I do my best and try to support local businesses especially brick and mortar establishments but…read moreeveryone has their limit. Items are not white elephants and can be found relatively easy online. Fair is fair- period. My first encounter was primarily for research purposes however, wanting to support local businesses, I still walked away with a couple of items. As it so turns out one of these items turned out to be defective ultimately requiring an exchange, This cost me another 30-mile round trip in DMV traffic. No issues there, i had the original receipt and it was a simple and painless exchange with the exception of staff side talk. Service - staff is present, waiting and at the ready. Like loss prevention and teenagers in a convenience store they are ready to pounce. it is uncertain if it is due to being such a small location or if it is out of sheer boredom but they are there to support and apply pressure if needed. Selection -they offer a decent selection of boots, buckles, hats, and western accessories. Much less than a large name brand store as you can imagine due to floor size and layout. Giving off a vibe like entering a large swap meet booth rather than a well established business that has been in the community for years. Value - Sadly extremely lacking and outright predatory. I was in the market for a pair of ostritch cowboy boots and my search ended with utter disappointed I discovered the product offered was well over priced compared to their competitors. A pair of boots listed online between $409.00 and $459,00 at WJ Colt's listed sales price of $609.99 with an additional "20% discount" before taxes were ultimately applied. The same pair of boots Original MSRP, were a laughable, $762.99 with a bright red X over it offering the illusion of a bargin. At such price points the items can continue to sit on the shelf until the right sucker comes along. Not today..

Helpful, knowledgeable and great to do business with. Not many of these kinds of stores for men around so when you find a jewel like this it's important to support.

I won't shop for suits anywhere else as long as I'm in Charlottesville, and here's why:…read more I went in to get a suit for some upcoming job interviews. Mike sized me up and was immediately on the phone to order my suit from his supplier, with expedited shipping at no extra charge. The price was a bit more than I'd pay at Men's Warehouse, but not a whole lot more, and the garments are of noticeably higher quality, and each suit comes with lifetime free alterations. He called me the minute it came in, and I went down to try it on. It fit great, and looked great, but I immediately noticed it was a charcoal grey, rather than the lighter grey I wanted, and which I heard Mike order on the phone. In short, I knew it was the supplier's mistake, not the Shop's. But Mike didn't pass the buck, didn't explain it away. He took accountability for his supplier's mistake, and had the charcoal suit altered for me to use in my interview, and ordered the correct grey one for me when I get back. I was expecting to give back the charcoal one, but when I returned to try on the altered suit, he insisted I keep both for the trouble. I was blown away. Mike's words were "I do business the right way, the way it used to be done". Indeed. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
