasoned, undercooked tuna was curiously paired with boiled corn. The burger (because they were out of the other entree) was fine, but I could have eaten that on any corner of Market street. Nearby, we couldn't help but overhear a group of well-dressed women who seemed just as confused by Trevina's new direction. Their eventual choice to share french fries was telling. While the hip mid-2000s music and beautiful decor still create a glamorous atmosphere, these now only serve to highlight the menu downgrade. Oh, and we're still stuck with those dissociative QR code menus that make you stare at your phone instead of engaging with your friends, date or reality itself. The servers are still friendly (and apologetic), but I was angry to learn they don't receive tips! What is management doing with the tips? A solid 4.5. Trevina is, by Lewisburg standards, very high tech. I say this because there is more than one restaurant in town that doesn't even answer the phone for take out orders and makes you go in person just to put in an order (I will not name names, but trust me, lol.) Here, you can not only make reservations online, but when you approach the hostess, you will be asked for your credit card to link to cards to use at the taps for wine, beer, and cider. You also order yourself through Toast after scanning the menu from their QR code. Serve-yourself wine (or beer or whatever) is an awesome idea. Want a small glass, a big glass? You pay by the ounce. You can sample before committing. And you can refill whenever you want and not have to wait to flag down a server. They also have a full bar if you want cocktails instead (this is not self service, obviously). The food is pretty good, too. The concepts is shared plates. We had the crab dip, the calamari, the Brussels sprouts, the short rib flat bread, and the Reading Terminal panini, which is a take on the iconic Philadelphia roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwich. Everything was pretty delicious. The flatbread topping was yum, but the bread itself is on the dry side. The panini was better in that regard. A few issues. We ordered in two rounds, 3 items at a time. First round, we did not receive the Brussels sprouts. My daughter got a server to bring them (apparently they went to the wrong table who did not reject the free food). Second round, we ordered sliders and we also never got those. At that point, we were full so we asked the hostess to remove it from our tab, which she very nicely did. I would just say that given the fact that you get your own drinks, and place and pay for your own order on your phone, the staff need to figure out how to get food to tables correctly since that is really their only responsibility. We ordered six things and had problems with two items. Not a great success rate. Small other note: it is too bright in there. It's a cool looking space, fun vibe. The menu, which used to be tasty and interesting is now mostly common place fried food, burgers, chicken tenders, and fried mozzarella sticks. Not to mention the joke that was my salmon entree (as another review said, a minuscule piece of fish). None of the tasteful menu options remained. The fries are a sad resemblance of what used to be greatness. So, I decided to book a dinner reservation for tonight to celebrate my youngest sister's 21st birthday. To my embarrassment, I show up with 7 other people, only to find the restaurant closed. I even got a text from the restaurant confirming my reservation a half hour prior. No communication from the restaurant, and nobody picking up the phone to explain why I was never notified about the restaurant being closed when I had a reservation. This was my first time at this place and it was really cool! When we first got there they ask if we would like to start a tab or tap card. Tap card is for the wall of drinks. We started a tab and they gave us a QR code to scan. Everything was online and seemed to make the process simpler and quick. So much has changed at a place that was cutting edge and THE place to meet friends. The menu is awful, more appropriate for a dive bar. The beer wall has none of the hard-to-get brews it was known to have and many taps are empty. The wine tastes stale. Walking in and asking for a seat in a very empty place throws the staff into a tizzy as they insist they have no seats available. While visiting our daughter at Susquehanna University, we visited nearby Lewisburg. Based off the the reviews, we had to try Trevina. It did not disappoint! We shared a variety of items from the menu: the Milano chicken panini, the brussel sprouts, the carne asada fries and pretzel bites. All were awesome. The beer and wine stations and online ordering startled us at first. However, it's just a unique ordering and sampling/drinking experience. Why didn't we think of this?!? Look, the service and ambiance were perfectly fine and I had no issues with either. We were treated well and quickly by a very professional seeming waitstaff and the host was very nice. The sole issue was the food and I will admit I have a very small sample size to go off of here, so take everything with a grain of salt. While the presentation of all the food was astounding, the food itself was a letdown. I, and another diner with me, both ordered the chicken Alfredo. While the pasta was cooked well and the sauce was honestly good albeit a bit watery and weak, the chicken was undeniably bad. It was advertised as grilled chicken, which, being this is winter, I would not judge them for not grilling this at all, maybe their