Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. It was busy, but organized for seating and clearing tables. Service was lousy, saw the waitress one time, and waited an hour before we left, never got our food even after asking for an update. Others seated left as well. Going to be a while before we give them our business again. Very sad, used to be a good place. read more

Made a quick stop while passing through on a long day of driving. We had heard so much about this place from family and we wanted to check it out. Unfortunately we had had a heavy late lunch so had no appetite for the delicious dinner offerings (Next time!!) but did split the starter sampler. Friendly and efficient staff. This restaurant serves great, homemade comfort food. They are well known for their chicken fried steak, which is very good. A fun option is in a bowl layered with chopped steak, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. Today I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was amazing. I think the best I've ever had. We went on a Friday night it was busy as are most restaurants on Friday. We didn't have to wait long for a seat we got on the waitlist before we arrived. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. I was undecided about what I wanted to eat they made a couple of recommendations. I had the CFS with white gravy green beans and double order of mashed potatoes it came with a huge dinner roll. I ordered their very popular coconut cake and a piece of carrot cake to go. I was very full by the end of the meal. Bring a jacket it was pretty cool sitting there. read more

Food portions are hearty. Prices are on the higher side but what you would expect from a mom and pop type restaurant. Desserts are delicious and a good portions as well. OMG! Why has noone ever told me about this place located in BURRTON KS. The food was phenomenal.. outstanding..etc etc etc. Us 4 girls decided to eat here to celebrate a couple birthdays. We had the Asian chicken salad.. scrumptious with lots of chicken and we also had the pork chops with yummy fried okra and seasoned rice.. excellent. My other friends split the chicken fried steak and they as well had the fried okra along with mashed potatoes..they said theirs was yummy as well. The rolls we had that came with the meal we're the best I've ever had in my life and I'm 52!..he he .but to conclude we each got a dessert..we chose banana cream cheesecake..peanut butter pie and peanut butter chocolate cake which I was told was to die for. This place was out of this world and I can't wait to go back to try all the other yummy things on the menu. You're gonna love it! read more

Went with large group and that may be the reason some of our food was cold. The ranch dressing is actually a dill ranch dressing, had a waxy taste. The server was really attentive and enjoyed the atmosphere. The website did advise if a significant price increase due to current economy. I just don't know if I would be willing to pay $17 for a chicken Fried chicken again. I had heard they had giant portions and I would have to disagree. I do appreciate they buy local! read more

Great neo country atmosphere at the Barn, nicely decorated, super clean, well maintained and thought out restaurant. I had the barn burner burger which was loaded with jalapeños, ghost pepper sauce, jalapeño bacon, cheese and spicy ketchup. It was outstanding, it was crazy hot good. The servers and staff where friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they were also slow so be prepared to sit and look at the mason jar chandler and other cool decorations. First time to eat here tonight. Seated right away. Server took orders fairly soon, then the wait started. Almost 45 minutes to get a chopped steak dinner, and a chicken fried chicken dinner. Took my family of four there for breakfast on a Sunday around 10AM. It wasn't too busy, but busy enough that you weren't worried they don't serve fresh food..... :) Not many complaints - a couple of locals hung out at the bar gabbing with the owner or manager, the waitress, whoever else came by. Nothing wrong with this, but it always seems unprofessional to me. Being this is in Burrton, KS, population 901, I don't imagine they care, but they need outside customers to stay in business. Also, the food took quite awhile to get out, longer than average, but not ridiculous. One other sticking point for me was the bathrooms. They were fairly neat, but none of the urinals had been flushed, and it smelled like it. There were also paper towels on the floor. THAT BEING SAID, the food was fantastic. HUGE portions, and cheaper than about any diner in Wichita. It also tasted great, was cooked well, and everyone at the table was pleased with their order. I've never had so much food served to me, especially at the cheap cost. I'd definitely go back, but it's quite a drive for me. Great food, the waitress was polite and attentive, so overall it's a win. I'm taking a star off for the bathrooms. read more
