The beachcomber located right on Cahoon hollow beach was perfect place to grab some food and drinks after spending time on the beach! Thankfully the restaurant is dog friendly. Which was great for us , however the dog friendly area is limited to standing area only . Note the restaurant does get pretty busy ! The beach itself is beautiful however the beach view is limited from the restaurant ( unless it on the outdoor bar area .. which can also get crowded too ) I ordered the garden salad with chicken and balsamic vinaigrette! The salad was made with fresh ingredients , chicken was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed my meal ! The salad was large and filling ! Outdoor seating - preferably at the bar - is the way to go. Listening to reggae music in my beach cover-up with sun-kissed skin, sipping on a delicious painkiller, is a terrific way to spend a summer evening on the Cape. My fish taco was just okay. First off, I may have had my favorite cocktail here recently, the Cruzan Confusion (many humorous cocktail names!) consisting of coconut rum, mango rum, and pineapple juice. What's a more perfect summer beverage than that? I also had the best form of mussels I've ever had in the form of an appetizer, being garlicy and dipped in butter. The cod fish sandwich and fried clam roll I had on my second visit were both great, and the menu is expectedly filled with great seafood choices and a fun, seafaring atmosphere throughout. It's a party here, so bring the family and have an awesome night! You don't come here for the food, you come here for the experience and because it's the closest restaurant near the beach. Dishes are not fussy and served on paper plates while you try not to elbow your neighbors sitting besides you in plastic chairs but who cares? The food is tasty, the portions are large and the ocean decor is on full display while you enjoy your scallops, fried oysters and calamari. My only complaint is that so many of the dishes are fried. It would have been great to see more things like the seared scallops which were delicious and fresh. I also tried their house root beer which tasted like bottled A&W. The Beachcomber has been our stop on the Cape, even before my time. The last time we ate here was back in 2012, and quite a bit has changed for the better. Due to erosions in past years, the parking lot was expanded in the last couple of years, which was well needed and got the job done. The food is endless, with so many dishes, and many are very good. The cheeseburger has been my go-to; it's pretty tasty, filling, and messy. The vibe is what you expect: loud. If you're used to it, it's alright. Take advantage of the souvenirs offered. Also, don't forget about the concerts during the summer. Be on the lookout for who is performing. A lot of fun and memories at The Beachcomber are waiting. read more

I was a bit disappointed with the place as i thought i would be able to eat and look at the beach view, but you can do that only at the bar. Other seats are inside or not with a beachview. But food was good! Ambiance: full of dudes with muscles. If you are into that kind of thing- that's the perfect place. Very crowded and small place. If you don't like crowd, don't. The drinks are good too. The service was efficient and we had a nice server. I do think if you are going to eat here, you have to roll with the seating being close and it truly is a beach restaurant. Restaurant is right next to the beach, providing an amazing atmosphere. It really is the epitome of a Cape Cod bar/restaurant. The fish and chips were great: big portion, tasted like fresh haddock, and served on an edible tortilla chip! My family also enjoyed the shrimp and lobster roll. I know you don't care about this review, but we arrived early put our names in received a pager, went and got a glass of wine, waited about 45 minutes, checked in at the hostess stand she said she called us a long time ago and canceled our table; I let her know the pager never went off. She said we would be next, then she sat someone in front of us. We were a party of two and I understand the tables are for more than two....seems as though if you tip the hostess you get a table. Came back in last night and our family had an amazing night out. From waiting for our table on the patio overlooking the ocean with a cocktail, to the oyster shooters and steamers, to all of our entrees, everyone enjoyed their meal, the views, and the atmosphere. Always a long line here even on a rainy/cloudy day! We were waiting before the restaurant even opened but once they did, they seated us really quickly. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and I was impressed by how quickly she was able to take care of all of us. Almost impossible parking. So popular that if you are lucky enough to get a spot, the line for drinks at the bar is 6 people deep. Table limits for food are 45 minutes. Bartender was pretty good. A great Beach experience in the Cape! Parking costs $30, standard across most places here, but they give you a $30 voucher for use on merchandise or food, making it a fair deal. Located right next to the beach, the Beachcomber is very popular. Since you have to pay for parking at the beach, you're given a voucher to use at the restaurant too. You can eat inside, but my friends and I decided to do takeout and picnic on the beach. When in Cape Cod, you have to get lobster rolls but be ready to pay market price for them. They were on the more expensive side this day especially with inflation. We had been at the table for 30min and had spent another $125 on food and more drinks. Our server (a guy with badly bleached hair) came over twice after receiving a tip of $20 asking us to leave because there was a 2 hour wait which I responded with that I knew that because we had waited 2 hours. Look--the food is average to good; the drinks are very good; and the service is relatively fast.  This review would be higher if not for the massive, glaring red flag--they have no bathrooms. This is a beach bar.  It sits on the picturesque Crystal Cove beach. It serves a bevy of tasty and bladder-filling drinks.  And yet in this, the year 2020, it has no indoor commode whatsoever.   Your only option, if you can call it that, is to use one of the port-a-johns, lined up in rows in the parking lot and baked in the summer sun.  Personally, I'd rather take my chances peeing on the head of a Great White shark in the ocean nearby. read more

