They would not let my kid wear this life jacket because they said it wasn't "whatever approved." It's a billion times better then what they offer at the river and it's a life jacket for Christ sake. Located directly off of Eastern Ave and adjacent to Robertson Ave, this 7.1 acre park is situated in the Carmichael area and is primarily surrounded by residential homes as well as a nearby church. It is part of the Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District which facilitates several other nearby parks as well as projects, classes, and various events. I came here for the first time during the afternoon of Sunday 4/13/2025 at around 3:00pm as I met with several other guys to play a 2x2 game of one of the most trendiest all-purpose sports, pickleball. This particular park offers a total of 6 pickleball courts that utilize an asphalt surface complete with the dedicated pickleball-regulation lines and nets (which is a scaled-down version of a tennis court). During my visit, all of the guests were extremely courteous and friendly. In addition to the pickleball courts, this park also boasts a ton of other amenities including a full-on children's playground, a multi-purpose sports field, a sandbox, futsal court (which is similar to soccer and played on a hard surface), and a half-court basketball court. Additionally, there are shaded picnic shelters, an off-leash dog area (make sure to clean up after your pup), a large grass area with several trees to keep out the sun, and two public restrooms. The parking area is ample and can fit a few dozen vehicles comfortably at any given time. Since I have been to my share of parks in various towns and cities, this one is well-kept, clean, and a very safe environment to bring the kids. The hours are 7am-7pm (sunrise to sunset). Since I hope to get more involved with outdoor activities, I am striving to make many future visits to this place. With that said and done, I am giving "Eastern Oak Park" a unanimous five-star rating.

There are functional, and usually clean, bathrooms and water fountains. There are gates to separate areas for big and small dogs. There's plenty of benches along with donated plastic chairs to find better shade. Our kids especially love running and racing their scooters around the sidewalk perimeter. That said, apologies to any walkers who might have been startled. No incidents to date, because like I said, we've only been met with kindness and support. It's a great community and we've even built bonds with surrounding neighbors who also frequent here.

I've never seen this park over crowded. Sometime the regulars combine their small dogs with their bigger dogs. But it seems like it is a universal agreement amongst the regulars who go there at a certain time. The yards seem to be kept fairly clean as I haven't found any droppings yet. I wish they supplied bags though, just in case the owners forget. Other than that, great neighborhood dog park.

But it's a clean, shaded park with a small play structure and sandbox for kids to play in. They have a nice green lawn too which is fun for parties or picnics. One of the better parks to go to in the summer as there is a shade and lots of trees keeping it cooler than most parks. Parking can be a bit iffy as Folsom is a bo parking zone and 42nd St serves the residents who need to park so on busy days or events (like the holidays) it can be tough to find parking.

What a cute park!…read more This is one of my favorite parks to spend time with my young nieces & nephews. I love that its a park more for the littles in your life, than the bigger kids. Witter is pet free, so the babies, toddlers, and small school aged children can run around in a clean play area. The park is kept clean, there are shaded areas, and if you wanted to have a picnic, a party, or just a get together, there are tables, BBQ grills etc all there! The shaded areas also keep the sun off of delicate skin. The water spray area doesnt always work, and I would encourage you to bring bottles of water/drinks with you. While the some of the structures are shaded, they hold the heat. I would recommend that during warmer months, you plan on early morning play time, so you can avoid the hot heat. Play structures are for the mini me's, and my family loves the structures and swings. Weeeeeeeeee is the word of the day! Its free of charge, free parking, and the hours are mostly morning until dinner time/dusk. Bring your littles for a morning of fun in the sun!

I brought my dog here the other day and this park is disgusting. The park is incredibly small and muddy and not well taken care of. It's one of few parks that I have been to where there are no poo bags offered, which is not a problem for me because I bring my own, but it is probably contributing to the horrible state of the park itself. Along with the dog feces everywhere, there was human feces as well as an actual jug full of urine. There are tons of unhoused persons who clearly stay around here in the adjacent canal and have taken over this area, which is not a problem in itself but the state of the park feels unsafe and dirty. This park needs real community involvement and improvement. We did not stay long and I would not recommend this park to anyone in it's current state.
