Shrimp burrito with lots of fresh veggies but way short on flavor...
    Tim G.

This venue offers a food cart-style setup with a small, focused kitchen menu. I tried the burrito from La Boca, and unfortunately, it fell flat -- mostly flavorless and pretty disappointing. On the upside, the pizza (from the pizza cart) was a standout -- fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. Service is a bit hard to evaluate since it's all self-serve: order at the cart, pick up your food, and bus your own table. I did an excellent job (if I may say so myself), but don't count on anyone doing it for you. The ambiance is typical for an outdoor food truck spot -- casual, a bit noisy, and nothing out of the ordinary. If you like that laid-back vibe, it'll work for you.

Only got drinks but my craft cocktail was delightful. I had the Sunset Reverie and want to try and replicate it at home for my drink of the summer.

I just got a kombucha and it was delicious. The vibe here is really good. Love the live music.

This place was in the same area as Boone Dog Wood Fire Pizza, it was like a match made in heaven. The beer was pretty good, I had the Douglas Lager a tacoma, Washington beer. The service was good and the vibe was great. Side note make sure to try the watermelon water they have in the cooler it's no alcoholic and tastes pretty good. I definitely would recommend this place if you are in the area.

Too busy in a good way. We like it better than our local cart pod which is Tumalo Bite. Great pizza from Boone Dog's Pizza in a wood fired oven, prices have gone too far up, delicious though. Root Bound vegan bowls got thumbs-up from my brother in law. Good selection of ciders, beers and a few NA and mixed drink options are inside the big building which also sells burgers and fries. Ran into people I knew, their kids were running around and playing in a sandbox. Too many dogs barking at each other. In summer too many tourists, you still see people you know from around here. Sometimes there is music and usually it is too loud. The Barn is more of a place usually where people sit outside and talk. One time there was kids playing music and we were surprised how good their music was. New cart sells more middle eastern types foods. I got something kafta like and it was bad. Artisan pickles made it look pretty. Changing my rating to four-stars for that? Not for now. The Barn is a good spot.

Was passing through sisters and heard good things about this place. Has a fun rustic aesthetic. Upon ordering was greeted by the extremely unenthusiastic blonde hostess. Asked for certain bottled beers which I didn't know if they carried or not and instead of suggesting alternatives I was just met with "no, we don't have that". A little underwhelming. Food was ok, maybe a $16 cheese burger and having to pay an additional $8 for a side is standard here, but was so foreign and almost amusing to me. My friend got their food but I went outside to get wood fired pizza. If you're hungry/ looking for food or eating with family, I wouldn't go here but if you were just meeting friends for drinks then sure...

Pretty laid back spot to grab a couple of drinks and maybe get food from one of the several trucks. - Nice tap list, OK wine selection (could use a house cab). - Lots of seating choices inside and out. - Good array of food trucks except that when the vegan place isn't open, vegetarians (not just vegans) will be challenged to find something they can eat. It would help if the pizza people could ascertain whether their cheese is non-animal rennet and make that known on the menu. - Could use a couple more restrooms.

Wow, wow, wow! Carmelita's can you come join The Barn in my city! So crazy Sisters has a Barn like the one in Albany, OR. Not as many food carts but yummy food. Ok back to my review, I got the shrimp trio the young woman asked if pico de gallo and cojita cheese was okay on my taco. I wanted to say giiiiiirl, my daughters are half Mexican and I married one, load it up! But I replied, I love it all! :0) Theses tacos were loaded with yummy veggies and full of flavor. My mom ordered a side of chips with guacamole and that was some of the best guacamole I've ever had. So good. My Mom got a pepperoni pizza from Boone Dog pizza. It started raining so we were leaving. My mom and my daughter couldn't finish the pizza so they asked for a to-go box and they had to pay a dollar for it. Really?!? She already bought pizza from you, why charge for a box and it's teeny tiny. I loved the outdoor seating. Not many places inside to sit. Hence why we left when it started raining.

Great location and building. Great seating and good options for food and the food trucks. Sandbox for the kids and a stage for live entertainment. Plenty of seating and nicely landscaped. Fire features for those cold days and nights. Staff were great and helpful.

My wife had subbed a garden burger for the American Smash burger with fries. She liked her choice. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger with fries and a pint of Five Pine Chocolate Porter. A Brown Porter that features 2 pounds per barrel of the finest Belgian dark chocolate, creating a slightly roasty brew with chocolaty satin finish. The beer was fine . My burger was over cooked for me. I wasn't given the option of how I wanted it cooked. I should have mentioned that when ordering . Most restaurant servers would ask you that question when ordering a burger. I would try something different if and when we make another appearance.

Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.
