Unfortunately, KC at The Barbery has become a serious inconvenience. Before my haircut, I could quietly go about my day unnoticed. Now people keep saying things like, "Nice haircut," and asking where I got it done. I showed up looking like I had given up on personal grooming several weeks ago. KC somehow turned that situation around and made me look like a functioning adult. The woman clearly has unreasonable levels of talent. Great atmosphere, great conversation, and an annoyingly consistent ability to give exactly the haircut you wanted--even when your instructions are basically, "Make me look less terrible." I asked for a shave after my haircut. They said, absolutely! No problem. They took out an electric razor, shaved most of my face , missing or skipping the hardest, most important parts. Afterwards, they told me how great their work was, how lucky I was, then charged me $80. Walking out, I didn't have enough time to examine what I paid for or the quality of the work, but I knew something was off. I thought to myself, I doubt it! When I got into the car and started examining the haircut and shave..... I could have went to the haircuttery for $25 and a better service. read more

KC refused to color my hair this past Christmas (2024). They are too busy and they are however, this has been done before when it was a busy time. She stated later she doesn't do color anymore and now I see photos on Yelp of cut and color a year later?! Very confused. Confirm their services when you call, ladies. read more

They welcomed me as a walk in and despite being busy they made room for me, waiting less than 10 minutes, and were very friendly. The shop has the right vibe and the owners care. Haircut was amazing, my son is picky and has great long but always wants it shortened but not chopped everyone we get it cut. They did a great job on keeping it clean on the sides and flowing up top. Best haircut I've had since moving to Scottsdale from Phoenix 4 years ago. The salon is conveniently located with ample street parking. I was able to get a desirable appointment time on relatively short notice. The place is busy and well kept, but not annoying or pretentious like so many places here. The owners are a husband and wife team and they are masters of their craft. Actually brought my toddler son for a haircut second time around. You know a place actually cares about their customers when they takes notes so you don't have to repeat everything next time you show up.