The Beachcomber was a highlight of my Cape Cod trip. The view is amazing, and the food and drinks were excellent as well. When we pulled in, we were told it was $30 cash to park, and then you receive a $30 voucher for food or merchandise, but not alcohol. Luckily we had cash on us, as we hadn't known about the parking in advance. We put in our names for a table and waited about 30 minutes. They also offer takeout which you can eat on the beach. If we had known about that ahead of time, we probably would have done that for our meal. After our meal, we got takeout drinks (as well as oysters to meet the require $5 food minimum) and took them down to the beach. read more

My husband and I just visited the Beachcomber and it was fantastic!!! We waited about 15 minutes for a table, and once we were seated got a rum and coke and White Russian. Both drinks were good but each was $15, so expensive but you are right on the beach with an exceptional view so that's what you're paying for. I have a gluten and egg allergy and our waiter was very accommodating with helping me find something I can eat. I got the Cajun scallop appetizer (which came with 7 scallops, I was shocked) and a side of fries. Which once I saw how many scallops were in an appetizer, I realized I didn't need the fries lol and definitely wouldn't have needed a main course. My husband got the beachcomber burger and fries and it was good, just wish it came with a sauce on the bun. All in all it was a great experience and we were in and out in exactly 1 hour which was great. Can't imagine going in July though lol. read more

The Beachcomber is a must visit in Wellfleet - simply put its casual fare that is very good from the seafood to the fried chicken sandwich (my fav). The atmosphere has a classic open-airy beach feel because its right on Cahoon Hollow Beach. There are no real views from the restaurant but you can walk right out the front door onto the dune. The oysters were small, but very sweet, and the fried belly clams were not 'belly' enough for my liking and gave me heartburn. Go figure. But the service was great and the cocktails were banging. After placing my initial review months ago. I received a response from the owner Dan M on yelp. His response was "imagine having only beach goers and nobody in the restaurant." Based on other reviews of rude service from wait staff, and reading Dan's responses to customers calling them "fibbers" etc when they write a review saying they had a horrible experience . it's clear that he doesn't care about his customers and doesn't understand that if he provided better customer service and didn't argue with potential customers online maybe he wouldn't need to make up for his lack of business with a 30 dollar "parking voucher" (that doesn't even apply to everything in the restaurant). Running a restaurant, hiring friendly staff and understanding that without customers you won't have a business clearly isn't for everyone. Instead of ignoring what the public is saying about your establishment maybe look at what your potential customers are saying about your business practices and improve and do better. read more

