Well, where to begin. First there was only 2 people working. Once we got our food we sat down. There were flies on the tables. Then we start to eat, the worst barbecue we have ever had. Even the banana pudding was a let down, old. The Peach Cobbler was also horrible. We left after taking a few bites. What a waste of $40.00.

Stopped there today to pick up some pork sandwiches for lunch. What a let down and waste of money. I ate my sandwich and had about 3 pieces of grizzle and fat. Not too bad but wasn't impressed with the overall taste. However my mom and niece had one and half sandwiches and it was nothing but grizzle and fat!!! Look at this plate there was no edible meat. Will not ever go there again. Want to go back and complain and get our money back but my Momma wouldn't let me drive back into town to do it. Don't waste your money! Not even worth it if you're starving. HOWEVER the beans were delicious so that's why I gave it 1 star.

One of the best BBQ houses in the south. We ordered the ribeye po boy sandwich and tri tip meat platter. The ribeye meat was the tenderest piece of meat that I have had in a long while. Their house BBQ sauce had great flavor. Their beans were to die for and of course their banana pudding was a perfect finish.

My daughter had mentioned she heard this place had great pho so we looked it up and they happen to be open. It was good timing as the owner was about to go on a six week vacation to Vietnam. It's located inside the mini mall and you can't see any signage from the street but just walk into the area that says Rose's and you will find a store that reminds me aldi touch between a dollar store Ollie's. Just to the right inside the door you will find T's Sandwiches. No frills place here that is very clean but simple. This is certainly not the place for fast food, indeed many people called in and came by about 15 minutes later, only to still wait a few minutes. But nobody complained and it seemed like a normal part of the process. And everyone we saw come through we could tell were repeat customers who wished him well on his trip. Aptly named, the place really does some great American style sandwiches. My wife got the club and it was just fantastic, fries that came with it were amazing according to my college teenager who waited for my wife to finish and then devoured the rest of them. I asked the guy what the best order was and he said the soup (pho). My two girls and between us got the meatball, beef, and chicken soups. I thought the flavor was fantastic. This particular style has the grill flavor in it as he is cooking the meats on the grill and then infusing that into he soup for a wonderful, soulful flavor that I haven't had anywhere else and would also recommend for others. We also got the fried egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls, both of which were good. Slight word of warning as when he's cooking you can see smoke coming through the air and out to the open mall area so just be aware if you have allergies. The trick is certainly to put an order in and pick it up as he makes each order as it comes in and at times people waited for ten minutes just before he was able to get around and assist them...but again not one complaint! If you are in town and want a pleasant surprise just a few blocks off campus, meet up here. All that food, with bottled drinks added, came out to $60 which I thought was a great deal! This place would be worth a diversionary trip if you are in the area.

My wife and I liked the beef pho, and my daughter prefers the chicken pho. She says the chicken is tender & tasty with no fat. She also likes the spicy chicken fried rice, which is not actually spicy at all, but has a good flavor.

I had the BLT with the optional egg and it was okay, nothing to write home about. Coffee was good. Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.

After helping our daughter move for school, we returned to the hotel exhausted. We had already had an early dinner, so we decided to have a drink and order a light appetizer and dessert poolside. The bar was crowded, and although three different servers came through the pool area, not one stopped at our table to ask whether we needed menus or anything else. We eventually had to flag someone down ourselves. Unfortunately, that interaction seemed to set the tone for the remainder of the evening. The staff we encountered were consistently unwelcoming and inattentive. It gave the impression that they were simply there to complete their shift rather than provide the level of hospitality guests should reasonably expect. The atmosphere was also frustrating. A toddler was repeatedly screaming at the top of her lungs while a musician was performing, and the child's father made no apparent effort to address the situation. While that is not necessarily the hotel's responsibility, the combination of the disruptive environment and poor service made for a particularly unpleasant experience. The situation became even more frustrating when we accidentally left my arm brace on the table as we hurried to finish our nightcap and leave. Within approximately five minutes of realizing it was missing, my husband returned to retrieve it. Since it had been left on the table moments earlier, we expected that the server or another staff member would be able to locate it easily. Instead, he was sent from the bar to the kitchen and then to the front desk. After approximately 15 minutes, he returned without the item. That experience reinforced the impression I had already formed earlier in the day: there appears to be very little communication or coordination among the staff. No one seemed to take ownership of a simple guest-service issue or make an effort to resolve it efficiently. When guests are paying nearly $600 for two nights in a small town such as Nacogdoches, particularly at a property marketed as one of the best accommodations in the area, there is an expectation of professional, attentive hospitality. Guests should feel welcomed, recognized, and valued. Unfortunately, I did not experience that during my stay. The attitude of the waitress who ultimately served us was particularly disappointing and significantly affected the overall experience. Her demeanor was not appropriate for someone working in a customer-service position, much less one at a property presenting itself as a higher-end accommodation. I strongly recommend that management take a closer look at staff training, communication, accountability, and expectations surrounding guest service. Tipping is part of the hospitality industry, and guests should not have to repeatedly seek out employees for basic service. Based on this experience, I will not be staying here again. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve the guest experience for future visitors.