kitchen isn't equipped for that. But what I will judge for is overcooked chicken that is rubbery and chewy. It was so dry that even the sauce could not save it. The other diner I was with had the same issues with this dish. It's obvious that this restaurant is trying and has many good elements, but the food itself just does not make it worth it when basics like properly cooked chicken aren't reliable. Food was never its strongest suit, but it was kind of cool to pick something off the menus, scan it with your phone, and have it delivered in minutes. Something changed over the past few months. We heard new management or ownership. Same beer and wine taps, but it's now full service with an expanded kitchen menu. But neither is good. Food from the order was forgotten, server didn't return to the table, and food quality was blah - no one likes cold calamari. We've only been there once since the change, but the other reviews are confirming similar experiences. Not in a rush to come back until the reviews get more positive. This time I gave a 3 because of the way they do reservations. I tried to do reservations 2 days ago. It kept saying no availability from 9:45 to 1:45. I knew that couldn't be right when they opened at 11! I couldn't get past the point of number of people. When I called she said I had to make reservations online! I couldn't!! Should I just not come? Whatever is in that space is not Travina, it's more like Travina's white trash cousin. We went thinking it was the same restaurant and were surely mistaken. Everything was fried - and not well. We ordered sandwiches and they were so basic I almost held bad for them. The only flavor you'll get is of whatever fat they use to fry everything in. Literally nothing tasted like anything. The wait staff were as nice as can be and I'd venture to say better than those who worked at Trevina previously, who were at times aloof, and sometimes too snotty for their own good. But at least at the old Trevena, the food was really good. The tap wall was still there and worked generally the same, but the selection was poor. It's honestly the saddest thing I've seen happened to Lewisburg in a very long time. I have no idea why anybody would have invested so much time and energy into building Trevena up just to sell it. Whoever is running it now clearly has no culinary training or experience in the restaurant industry. To the extent that they do, thank you it was definitely a diner. Several things stopped us from having a great experience like we've had in the past. The fact that the place was also fairly empty for a Saturday night and the recent mostly negative reviews lead me to believe others are not impressed with the changes either. I'm not sure how long ago ownership changed, but hopefully they can still turn things around. We likely won't be back in it's current state, but the Trevina of the past was a great addition to Lewisburg. First, they have moved away from the QR code ordering system. There is now a paper menu and wait staff you need to order food with. This slows things down and forces you to wait for staff if you'd like to order food. The QR code ordering system along with the self pour tap system formed a unique identity for Trevina not available elsewhere in the local area. Second, there are some issues with the tap system I never saw in the past. The first self pour tap I used was not properly calibrated. My glass was not even half full and it charged me for 22 ounces. There was a little difficulty getting this adjusted but ultimately they did. What was more concerning to me was that they knew which tap was having issues before I told them. Seemed like it was a known issue but they left it on knowing it could be overcharging customers. There were also two separate taps that had the same beer listed as the description. Third, there are now separate hours for the beer wall and the venue itself. We were seated just before 9PM and given our pour cards as normal with no warning of this. At around 10 PM we were told that the beer wall closed at 9 PM. This was not accurate as we arrived shortly before 9 PM and had been using it as recent as 9:45. Fourth, there are now separate tabs for the beer wall and food. This is not a big issue, but causes some confusion. The kind waitress tried explaining after the fact and had us close our food tabs at the table where we were able to tip. We were told we could close our beer tab at the counter where we entered before leaving. Upon leaving a short time later, they had the beer wall area roped off. I attempted to close out at the bar, however I was told it was automatically closed. There is also a sign stating unclosed tabs will have an automatic 20% gratuity added. So I had already tipped the waitress and was now forced to tip an additional 20% for the beer I poured myself. Closing my tab without me and adding a 20% fee over an hour before the venue closes seemed off to me. Who does the tip even go to when I poured my own beers? The bar staff interaction I had left me with the impression that this was a normal occurrence and they did not offer any sort of resolution or even offer to print me a receipt. Our beer tab was low since they closed the beer wall so early anyway, so I just let it go. The menu has lost any sort of identity. There are now things such as frozen fries and hot dogs where as the past they focused on tapas. There was also an entire page of items only available on Monday's that you cannot order. Most places would have a separate insert with this to avoid confusion. read more