There's lots to cover today class, so get in your seats and quiet down because today's chapter on The Beachcomber is going to be a hard review to write. So much was right with this experience and so much was wrong but ultimately it gets 4 stars ... read on to see why. First of all, the parking here is a fucking nightmare. Literally, one of the oddest parking situations I've experienced. We roll up to the restaurant and there's a guy at the street telling us the lot is full and we need to go about 1.5 miles back and park at the beach lot and take the free shuttle back. I pointed out that I noticed 3 empty spots from our perch high above the lot. He told me that until someone told him the lot wasn't full, he couldn't let us in. As we were U-turning to go to the far lot, two more cars pulled out making 5 visible open spots left. So lets say you are lucky enough to get a spot at the restaurant's lot. You pay $20 or $30 and they give you a $20 credit towards food. So it kind of washes. Let's say, like me, you don't get a spot and have to go to the overflow lot. Parking is $30 and guess what ... no food credit. Add the tip for the shuttle driver (the sign above the door says non-tippers will be eaten by a Great White Shark ... sort of ghoulish considering last summer a teenage surfer was killed by a Great White on that beach.) and you are paying $30-$40 to park for lunch. Manhattan isn't that bad. So after a 5 minute shuttle ride, you arrive to utter pandemonium with people waiting in line, standing around with pagers, crowding the bar, crowding the allies. Personal space is not a 'thing' at The Beachcomber so if you aren't cool eating with strangers' asses pointing in your face or standing at the bar without 7 different sweaty body parts of 3 different drunk hipsters touching you ... lets just say this won't be your cup of tea. Your choices are to eat inside, eat outside or first available. The average summer wait is between 40 minutes and 1.5 hours. Yikes. My recommendation is to eat inside as outside has no ocean views. The best view is at the bar (where they serve food) and includes a sandy parking lot and distant water. Outside is covered by a tarp, so not much sun and the crowds are much louder and packed much tighter than inside where the tables are more private. Our group had nothing that was anything less than yummy, which is why the high stars for a restaurant that rivals Best Buy on a Black Friday sale for the fuckery and crowds. The fried foods are the standards as is the lobster roll. The fried seafood comes in a fried tortilla bowl, full of french fries. An American's dream. The seafood has a light and flaky batter and is seasoned well. I had the fried shrimp which was fantastic. I tasted a table mate's fried whole clam which was good except that it was very gritty with sand. The chowder was okay ... not the best on the Cape and tasted too thick as if it was poured from a bag from a food service provider like Sysco vs. made from scratch. Everyone liked their meal ... even the lobster roll was full of chunky lobster meat and not overly saturated with mayonaise. The fact that everything tasted good and fresh was almost amazing considering how big the crowd was there and how many people were ordering food. The prices (minus the parking) were actually fairly decent for what is essentially a tourist trap. You can walk down to the beach and I guess spend the day there after you eat. And then return to your car or take the shuttle to your car. Despite the fact there are no ocean views from the tables, it is on a cliff right above the beach. There aren't stairs down ... its a path, so if you bring a cooler down to the beach, going back up is not going to be a picnic. There's a reason this place is so popular. Good food, an interesting location, beach access and tradition ... it's been around a while. Though this place makes the crowds at Disneyworld during school vacation week look tame, there's something fun and cool about it. read more

We rode our bikes here on a Friday in June. Got here a little after the posted 11:30 opening time and the parking lot was full. The restaurant was packed and some people had to wait for tables. Since we had a dog, we could only get takeout and hang out in the covered patio closest to the entrance to the beach. We ordered take out from the bar window and had 4 pub tables to stand at to eat. There was a water tap to fill our dog bowl and get a cup for ourselves. Food was fast and fresh. We had a lobster roll with chips, a cheeseburger with fries and a couple sodas for $80. Food was good. Prices are on point with all the other tourist/expensive restaurants. Would have liked to sit and have a drink and some apps, but didn't feel welcome because of our dog, so we ate and took off again on our bikes. The view from the top of the beach entrance is amazing but you don't see the ocean or beach once inside the restaurant (or on the covered patio). Going to "The 'comah" is like an annual pilgrimage for many and I'm sure it's more fun inside the restaurant. read more
