This class you have two different weight and bands to challenge yourself and give you the option to adjust to your needs. In both classes, the instructors either worked out with the group or walked around to ensure exercises were done correctly. I also felt it was easy for both beginners and advanced students to move at their own pace, maintain a steady heartbeat, and work up a sweat. The studio provides all equipment--just bring some non-slip socks and water to stay hydrated.

They also have a boutique selling nice workout clothing, grip socks and fancy water bottles. I did the hour long barre class yesterday and it was an excellent workout. Hollie instructed the fast paced class with grace and before I knew it the hour was over. They also offer other classes like Mod Burn which incorporates high intensity training and Barre 50 (shorter class). There are new client specials and I purchased an Austin Tidbits deal of 3 weeks for $49. If you like barre you will love Mod Fitness.

My new favorite place for Barre classes in north-central ATX. The studio is clean, simple, small. It's a house turned fitness studio, with about 6 parking spots in back, and street parking in front. I've never had a problem finding parking, morning or evening. There is a small area for your belongings, a front desk (with a friendly face posted up), 2 clean restrooms, and the work out room. The walls are lined with mirrors and barres, of course. During the barre classes (my favorite), you will need a mat, ball, small hand weights, and a strap (all provided). You literally work every part of your body. Upper, lower, middle, front, back... you get the idea. Every time I attend, I find myself surprised at the exercises that are new to me. I'm a DVD and workout class junkie, and to learn new exercises excites me! You will work your lower half to the point of shakes and earthquakes around the barre, all by being pushed in an encouraging way. All the instructors are just awesome. I appreciate the countdown (just 8 more seconds... etc), which usually leads to an isometric hold... which leads to 8 pulses, then relax (8 more is a white lie). I leave MOD feeling like a goddess. Get your booty to the barre and get ready to work! I love MOD!

As with each barre3 location i have personally experienced for myself, the instructors at this location are warm, welcoming, exceptional & challenging. barre3 is a beautiful, "full-body balanced workout" that boils down to a unique blend of yoga, pilates, & ballet (barre) work. i've tried alllll the boutique fitness classes & studios, genres, methods/styles etc., you name it...and barre3 is the most fulfilling, enjoyable, & challenging workout experience i've had! Don't get it twisted - each barre3 class i've ever taken has been extremely intense & difficult, but the physical, mental, & emotional health improvements & peaks are well worth it! Barre3's website describes it best, "Our innovative approach combines low-impact isometric moves, large-range cardio bursts, and mind-centering breathwork." - and for each of those details, i'm in love! the cherry on top of the barre3 sundae is that their co-founder/CEO, Sadie Lincoln, is an absolute role model, leader queen! (ProTip: she also teaches & has some of their most-killer recorded classes in their online inventory!) In addition to studio classes, they offer at-home recorded & live workouts. Their in-store merchandise is consistently a cute & comfortable selection that they rotate seasonally - they cover the typical workout leggings, tanks, tops, barre socks, etc. And, you get a 10% discount off of their retail merchandise if you have a membership with them. Price point is on par with other higher-end, boutique-style fitness studios in Austin, & more affordable if you have a monthly employee benefit for expensing & getting partial/full reimbursement for gym membership.
